I understood something: Besides the sound design( I believe every artist has its own unique sound design) and arrangement, maybe the differences between pro and others are just mixing & mastering
The hardest part and biggest turn off really is the kick. I have so many ideas for melodies and can play the piano quite well by now, but whenever I try to follow a tutorial on kicks I feel like the author is speaking another language. I just can't get behind it.

Also try putting blood overdrive on the kick, works really well in combination with fast dist on the master I found. As for patterns it's just 4 on the floor with some variation. I got the hang of it pretty fast but found out that many hardstyle tracks use a lot of distortion. Anything by Mqx is a good example.

Heyy!! I recommand you to just watch a lot of tutorials on youtube and practice as much as you can in fl studio or your other daw of choice. You'll be bad in the beginning but you'll get better soon and i dont know if there is really something that you should mess with first because you basically need to know a little bit of "everything" (daw, melodies, chords, sounddesign?, plugins, samples) so yeah! :) good luck and have fun mate!
