Great riding on such technical trails. Fair play! Very good to hear your review and even better to hear how positive about it you were. Even more excited about getting my one now. Interesting to hear your comments on fork length. I was toying with 150mm, the same length as on my Orange Crush, but after hearing your comments I might go with 140mm instead I think.
This review pretty much reflects my thoughts on my new Stanton Switchback. I was comfortable on it right out of the gate, 140mm felt spot on, it feels light to ride yet solid, it’s quiet and super playful. I also put the TRP Slate 4’s on it and love everything about them except for the long lever.
Since the Pound/dollar exchange rate is at a 5 decades low, I decided to buy this frame. I have been wanting a steel HT to compliment my aluminum fuse. This is the one.
I gave my hardtail a second chance months ago from watching your content and have really enjoying riding it again. I started a hardtail FB group and it’s had such a great response. There are so many hardtail riders out there. Keep up the great content and I’ll keep sharing your videos on the group. It’s 1100 or so people and it’s growing really fast so hopefully that helps build your subscriber base as well.
Awesome review! I debated a long time between this bike and the Nimble 9. I ended up choosing the Switch9er because I wanted something a little slacker and with less travel, but I really worried about giving up the playfulness and ability to steer from the handle bars, that I knew the N9 would have. This review makes me feel pretty good about my choice. Can't wait to finally get my frame.
If you're riding trails like Ahab, you definitely made the right decision. Both bikes are fantastic. This swich9er is more compliant than the N9, and it handles rowdy terrain better. The N9 is more fun on flatter intermediate trails.
@@hardtailparty I know since this was all rider pov it can be hard for others to tell what your doing and just how steep the trail is. I will say that anyone who's been riding for a long time can tell captain Ahab is no joke even by a gopro.
Great Bike, great review, great Channel! Thank you! Luckily Stanton is back in business, the new shop went online, i just pulled the trigger on a switch9er ;) Cheers!
I haven’t ridden a Stanton yet, but I’d like to. I like the green. I agree with you on a few things you said. 130mm is what I would choose to run as well, like I’m doing on the Chumba Sendero. The mention of the bucking of the rear end when going too fast over the chunk is a real concern of mine on trails like these or the Dells in Prescott. It becomes hard to brake and can quickly go from composed to out of control and off the line you are intending to take. I enjoy your humble comments about some of the drops you would not even take on a full suspension rig. It’s obvious you were riding Ahab hard. That chest rig was bouncing and from watching you ride areas I ride regularly without it bouncing, this ride must have been extremely bumpy. Well done Steve. Really liked this one. -Nick 😃👍
@@hardtailparty it shows. Again, well done. My mom is done with chemo and won’t be immunosuppressed much longer. Looking forward to riding some technical lines with you on 2021.

This is a fantastic review. I appreciate the effort you put in to all your content. And that bike is a killer. I saw yesterday that Canyon released her new HT Stoic. I am curious to see that one as well.
Excellent review Steve, amazing bike and awesome place for a ride, hope someday will ride there! Stanton bikes thanks for make this possible now I know many riders will consider to buy this amazing bike!!
So happy to watch this review. I watched the build up and I was really impressed by the bike but not customer service. Watching u ride by full sus guys composed, fluid and having fun was awesome. Another great review and I'm glad to support you in your job/passion. Keep up the good work from down under. 👍
Riding Captain Ahab on my AL Middle Child was really fun. I wish i was fresh when I rode it. The day after riding Whole Enchilada did me in lol (I did take your advice and rented a Ripmo AF, which was sweet!)
Great review! I just built up a Chromag Wideangle mullet style with a 140 lyrik. It's like riding a bmx trail bike. I'm very impressed with the ride feel and nimbleness. Instantly comfortable and hitting and bonus features right off the bat. Hopefully you can check out some Chromags soon. The recent hardtails I've owned: Kona Honzo CR DL, Pipedream Moxie, Nimble 9, DB Mason, Redline Monocog.
