Thx 4 this vid man I needed this 4 school
I have been going back and forth between going enlisted army or army ROTC, but I’m currently staring my second semester of my freshman year of college. This was really helpful and I’m going to talk to the army ROTC office on campus. Great content!
You can also be active duty and do ROTC by enlisting as AGR. Not a necessity to have an SAT/ACT test.
Warrant Officer is the way to go, no need to rotate out as much and you are in a better position to pick your post.
Could you do a video specifically on scholarships and contracting?
Can you go from enlisted to reserve officer? And would the 8 year contract be shared 4 active 4 reserve or would it change once becoming a officer?
So if my unit does have a slot does that mean I have to keep my enlisted mos or can will I be given that list where you request your most desired mos for an officer
I’ve done 4 years of AFJROTC, I’m applying for the Army ROTC scholarship now, just so happens my sat score affected my decision it is a 1260 but for the Airforce scholarship it’s still a very average
Entonces puedo entrar haciendo una maestría y no podría hacerlo realizando otro bachillerato?
Question say I go in AFROTC could I still go to the army or no?
Can you do a video on do we have to take classes on campus for a degree or can I take my degree classes online I found out 70% classes have to be on main campus can I do a double major or minor maybe.
Did you make a video about becoming an officer through service academies?
Welp too bad I didn’t do this early on, I finished BCT recently and have state OCS this January which is way worse than rotc 😅
Whats that on your face? Were you issued that facial hair? 😂😂
lol I try to grow it out every chance I get. Had to shave it today but since it's christmas break I wont be shaving it for like 3 weeks now :)
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I am currently an enlisted soldier in Ft. Hood currently working on my Associates Degree in Gen. Studies. I have about 2 and a half years left of my active duty contract, and I was considering going into college ROTC after the military to finish off my Bachelors degree. Since at that time I would be prior service and with a degree, would I just have to do 2 years of ROTC and commission? I want to be in Texas National Guard as a Quatermaster Officer, would you know how competitive that branch is?
Please how many months or years do one has to work in the military before schooling in the University or collage
Hopefully this could be answered. If im awarded the scholarship and get the 10,000 a year for housing. Could i still be a commuter student a just pocket the housing allowance? Thank you
Do rotc cadets have to do combat training ?
Can’t you just go to the army website and enroll?
Non contract cadets they get uniforms?
So am I gonna have to be on some kind of waiting list to become an actual officer when in rotc
So.... I"m not sure why it is so tough to figure this out... if someone is wanting to do ROTC to contract for the scholarship... do you first contact the Army and apply for ROTC scholarship.. or first apply for the college, and hope you get the scholarship?
Let’s say you don’t get slot in ROTC can you still enroll in it without scholarship and do all 4 years and become officer in the army ?
Do you still need the act and ast scores in order to be in ROTC if you’re prior service?
Hi Matt, thank you for your videos. I am considering the army, either reserve or active. My question: the 9/11 GI bill says that you have to be on active duty for 90 days to be eligible for the benefits. My recruiter mentioned that BCT and AIT are active duty. Does the time spent in training initially count as active duty time as described in these various bills?
Hey Matt, is the lab thing once a month different if you’re in the guard or reserves. Does it interfere with drill dates ?
Hello sir, is a GT score a mandatory requirement for joining ROTC or can a college degree be accepted instead ??, Kindly advice me accordingly sir, I'm currently a National guard _ LA
I want know how many years can you join rotc program in college and I just want know because I am in JROTC right now as a sophomore in high school
Kimberly Nguyen ROTC is a 4 year program for most. If you went through basic, or attend basic camp you can bypass the first 2 years. Im pretty sure doing 4 years of jrotc allows you to bypass the first 2 years, but none of the previous jrotc cadets in my company are MSIII they are all MSI so maybe they remove that or its only at some colleges.
I am going to MEPS on Monday for the National Guard split op program. Can I still get contracted for ROTC?
Dylan Bourgard yes you can, many people go that route to get state tuition and state tuition assistance
I'm currently a split ops soldier in the NG. So I completed BCT but haven't gone to AIT. I plan on doing ROTC. :)
Are cadets allowed to have facial hair or do you have a shaving profile my guy?
Well technically the UCMJ does not apply to ROTC cadets, but good luck trying to explain that to your cadre.
Is there a difference going branch to branch I want to do Navy ROTC
Fenrir TheDarkWolf yeah navy rotc you have a choice becoming either a navy officer or marine officer other than that you have to relearn all the basic knowledge in the branch cause navy has a completely different rank structure
what if you graduate college and then go to officer candidate school ? do you have to go to basic first then once you finish bootcamp then go to ocs???
Yea I believe 10-8 weeks basic training than the other 12 weeks OCS part everyone goes to basic rotc OCS academy
I came into ROTC as a transfer student from community college. When I contracted my school I ended up missing the dates for basic camp so I came in as an MS2.
But what happen do you have to do a master to complete the 4yrs or do you have to wait until the next camp come around during the summer?
@@ga3444 they can combine both camps together during MS-3 year from what I heard but it might change you could do master and go to BCT next summer
Is there a background check after or before the rotc and is there Meps?
Christopher Morante No its just a normal class signing up for it is the same as singing up for all your other classes.
