I highly recommend this truffle hunting tour with Matteo! Matteo is extremely knowledgeable and is an exceptional tour guide. I loved meeting him and his dogs pre-Covid. When I went with my sister, he did have 3, it's so unfortunate to see only 2 of them here. I do remember Wendy being the star of the show when I went on the tour. She was only 8 months old at the time, I believe. Please go visit him and experience a day in the life of an experienced truffle hunter. Thank you for the great tour when we were in Italy Matteo! What sort of forest? Oaks? Food looked good too. No butter or sauce just eggs and the fat from the meat? Great video thank you. My dog, here in Oregon U.S.A, now hunts truffles and it's been a lot of fun. We're just starting out, mostly looking under Douglas Fir trees. Great dogs. Very impressive when the dog brings the truffle to you. Amazing.
Ciao! Yes this is an oak tree forest good for finding summer truffles. Yes the real Italian Carbonara is just made with eggs, pecorino cheese, black pepper and Guanciale (absolutely not cream 😄). So good to hear that you are starting to hunt truffles with your dog in Oregon! 😳😳 I recently discovered about truffles from the movie "pig" by Nicolas cage. We have truffles in Cameroon and always throw them away like a soil fungus infection or something. I'm happy for this revelation but worried I'll find people in my area able to pay what it's actually worth or even half.
Do you advice teaching truffle dogs to retrieve the truffles or do you walk by their side and make sure they dont hurt turffles while digging and bringing back?. And how do you teach them to retrieve if you choose them to do so? Thank you :)

I did this with a group of friends in November 2019 and I highly recommend the experience. Matteo is wonderful-we had a blast. We brought our dog too.