Great review. Thanks. I just built up one of these last week with all the parts from my Cotic SolarisMAX (140mm X 36mm) and Hope Fortus 30 wheels) This is definitely more playful and pins corners. It feels lighter though it's actually heavier. Back wheel feels like it smashes harder. I have a 35mm stem. No wander whatsoever for me even on the slippiest right rocky gravel climbs. And pedals through the rocks without strikes too.
Hey man, at your convenience, could you elaborate on your experience with the solarismax compared to the switch9er? I am doing my research and have narrowed it down to these two. I was set on the solaris (mainly because of the light weight, but the chainstays worry me) but have always dreamed of owning a Stanton.
@@craigward_mtb I’ve put a few thousand km into the Stanton now. The paintwork is incredible and definitely harder wearing than the Cotic. Stanton is certainly more poppy and is slower climbing, but I love both bikes. I run the SolarisMax as a gravel commuter, longer ride bike that will still handle steep singletrack. Have done multiple 100km+ rides and it’s comfortable. However, I’ve since ridden the Ti Switch9er with the guys from Stanton on their local trails and it’s beautiful i would buy that today if I had the funds.
@@reeksyofoz thanks for the info!!! I have a couple follow up questions. 1. If you had to go race at a pump track or dual slalom, which would you grab on the way out the door? 2. If you had to race down a double black, or ride an Enduro stage race which one would it be? 3. And lastly, which bike would you take on an all day ride consisting of blue and single black trails. Sorry if these are a lot of questions haha. Just really trying to understand the bikes. I've stared at the geometry charts and have built an understandin, but there is no better way to understand the bikes from hearing it from someone who has rode both.
If reeksyofoz isn't able to answer those for us and you need more details, that's exactly what my bike consultation service covers. But if he can get ya the info you need, you've saved some money.
So awesome! I applaud you for such detailed reviews - many thanks! Along those lines, I'd love to see a comparison of the Switch9er and the Sherpa. Cheers
Just signed up for Patreon Steve. I watch a lot MTB youtube content and this is simply some of the best out there. P.S. However, I do fully expect they'll be sending you some bikes in '21 when the new models come out. I doubt I'm the only that's pestered them about this haha!
So many awesome bike frames coming out... Can't decide wich one to get maybe mid next year LoL Awesome video as always. Your videos always get my mood up no matter how bad my day was!
Thank you for your reviews. I don't think I'm gonna buy any hardtail unless I hear your thoughts about it first. Holding off on the giant fathom or potentially the Canyon Stoic when it becomes available, but first I'll be waiting for your review on them.
Nice. Yup, I'm working on it. I actually received the stanton a few months before the marin. So it's taking a bit of time to review and edit that video.
@@hardtailparty you mentioned trying a longer stem. Dropping the stem will move the bars forward use the bar rise to get you desired hight. The more spacers you have under the stem is effectively moving the bars closer to you, less spacers will do the reverse 👍

Great bike, great review! I hope you get a chance to review a Nordest hardtail (Britango/ Bardino) at some point. They come from Portugal and make really affordable steel and titanium frames with great geometry.
Great video Steve. I was planning to visit Utah this year, and as we know, this likely won’t happen,so, the video fills a void in addition to the normal high information quality content. So good. I didn’t see but what pedals were you using here?
Super nice bike. I'm also considering getting the frame, but I'm not sure about the size. How tall are you? And what would you recommend to me with 180m Lg Luis 🙂
Great review and will check the option of being a patreon. I love seeing you ride over those chunky trails, but most of us don’t have such skills... What are the chances you will be receiving a reviewing the Sherpa...?!
They don't have any models that excite me at the moment. Also, I currently have more bikes sent to me than I have time to review, so I'm prioritizing popular bikes. I'll review one in the future, I'm just not sure when.
