This could totally be an episode of Love, Death, Robots. The animation, the story telling, the coloring, even the sound and music, are all beyond so many works you'd find in the market these days. And you can see how the work and dedication the team pour into it. 10/10
What beautiful style! One thing that struck me is that, like many other graduate films, the universal theme of overcoming trauma or a deep sense of adversity is once again the emotional backbone. Each artist explores this in their own miraculous way, yet they are all connected.
As an introvert myself, the cost of isolation as presented here hits home. Humans are not solitary by nature, we need each other's company to stay healthy.
The extistential dread of being alone in space is palpable here. Huge props to the creator for making such an amazing representation of loneliness and loss.
Nowadays space stations are a government outpost. Government offices are the most boring thing ever. Space is not a place to be alone, especially if you are being sent inside a poortable government office. At least if it was private you could invent space parkour or something fun to do.
loved the lineless art style that was still sharp and clearly defined, the way the hash marks briefly fade into view at 0:57, the appearance of the mundane vending machine, the smashed screens that foreshadow the smashing of one more screen, the growing ink blot. big fan of the entire sequence and sound design at 2:54 with the shots of the present synchronized to the music, interspersed with the slow motion view of the past that functions as a mirror of the present. i loved the imagery of basking in the vast glow of the sun, how it makes u feel reborn, weightless and free and made of pure light. the title "sun screen" is very clever - the final shot of the eye shaped "screen" filled with sun at 5:51 evokes the sensation of gazing at a fathomlessly large being, while it gazes back with one bright eye. i hope her transport is solar powered (i think that's why the panels light up at 5:13?) and the reason the sun fills her with so much hope is it means she can finally go back home.
It looks amazing! Such detailed animation must require a lot of work in production…And not to mention how good the backgrounds are. The art of the entire film is very mature, it doesn't look like a student project at all. If there were a movie with this style, it would be fantastic!
As always, the attention to detail in these are insane and absolutely beautiful. The story is simple yet deep and emotional, and its something I love seeing with many of the graduates that come from GOBELINS. Not to mention, the music in this was beautiful. If the music is released I'd love to listen to it some more. Also I've got to say they did an excellent job melding dimensions in this, the use of both 3D and 2D animation and backgrounds was beautifully done in a way that really made it feel organic/natural.
oh wow. oh WOW. The emotion, the animation, the story, the way it's executed and written is just breathtaking. The final shots, the ending song- absolutely amazing.
This whole creation, artwork, beautiful product of emotion, colour, inner fire and effort has truly made my day, so I thank you all, who came together to produce such a magnificently planned out and executed next to perfection( only because perfection is a perception of one's own ideals), thankyou and bloody WELL DONE!♡
amazing! some of the visual tricks were a bit painful to my eyes, but the fear and desperation felt tangible, and at the sun part I got so many chills like whoah! The hand twist is my fav part, so elegant and pretty ❤❤❤
What makes this film even more interesting is the intense visual combination of Solaris, The Shining and Twin Peaks. There might have been something else that I didn't notice. These references, though undoubtedly intentional, come very naturally and don't feel in any way forced like they often do in modern cinema
Omg I lov it the details the timing the music and the art style is amazing . I lov the small difference in the art style with every new element that's added
Haven't seen it yet (still waiting for it to release) But I love the style with no drawn borderlines, I'd imagine its that much harder to do colours and whatnot.
And it's so beautiful. I'm giddy hearing my name in something so beautiful and so connected to how I feel. Space is one of my special interests as well, so it really feels like something I was meant to see
Oh my gosh...I'm crying. That was beautiful. I want to know more about what it means!! She starts and ends with the sun before her - is the difference that she remembers her past, and knows for certain she wants to go home at the end?
I liked it a lot and I makes me think this voyage in the outer and the temptations of memories are he same as an inner voyage .... inner self. A big 👏👏👏👏 for artists
This was great! Gorgeous and atmospheric and intense! I love these sudden glimpses into worlds with so much wordless narrative and thought put into them.
I really like this movie. It helped me to survive my fear of the cosmos, because it seems to me that it was in the boundless space that I would feel my loneliness even more acutely. Fine
Is the crosshair at 3:36 a visual reference to the way lots of the old apollo moon photographs have registation marks in them, to evoke the spaceflight vibe even more? Or was it just an animation error lol
The graphics and animate of this short animation are attractive and enjoyable, and along with a story with an up-to-date and coherent background, it is depicted very well. Since our work is animation production, we enjoyed the video very much. We are pleasures to visit our channel