As an MS4 what would you recommended for workouts over winter break?
I’m currently a Freshman in college wondering if it’s worth starting ROTC during the second semester or to wait until next year to begin. I really want to start early but I’m worried that I’ll be far behind in everything if I start in the second semester. Do you think this would be a problem?
SMP what are the benefits of SMP over regular ROTC
State and federal TA, as well as the GI Bill. Civilians who enroll don't receive military benefits.
Is it better to do basic training over the summer then going to college as a freshman to do the rotc ?
Niaya Mariee Its easier just to go to college as a freshmen with no prior military service. Their is really no need to go to basic, my pms tried talking out 2 cadets from enlisting. After your MS1 year you would be able to contract, if you want you could become an SMP cadet then, as an SMP cadet you can go to drill in the NG or the reserves and get payed as an E5.
Nice vid
if I have a bachelor's degree and I want to join ROTC for a master's degree do I have to take the SAT?
i think your SAT has time when it expires so if it has not expired you can still use it but otherwise good luck on your test bro!
How do you only have 13K subs or is the public just that unevolved in the military
Haha thanks! I'm actually growing extremely fast right now. Currently I think I'm in the Top 5 fastest growing "Military TH-camrs" Which is crazy to me but I'm excited for where this is headed. Thanks for the awesome comment!!! :)
What is the Age limit to do ROTC in college and we have ROTC here in Hawaii at the University of Hawaii Moana so I wanna do it to start over and the first time I did it I messed up but. I wanna start over
What if you are a Freshman (in college) who wants to do ROTC but have already finished a semester of college? Would it just be I have to catch up over the summer? Or I wouldn't be able to do ROTC?
If for some reason you don't get the full 4 years in then you will just go to CIET
In prior enlisted and I am going to use my gi bill to go to school. Do I have to be on contract to commission ? I haven’t taken the ACT
Question for you! My boyfriend just graduated from basic training! He's been told he might not be able to take leave for Christmas! Why would the commanding officer deny Christmas leave? He doesn't even know how to do anything at the base yet. Help lol
That would be a very specific situation so I can't really help with the info he provided but... It's the Army. He might not have had the time to get the paperwork done in time to get it approved to go home. Which I'm thinking is the most likely case.
Shootemup89 Oh okay! :( well thanks! He's at fort Bliss it's so far away from me. :(
Thanks man this really gave me hope i turn 31 in March have little over a year to go
But question i have tattoos and dui from like 11 years ago
How will that affect my chances
Can I switch military branches after graduating ROTC?
Erin First No, once you contract in ROTC you make an obligation to serve as an officer in the army. Maybe after you finish the amount of years in your contract, you could join another branch.
what are your best practices in rotc?
andriagenesis Matanguihan In ROTC you basically learn basic army knowledge such as land nav, operation order, battle drills, learn about weapons systems, leaderships skills, patrolling, and lots of other cool stuff!
Shootemup89 I’m a split op who just completed BCT I’m in the reserves and want to goto ROTC I plan to enroll without the scholarship just the commission and I’m wondering what my best odds are for going active duty after it all
If you have a PT score of 270+. GPA 3.0+ and you aren't a crap soldier then I would say your odds are great!
I took ROTC in high school.😂 I wonder if I can use that as a advantage when enlisting in the army? 🤔🤔
Yes you can but you will have to get more information from your recruiter
Usually two years of JROTC will bump your contract up from E-1 to E-2
hey bro please reply i am from albania 17 and want to join there in rotc can i join with a schoolarship?
Can you join the military at 17 and still be in the army, then once you graduate go to college and be in rotc while you are a reservist?
3Krazyfitness this was so helpful also could you still do this with national guard. Also with national guard can you transfer states for college?
Does anyone know if they issue running shoes at BCT or should I buy and bring my own?
Everything you need is issued to you at the reception station when you arrive at basic.
Is getting commissioned in the US Army way better and easier than it is to get enlisted in the US Army?
So if I take two years of community college and transfer to a university that offers ROTC I will have to pursue a masters degree in order to join?
So I've done navy Rotc for 3 years for high school and I'm thinking about Enlisting into the army or taking army Rotc in college idk what choose any help?
Will be able to get in the ROTC program at 40 years old?
Wow 0 dislikes that's cool
A got 1100 in the ACT but I am not a citizen , I will join the reserve and once I am a citizen i will use the Simultaneously Membership Program to get into the ROTC
Dose making these types of informative videos give you extra points when you was in ROTC
What if I’m enlisted already.
^Thats an option, but you dont have to be an SMP cadet. Since its ROTC you would be a full time student, and cant deploy. You can easily join ROTC by signing up for the class. Some colleges let prior service skip first 2 years (not mine).
I wish I could become an Officer maybe in my next life.
Shootemup89 yes you're right only live once right. Why not. I should at least try.
Can an ocs graduate join us army war college???
Me from the future. Oh no. I’m 32. Not good.
How ? Meet the requirements sign the paperwork.... Just kidding OC
Excellent video, helped clear a couple things up that I was just wondering about. Keep doing what you're doing brother
Thanks, glad it helped!
@@MattWard89 what happens if you don't pass your first pt test
@@MattWard89 what about jrotc for the experience