Really like your reviews. Any thoughts in having a comparison discussion video of the bikes you have tested this year? There are a lot of interesting bikes you have tested this year. 👍
I’ve got a fox factory Talas on my hardtail that has a switch to change it from 150 to 120mm. I have to admit I always leave it in the 150mm position but after watching some of your videos I think I’ll experiment with it in the 120mm setting.
@@hardtailparty it’s an Ns djambo eccentric. I think it’s a 2016 model. My local bike shop, Bikeworks ABQ had some frames they were selling a few years ago and I built it up ( sorta, they did some work that I didn’t trust doing myself) it’s a fun bike but I admittedly don’t ride it enough since I primarily ride my full squish and have let buddies that don’t have bikes ride the Djambo. I have done some upgrades lately like finally getting a dropper for it and got a sweet deal on some Carbon Rovals that were on sale(it’s got 142 spacing in the back).
Wow, you definitely put that steel hardtail through its paces. Of course you have the skills and the will. I have a Esker Hayduke which, as you know is an inexpensive 4130 Chromoly frame. I also have a Sir9 from a few years ago, it’s a Reynolds 853 mid priced frame. I’m just curious about your opinion on the real value of buying a mid priced or maybe high priced steel frame versus just getting an inexpensive steel frame?
Thanks. Yeah, this is the perfect trail to push a steel hardtail to its limit. To answer your question, it depends on the geo and ride quality. I've ridden cheap bikes that ride great, and I've ridden expensive bikes that rode awful. It's a tough combination: ride feel, geo, price, looks, features, etc. It's hard to find a bike that's got it all. That doesn't mean we're should stop trying though. :) I'm fortunate enough to have ridden a bunch of hardtails. I learn something from each one.
@@hardtailparty so true, so many other factors involved and boils down to what you are doing with the bike and does it check all the boxes. I do think that many frames are overbuilt and give a harsh ride, especially to a skilled rider that only weighs 160 or less. Perhaps branded steel might have a better feel if I it’s purposely built and has good geo.
If you liked this bike, you should check out the Bird Zero. Fairly similar geometry and they have a steel model coming out soon. I'll be bringing mine to Sedona for the month of January if you ever want to try one - though I ride a size L
It depends. There's no clear winner for every trail and riding style. If you'd like personal bike recommendations and comparisons, i do that on Patreon. Patreon.com/hardtailparty
I'd love to try one someday. At the moment, I still prefer my banshee paradox v3 and rsd middle child ti for my riding style, but this bike isn't far behind. It really is a great bike.
The US has some good stuff, but you have to dig to find the gems. We've got Reeb, Moots, Ionic, Sklar, BlackSheep, Spot, Specialized, Yeti, Chumba, Vassago, Santa Cruz, Kona, Canfield, Binary, Esker, Myth, Why, Jones, and so many more. Not to take away from the UK, they've got some amazing stuff there.
I went to school with Dan and he's always been a really nice chap, can't wait to test one of his bikes! All I need now is a hardtail so might consider a stanton? In your opinion how good is it( the switch9er)?
That looked really fun. Everytime I watch your rides or reviews it's crazy to see that and think "yea he just rode that." 😁 we don't get that kinda stuff here in VA/MD. Also interesting point about the fork travel. I remember you pointing that out in the Honzo ESD vid; that comment led me to a 130mm over 140mm for my current hardtail build. Would you say the frame is more compliant than the Honzo (you mentioned it not being overbuilt)?
Waaaah, we've got some pretty legit stuff in VA/MD especially if you head up to the Frederick Watershed. That's a perfect place for hardtails on hard trials.
@@matthewbenedetti490 Oh yeah for sure. Not to disrespect/downplay what we got. Just making the contrast with Moab being such a rock riot. What's your favorite stuff around here?

@@hardtailparty I think Nordest are a tiny company so understand them wary of spending money sending one over from Spain but think it'll help them a lot. Love the channel and where you ride, looks insane! Not quite the same here in London, UK lol.