No offense but it's so much better than even the best of love death & robots (Zima Blue).
@@xant8344it can compare to sonnies edge tho
I was thinking the exact same thing
You think you made a compliment? :)
@@xant8344That's not the best

It's because studying in Gobelins is trauma 😂
The amount of work and time and dedication that everybody puts into this art and animation is really awesome.

Love it! It's great how well the 3D bgs work with the 2D character. Also, this kinda feels like an Love, Death & Robots episode.
Not many things I can call absolutely captivating. This is one of them, remarkable job
What...why are the comments so insane? Like bad? What is happening? This is a gobelins artwork film....
Freaking phenomenal. Such a balance between amazing storytelling and breath taking art.
Built like a pixar mum, someones trying to tap into my nostalgia.
The compositing is so magnificent
Beautiful. Thank you for this.

This gave me chills I’m so glad I wasn’t watching this at night and instead at 5 am

I'm over here learning
I loved the song, where can I find this song??? I need it!
Incredible! Fantastic art style, aesthetic, story telling and editing are superb.
IT'S SO MUCH SCARIER WHEN IT'S YOUR NAME
And it's so beautiful. I'm giddy hearing my name in something so beautiful and so connected to how I feel. Space is one of my special interests as well, so it really feels like something I was meant to see
That was absolutely amazing, I hope all of the artists are gonna work on bigger project
The transitions are so amazing !!!! WOW

It's the song ''Listen'', composed by Mathieu Vilbert ! th-cam.com/video/dRdgeNxBKVE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1VzG-lgTP7_PW7rR :)
Omg je crois que c'est la meilleure animation que j'ai vu des Gobelins jusqu'à présent, énorme bravo à tout le monde
Remember folks, if some hallucination bothers you, get some sunlight and all is well 👍
Breath takingly beautiful.
Talented Chinese group!❤
Wow! what a beautiful, mind bendy art piece!
Oh my god that ending sequence gave me absolute chills. Freaking out rn.
Oh my gosh...I'm crying. That was beautiful. I want to know more about what it means!! She starts and ends with the sun before her - is the difference that she remembers her past, and knows for certain she wants to go home at the end?
I'm ready to watch.
This is just *beautiful* beyond words!!!
As it started with her attempt to roll some sort of smoke and her panic of dropping it I assumed she was suffering from hallucinating withdrawal
I liked it a lot and I makes me think this voyage in the outer and the temptations of memories are he same as an inner voyage .... inner self. A big 👏👏👏👏 for artists
So this is very well done. However, I have no idea what is happening other than this lady is crazy in space..
Just Wowzerz beautifully done
wow, that`s breathtaking!
Life support for your body is only half the necessary requirements... you also need life support for your mind.
Wow! Just, wow!
This was great! Gorgeous and atmospheric and intense! I love these sudden glimpses into worlds with so much wordless narrative and thought put into them.

Amazing work about LONELINESS AND CORRUPTION with psychedelic views.
Beautiful !
That was incredible
Everything from goblins is another piece of art
Amazing
I found this work hauntingly beautiful. Yet I'm afraid I don't quite understand. Could anyone please elaborate and further educate me?
Wow, formidable !
explanation : she needs the light of the star to make the machines turn on and communicate with the rest of the universe and be free.
i love the art stile
Incredible
HOW is this a student film?! It’s so good!
A perfect motion picture for Scarlett Johansson! 😊❤
This is beautiful
The mushroom factor is strong with this one.
This is so pretty!
Is the crosshair at 3:36 a visual reference to the way lots of the old apollo moon photographs have registation marks in them, to evoke the spaceflight vibe even more? Or was it just an animation error lol
Excelente. Habéis conseguido crear una atmósfera realista y atrapante. Me ha gustado mucho.
