Amazing to take this in but from a different perspective. Decades and decades of looking sideways out of windows and sometimes forwards / backwards from open window of stram trains and one realises just how much Hawkesbury sandstone was removed for the construction and the amount of backfill along Mullet Creek. Truly a masterpiece for the time it was built. We should all think about how the trip north was made before the section of track between Hawkesbury River / Long Island and Gosford existed.

This was very satisfying to watch. This video would have been really beneficial to myself and others a decade or so ago, as a surveyor working with a main contractor and RailCorp to do a detail survey of all the structures, OHW and track to help update the Halcrow Sheets for the overhead wiring between structures. Making sure that we had the correct Contact and Catenary wires crossing over and terminating at the right structure anchor mast. Even today, designers, OHW teams and other interested professionals, such as Engineers and Surveyors, would I believe gain a real benefit from the Driver's cab video of each track, as part of the post- maintenance shutdown verification process.

Thanks for the great trip. What was the old bridge next to the Hawkesbury River Bridge? Was that the old Pacific Highway bridge? Old friend is retired from Countrylink lives in Woy Woy. I was amazed how it is only a half-hour from Woy Woy to Hornsby. He does his big shops at Hornsby. Noticed suburban trains going was it all the way to Woy Woy? Thanks for the Station descriptions I know the International viewers will also enjoy those.