@@ChownieNaturalMrUniverse I agree. It's a big ask for a small company to pay to ship me a frame here and back. If it rides as good as their fans say it does, I'm confident it'll more than make up for the cost in sales, but I understand it's a big ask. I'm super appreciative of companies like stanton and cotic that are willing to send me bikes to review from across the pond. There are some amazing uk hardtails out there.
@@hardtailparty too bad you can’t get your hands on one, its a very nice ride, perhaps a bit too aggressive for your taste, almost like Kona Honzo ESD. I have one built with Shimano SLX 12 speed on Newmenn hubs with Dt Swiss xm511 rims and Rockshox Lyric ultimate 160 mm fork, rides like a dream up and downhill
In Moab, I'd rather have the 29ee wheels due to all the square edge hits and holes. On flowier stuff, a switchback looks like nonstop fun. I'd probably run 27.5x2.3 and 2.4. On paper, love the short rear end of the switchback.
Good question. I would rate the ride quality as exceptional. The communication issues and less than amazing welds and paint bring it down a notch, especially for the price. But the ride is fantastic. According to stanton, the frame i received was supposed to be a factory second to be sold at a discount, but it was accidentally sent to me. Hopefully this review has helped them know where the communication breakdown was so it can be improved for future orders.
I like these sort of reviews more than the cookie cutter reviews that manufacturers love, even Stanton that is why they advertise to whom they sent a bike for a review. I mean I already know how the review goes, regurgitation of the numbers from the website and it is a fantastic bike. I know there has to be a sort of praising of a bike by reviewers otherwise they don't get a bike back, this is why the most common con is always weight compared to alloy or lack of rear suspension, which can hardly be criticisms when these are intrinsic features of a steel hardtail, it is like saying narrow roar racing tyres are a con in the off road.
You said you'd prefer running 130mm fork and 70mm BB drop? ( I know it's measured at 25% sag but still... I think 140 is the way to go but def listen to you on these things)... Super interesting review and build video, many thanks, I've looked at Stantons for quite a while now, such a cool brand. One thing that has kept me from buying one is being 6'2" I don't feel there's quite enough length on the Large switch 9er and the XL Sherpa has that overly tall geo (21' ST), interesting problem to have but I could be wrong there. Just basing it on ride feel of other bikes I've ridden. Effective TT 660ish mm is a nice place for me to be. I think 130 Helm might be more interesting on the Sherpa
Id prefer it with 130 but I wanted to review it with the fork it was designed for. A 130 shouldn't lower the bb too much, just 5mm. I'd take a look at the reach number more than ett for sizing. As seat tubes get steeper, ett shortens. That said, i haven't seen what the reach is like on an XL.
Hello, i would get a nice fork with 159 cm Steerer. you think this will fit on this bike (16)? i saw you have some spacer. i think 159 cm would fit but only with 1 small spacer?
What do you think about riding the bike in a mullet setup with a plush 2.6 650b rear wheel? Could that work regarding the slightly slacker angles and the BB-height? My hope is that the slacker angles combined with the agility of the smaller rear wheel could make it more versatile in the rough and quick.
In my opinion, it would be slower on this wheel. In order for a mullet to really be an advantage, the trail has to be super steep; so steep that you're on the brakes for most of the run. Otherwise, a 29er in back will be faster and smoother in the rough. I think a 130mm fork will make this bike perfect for how i like it.
I wanted to follow up on this since I ride the frame for nearly two years now. My setup is with a 130-160 dual position Pike that I barely ever ride low. Half a year ago I switched to 650b with a 2.6er tire in the rear. Best decision! Can't say that it's slower. Now I ride absolutely everything on that bike and it's really capable. Even in the real steep and chunky it's almost as fast as my 180er Enduro bike (just 5% slower). It jumps a lot better now too - stable and predictable. Absolutely loving it now :-).
I love that this review is taking place on an epic trail in Moab! When I see you take a bike out on Highline, Hangover, or Ahab, I know I'm in for a treat. Your reviews are the best! Just curious - do you get stopped a lot by people who know you from your TH-cam channel?
