  • IEEE802.1W - Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol
Today I will talk about how Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol and its main differences from the original STP IEEE802.1D. These differences include 1) port roles 2) port states 3) Link type 4) Rapid STP’s faster topology change detection; 5) Rapid STP’s faster convergence.

You manage to make everything simpler. I was first told about your channel by my lecturer when it came to IP subnetting, which you also managed to make simple. Thanks a lot!

Hello Sunny. The picture of topology at 1:37 is wrong if the D device is a switch (I assume so, becouse you've mentioned Edge Port). If it is a switch, then one of the links on the D device will be alternate and both links of B towards D will be designated.
From my knowledge if you use topology 4:30 and connect two cables of switch2 to the hub, then one of the ports will become "Backup", as it will receive BPDU from the same switch but different port (lower priority or id)
