THE ELEPHANTS CAME TO LAKE -Bedtime stories for kids

A long time ago, there was an empty village where only rats lived. They made tunnels in the broken houses and had fun every day. It was their happy home.
One day, a big group of elephants walked through the village. They were on their way to a lake.
The elephants did not see the rats’ tunnels. Their big feet crushed the tunnels and homes of the rats.
“Our homes are ruined!” cried the rats. “We must stop the elephants from coming back!”
The rats called a meeting. A brave rat said, “Let’s go talk to the elephant king and ask for help.”
The rats followed the elephants to the lake. They found the king of the elephants.
One small rat said, “King Elephant, your herd crushed our homes when you walked through the village.”
The elephant king was sorry. “I didn’t know you lived there,” he said.
“Please don’t walk through our village again,” said the rat. “If you do, we will lose our homes forever.”
The elephant king promised, “We will take another path. Thank you for telling me.”
Later, hunters came to the lake. They set big nets to trap the elephants.
The elephants got stuck in the nets and were tied to trees.
The elephant king sent a free elephant to the rats’ village. “We need your help!” he said.
The rats quickly ran to the forest. They saw the elephants tied up.
The rats used their sharp teeth to chew the ropes. One by one, the elephants were freed.
The elephant king said, “Thank you, dear friends! You have saved us all.”
The elephants found a new path to walk.
They never hurt the rats’ village again.
The rats were happy, and the elephants and rats became good friends.
They lived in peace for many years.