Thanks for the kind words. No, I rarely get recognized, let alone stopped on a trail. I'm still a comparitvely small channel. Most people would have no clue who I am even if I introduced myself as "hardtail party." It's always fun running into viewers though. It means so much when people stop and say hi. Here in Sedona I get stopped a bit more, since people are expecting to see me here on my local trails.

Congrats, that's awesome!
This video is the reason I want a Switch9er Steve. The way you charge aggressively and the bike just wants more.
Man you have some crazy skills on a hardtail. I could hear all the little bunny hops you are doing.
Thank you. It's hard to see what I'm doing, but yes, i bunnyhop many, many times on a trail.
@@hardtailparty I know since this was all rider pov it can be hard for others to tell what your doing and just how steep the trail is. I will say that anyone who's been riding for a long time can tell captain Ahab is no joke even by a gopro.
Great Bike, great review, great Channel! Thank you!
Luckily Stanton is back in business, the new shop went online, i just pulled the trigger on a switch9er ;)
Cheers!
Congrats, it's a great bike. I hope to have Dan on the channel soon.
Thanks for another honest review and the discount code on the hip pack.
Enjoy, it's a killer pack.
-Nick 😃👍
Thanks Nick. It was a wild ride. Fortunately I've ridden this trail a lot and I am starting to get comfortable on it.
@@hardtailparty it shows. Again, well done. My mom is done with chemo and won’t be immunosuppressed much longer. Looking forward to riding some technical lines with you on 2021.

Awesome ! Purchased a waist pack .
Great review as always. I have the Switchback FS and it's awesome. Thinking of swapping my BFE hardtail for a switchback, need to get a test ride in soon.
Another Cotic / Stanton fan boy.... Can't fault you mate! 😁 Just wish I had a more understanding financial controller.. So I could have one of each 😂
@@MTB_Derbyshire haha, my financial controller rides too, so I'm lucky in that regard 😁
i just recently discovered the Switch FS. I think this is the one for me to supplement my Ti Hardtail with. Lovely Bike!
@@mcsweeneys3383 Highly recommended. I've had mine for 6 months and love it. It's very progressive, so coil or big can air shocks only.
This is a fantastic review. I appreciate the effort you put in to all your content. And that bike is a killer. I saw yesterday that Canyon released her new HT Stoic. I am curious to see that one as well.
Ugggh. I’m agonizing over selling my ibis mojo 3 to get the switch9er. Over the last year I’ve fallen in love with steel hard tails.
Thanks for the support BigShan, I really appreciate it!
@@hardtailparty your welcome Steve, love your work mate
Riding Captain Ahab on my AL Middle Child was really fun. I wish i was fresh when I rode it. The day after riding Whole Enchilada did me in lol (I did take your advice and rented a Ripmo AF, which was sweet!)
Oh wow, yes. So much respect for riding both those trails on a harstail. I've vowed never to ride the whole enchilada on a hardtail again.
Love it!!! Good to see. Thanks! 🤘
You did a really exhaustive and informative comparison . One point though, yours is the taiwan tubing version
Cheers

@@hardtailparty You're welcome^^
Thank you for your reviews. I don't think I'm gonna buy any hardtail unless I hear your thoughts about it first. Holding off on the giant fathom or potentially the Canyon Stoic when it becomes available, but first I'll be waiting for your review on them.
love this review. still patiently waiting on the full review of the Marin El Roy. :( loved the first look on that bike. :)
Nice. Yup, I'm working on it. I actually received the stanton a few months before the marin. So it's taking a bit of time to review and edit that video.
Thanks to your review, I went ahead an ordered a Stanton Sherpa. I’m not an aggressive rider so I opted for a more toned down bike with 120mm fork.
I have one coming in for review soon. I can't wait to get it. It looks awesome!
What about a Switch9er with a 120mm on it? So you can enjoy a slacker head angle? Would it change the geo too much?
