I’m making shirt B from this pattern as my first shirt and I also have problems with some (many) of the instructions. I also made several of the same faces as you!! Yours looks great! Thanks for sharing!
First of all:I hate Burda. The sizes are often off, the instructions are unclear. I just keep falling for the nice pitcures and the brand. However I've got that pattern and this video is a great help. Wish me luck!
Haha yes in my experience indie pattern designers like Helen's Closet and Hey June are doing a much better job with the instructions. I am sure your shirt will turn out great though!
I'm not even sewing yet and I'm already confused: it says to add 1.5cm seam allowance everywhere except "front edges of piece 1" (I'm making B). I don't understand where on piece on to add 1.5cm and where not to :( I know for sure I will need this video :p
I don't have the pattern in front of me but if I am not mistaken and piece 1 is for the two front pieces with the button closure, then you add seam allowence basically everywhere except the button closure as it already has enough space to fold in and the size gets determined by the placement of the sideseam. Hope that helps (and is correct lol)! Have fun sewing, if Burda is too intense for you to start with (understandably so), I can recommend indie designers like Helen's Closet or hey June Handmade, as they have better instructions 😉
Thank you so much! What a great tutorial! So entertaining! I loved it! Thank you again!!
