- In this episode of You're Icing Wrong! I take a dive into figuring out if NuAntidote is an effective deyellowing agent of patent leather!

Patent leather can be a very difficult material to deal with because when it has aged or been damaged, restoration techniques become much more specific and challenging to execute. I have had this pair of Air Jordan 1 Patent UNC for some time now and have had a lot of difficulty selling them because of the age related damage and yellowing. I recently have been researching some deyellowing and icing techniques and I stumbled upon a cleaning agent known as 'NuAntidote'.

NuAntidote is a product created by NuLife Kicks that can be found for sale here: nulifekicks.com/. NuAntidote is a sneaker cleaner that is meant to be safe on a number of different surfaces and materials found on sneakers. After cleaning using NuAntidote, if you place your sneakers in UV light, it can aid with deyellowing of your kicks as well! I have seen a lot of success videos and pictures but have never had the chance to use NuAntidote in an icing fashion. Being that it is safe to use on leathers and upper of most kicks, I decided to use it to try to ice some patent leather!

Tbh on uppers if you leave them under the uv lights for a few days it usually will help significsntly with removing the yellowijg without any product on it. Vick almighty from reshovenator frequently uses this technique especially on canvas.
Watched till the end and I see you tried a longer session. Your best bet might be repainting. The patent leather on jordans isn't actually true patent leather its actually painted leather with a high gloss and its easy to replicate.
Yes, I completely agree. However, with most surfaces and proper application, NuAntidote will speed this process EXPONENTIALLY and allow for simultaneous cleaning of the kicks. If I can speed up the process in a safe capacity, why would I not want to do it?
@@SailboatSupplies just wondering did you list these on ebay? I came across a pair the other day on ebay that looked exactly the same way. If not it must be a very common issue. I feel like all the yellowing is probably contained in the clear coat on top of the paint. If thats the case it might be possible to remove the clear with acetone to remove the yellowing then reapply a high gloss finish. Angelus has a new urethane based finish product called 4 coat and they come in 4 versions matte satin flat and gloss the gloss I hear can be used to create a patent leather look. Thats all most patent leather is these days is painted material with a high gloss coating.