Great review. Slam the stem and go to a higher rise bar! Love my Switch9er best 29er HT ever!
Curious why do you recommend slamming the stem and going with a higher bar?
@@hardtailparty you mentioned trying a longer stem. Dropping the stem will move the bars forward use the bar rise to get you desired hight. The more spacers you have under the stem is effectively moving the bars closer to you, less spacers will do the reverse 👍
I wish that I live some where else than Iran, so I could support you man... 😢 anyway keep up the great work man!
I really wish I'd found your channel before I picked up my hardtail. Nukeproof Scout 290 here in the US, seems about as rare as a unicorn. I can't complain though. It's an awesome ride!

Awsome that U found Stanton! Brits are good at this kind of frames, and us up in Sweden almost have the same type of climate and "mountains" ;)

Incredible riding! I'm a million years away from being able to clean captain ahab, and I'd be on a FS.
It's a tricky one!
Hi, I've been waiting for your review of the Marin el roy
It's still in the works. That bike is taking some time to get used to.
Really great riding skills. Hardtails bounce a lot on chunky tech.
Thanks Mike
It's definitely a good looking bike. Too bad about the paint job where its a little messy. But the color is awesome!
Good review, great riding! That 10:00 to 16:00 section made me want that bike even though it probably isn't quite right for me. ;-)
It is fun to see you amongst all of those FS bikers. lol
Love these switch9ers . Titanium review next please
I wish, that would be awesome.
Hope to order one soon. Bike for life. Although the yeti arc seems to get my attention too
Great bike, great review! I hope you get a chance to review a Nordest hardtail (Britango/ Bardino) at some point. They come from Portugal and make really affordable steel and titanium frames with great geometry.
I've been trying to get one for a year. They're on my list of bikes to try someday.
Great video Steve. I was planning to visit Utah this year, and as we know, this likely won’t happen,so, the video fills a void in addition to the normal high information quality content. So good.
I didn’t see but what pedals were you using here?
Just cheap shimano clipless pedals.
I'd love to review a sherpa. Given the current global bike shortage, it would take a while (if I even get one).
Great videos! You live in Arizona, why havent you done any Vassago bike reviews?
They don't have any models that excite me at the moment. Also, I currently have more bikes sent to me than I have time to review, so I'm prioritizing popular bikes. I'll review one in the future, I'm just not sure when.
Really like your reviews. Any thoughts in having a comparison discussion video of the bikes you have tested this year? There are a lot of interesting bikes you have tested this year. 👍
I may do something like that in the future. I typically save my comparisons for my patrons when bike consulting.
I’ve got a fox factory Talas on my hardtail that has a switch to change it from 150 to 120mm. I have to admit I always leave it in the 150mm position but after watching some of your videos I think I’ll experiment with it in the 120mm setting.
Let me know what you think. Which hardtail is it on? I should mention they i like low travel on slack, modern bikes.
I'm fortunate enough to have ridden a bunch of hardtails.
Hardtail on hard trail ....indeed 🤘
That’s very fascinating not getting a pedal strike lol
If you liked this bike, you should check out the Bird Zero. Fairly similar geometry and they have a steel model coming out soon. I'll be bringing mine to Sedona for the month of January if you ever want to try one - though I ride a size L
I reached out to bird a while back. Maybe it's time to contact them again.
@@hardtailparty I highly recommend it! The Zero has a cult following
Love your details on all the videos. Have to ask, Switch9er or Honzo?
It depends. There's no clear winner for every trail and riding style. If you'd like personal bike recommendations and comparisons, i do that on Patreon. Patreon.com/hardtailparty
If you could get the Ti version to sample...OMg...it may be your top bike.
I'd love to try one someday. At the moment, I still prefer my banshee paradox v3 and rsd middle child ti for my riding style, but this bike isn't far behind. It really is a great bike.
