From my replies it probably sounds like I'm just pissed that people don't like the song. I'm not. I understand it's not for everyone. What I DO get angry with is how damn rude ya'll are. Saying "this music sucks!!!" is rude. Slap yourself really hard. Saying "I don't really like this music" is not rude. It's understandable. Telling me to change the music is rude. Turn off your computer, pet a dog, think about what in your life could have happened to make you turn out to be such a rude person.
I find correlation between the majority of the "in/popular" music's simplistic, shallow lyrics and the lack of perception to deeper lyrics. This isn't saying that ALL music that you hear on the radio is shallow, nor that ALL people who listen to that music are "lyric illiterate" as I call them, but I see it. People who only take lyrics at face-value, or judge it by that first go around of listening to it without thinking over what the writer/singer meant, will not understand this song. Why they're trying to convince you to change it is beyond me. Peehaps the song scares them, but it's more likely the viewers have a desire to control and dictate what an artist/animator/entertainment-content creator produce. I, personally, love the choice you made. It makes sense to me as to why you chose it for Squirrelflight; it makes sense in general. To me, it's a bit like Jane's Addiction song "Jane Says." So, yeah. Keep on keeping on. :]
I love Kimya Dawson and all of her song. So what if it isn't some Taylor Swift pop music, its a song with actual meaning (that I can understand), and I love this song. It's my favorite composed by Kimya Dawson

Yes, squirrelflight was not only a very nicely described character in terms of personality, but she is disrespected WAY to much when really, she did nothing but be loyal to her siblings. Loyalty is a key part of a warrior cat Yup, the animators really took time on this and made it wonderful!
I have no clue what the animatic is about or anything about Warrior Cats but I watched this when I was younger and have been looking for it for YEARS. This is so nostalgic for me that now that I have finally found I’m starting to get genuinely really teary eyed.
+Presli LM I think the artist said that it was based on how she used to drink. A couple of things also came from her life- the rocks with holes were rocks she found and the silver pink pony at the end was a childhood favorite stuffed animal.
+Luigi Epic the silver pink pony was an allusion to the first song she wrote herself that one of her friends loved. he died in a shirt with silver pink ponies on it so they mean a lot to her
I love the song and all the work put into this! It’s been a few years since I originally watched this and I still come back. This perfectly portrays how squirrelflight felt during that entire time. I don’t think enough people realized what she was going through. Her undying loyalty to her sister and love for brambleclaw are so strong and she risked so much! It seems like every other video I watch about this incident puts focus on either leafpool grieving or hollyleaf going crazy.
I listened to this first time like: Good animation but the song sucks... Then I listened a second time and was like: Wow, I'm a jerk. This song is really good. My new favorite MAP/Song. Thanks for this one, bluekyokitty. It'll be a great inspiration for me.

Wow! Never thought this song could be put into a map, let alone a warrior cats map. I was confused on how they would portray the "silicone tits" and the "old man" lyric parts, but the animator a were brilliant and pieced it nicely. Awesome!
While I think a lot of this song fit perfectly where taken literally, there are admittedly some lyrics that I really had to stretch to think of as metaphors. Like the old man part I took the feeling of that, (life has spired so far down and bits of anger and shame in there) rather then the meaning. And I agree! Everyone did so amazing, I'm blown away!

I use everything as a metaphor. every drink she talks about are the people she loves who have affected her. the first drink is ashfur who was her friend there to comfort her as shes fighting with her other friend brambleclaw. She talks about making up with someone and thus shooting herself in the head- she made up with Brambleclaw, and Ashfur majorly messes up her life. The "tissues" were her children, who grew up to be rather angry "covered in shit". she talks about not being in a band, (not being part of the prophecy), but still acting as she was. when the song starts talkimg about all the drinks she had, hollyleaf is there revealing squirrelflight's secret. This causes brambleclaw to be very angry, squirrelflight wants to be angry too but can't. ("I tried to scream fuck you") I find a lot of parts of the song are self explanatory so I won't go I to those. near the end she talks about the one thing in her life giving comfort, (leafpool), telling her her life has been hard but she still deserves happiness.