The USA needs to step up its hardtail game
The US has some good stuff, but you have to dig to find the gems. We've got Reeb, Moots, Ionic, Sklar, BlackSheep, Spot, Specialized, Yeti, Chumba, Vassago, Santa Cruz, Kona, Canfield, Binary, Esker, Myth, Why, Jones, and so many more.
Not to take away from the UK, they've got some amazing stuff there.
@@hardtailparty that's true, I forgot about a lot of those
I went to school with Dan and he's always been a really nice chap, can't wait to test one of his bikes! All I need now is a hardtail so might consider a stanton? In your opinion how good is it( the switch9er)?
When will we see the El Roy review?
It's taking some time to click with that bike. I need more time on it. It's going to be a few more weeks at least.
It's too long in the 'regular' size I would imagine for Steve's proportions
It's not the sizing that's the issue.
It's very close to the ESD's compliance.
@@HouseThatJackBuilt No that’s a fair point of course. I love the Shed but Patapsco is such a perfect place for fun on a hardtail. You can’t beat either one though.

Great review thanks! I forget if you mentioned this before, but what offset are you running on the fork? I'm kicking around the idea of building one up and I have a Fox34 with 51mm offset laying around. I think I can cobble together a killer hardtail with the stuff I have lying about.
44mm offset
You should try the Nordest Bardino!
Got one myself, an awesome bike! Would love to see a review on the Bardino, I mean I know it's great but would love to see more. So little on TH-cam on it.
I'd love to review one, but I haven't had any luck getting one in. I'm not sure all companies see a value on sending a frame for review on TH-cam.
Could you potentially do a stanton switchback review? Compare the switch9er and switchback?
I'd like to do that one day. Unfortunately, I don't have a 27.5 fork to build one up.
Do you think you would like this bike more than a Stanton Switchback with 27.5 plus tires? Great review.
In Moab, I'd rather have the 29ee wheels due to all the square edge hits and holes. On flowier stuff, a switchback looks like nonstop fun. I'd probably run 27.5x2.3 and 2.4. On paper, love the short rear end of the switchback.
Great review as always. This is the 4130 or 613 steel? Do you think it will feel different? Thanks!
Uk made 631
uhh that brake sound , just nice
Great review and riding as usual Steve!!
Would you rate the Stanton in the exceptional category?
Good question. I would rate the ride quality as exceptional. The communication issues and less than amazing welds and paint bring it down a notch, especially for the price. But the ride is fantastic.
According to stanton, the frame i received was supposed to be a factory second to be sold at a discount, but it was accidentally sent to me. Hopefully this review has helped them know where the communication breakdown was so it can be improved for future orders.
Any chance you’ll have the frame long enough for a 120 or 130 mode review? Maybe also show how easy the Helm’s travel can be changed!!
Very cool bike
Yeah, cookie cutter reviews that don't really say anything, or are too scared to be direct are a pet peeve of mine
New sunnies!
I love watching your videos 😍

Great review Steve, thanks, I was waiting for long time to see one of Stanton bikes here! Appreciate all efforts You have taken to destroy this bike on this rowdy trail section 😆. Your technical skills are a pleasure to watch and the only sign of how difficult it is, was when You had to stop talking to stay focused. Do You have in your pipeline reviews of other Stanton bikes? I will be more than happy to see someday a Slackline with 120-130mm fork on one of your epic trails.
I'm hoping to get a sherpa on for review next. The slackline looks like such a fun bike too.
Thank you for this review. How was this on the flat & smooth sections? Do you remember what max clearance is? Any info on how to order this bike, cause I only see their UK price?
I think you order directly from their website. Shoot em an email.

@@hardtailparty thank you for the reply. I do have some have some flat connecting fire roads/trails to the chuckier stuff is why ask.

Great review, neat bike. What does it mean when you say “front end drift?” And I thought you picked the fork and fork length on the build?
I try to review bikes with the fork travel they're designed for. This bike is designed with a 140mm fork. If it were my personal bike, I'd run a 130mm.
