Been delivering for a shipping container sales and rental company for 4 years now and the way you drive under the 20 is exactly how we load the 40s on our landoll made me laugh we aren’t alone great video keep up the good work
The easiest way to do the bumper part is just do it like your trailer. But also think about look at rollbacks the only thing they kind of got for a back bumper is their stinger. And for the shipping containers I know you probably looked but they do make some pretty easy transportation setups without even needing to put them on a trailer. They got some pretty neat stuff. Hope you had a good Christmas and Happy New Year
I got myself a 1 way Container, 9 ft ceilings over the 8 ft. Makes a huge difference for storage purposes. Also, at what point would you recommend getting and using Docket? How many dumpsters should you be rolling to make it worth it. Thank you
Good content 👍 for me personally I would have liked to see how you got the container off the trailer. I understand it was raining so maybe next time a film that. Thx
Hey Clayton, how's the storage facility going, we haven't seen much of that lately and we'd all like an update! Thanks and Happy New Year sir! Congrats on 14.5k subs! Keep hustling! Brian
Just might need a new tarp soon. Extend your bumper on the dump truck if you put rails on it to be legal and for safety. Have a good one. Still just rain up north here as well strange year.
i like your video's but i think it is insane how you use vehicles and trailers like that! in new zealand we use cabover trucks with a hiab crane we can get into tight spaces and swing the containers in to place like say a skip bin or a container over a fence. I used to have a cabover tilt slide deck truck with a winch and hiab crane which also towed a trailer so i could deliver 2 containers or several bins at once.
Interesting! you're seeing my videos in New Zealand?? I know what you mean. What are your "state" or federal laws on operating trucks over a certain gross vehicle weight? Or are there any specific rules. Are you regulated by a police force of sorts, like we are, the equivalent of our DOT?
@@rollingops we have weight limits per axle and have a 44 metric tonne weight limit for truck and trailer without needing a special permit, with a permit then nominally can go to 60 metric tonne and any higher than that will require a special permit and you can carry up to 100;s of tonnes. .I like you and your drive and way you present yourself and your business, often in business margins between companies is so small that the only point of difference is the level of service and presentation so i think you will compare favourably against competetitors thanks to you efforts.
Some advice for you! I would make a safety bar at the end of your truck so that a car cannot collapse under it in the event of an accident ☺☺, and please keep the content coming, I just love it brother greetings from Holland
If your container jumps the rails turn your pickup the opposite direction and your trailer will line up. Gotta leave the front of the container resting on the trailer and the back on the ground tho
Yea this was more of an example if you are nearly to the end and wanted to basically keep from dragging it, like if you were dropping it on a residential driveway
On the rear overhang, I believe it's 2 feet past your taillights I believe but if you put a taillight bar like your tilt trailer has you should be perfectly legal
@bat22man1 by legalities sake, a 14 would be your max, but if you're a wild and ungovernable man it all depends on how difficult you want to make dumping
You would actually be able to do it either direction and even more so if the winch was on the truck vs the trailer. However with the winch on the trailer, this only works so long as the load is on the ground enough to have resistance. I would say get a snatch block put it on the cable and chain to the side you need the front to go towards. This way you're not going back and forth on the ground, or getting any swing marks on the customers lot. Depending where and how the customer has it set.
Instead of buying shipping containers. Couldn't you just buy flat decks for the roll offs and build walls and a roof for it. Might be easier than buying shipping containers and then trying to adapt them to fit on roll offs.
If I added rails to the dump truck, I'd roll off flatbeds, containers, and large dumpsters! So I technically would still have a dump truck! Best of both worlds?
Any way to buy future shipping containers with wheels that match your dumpsters so you use sale trailer? Also what are those pants you wear off Amazon? I remember you talking about them in a video showing tools or items you carry on all delivery's. Thanks
I'm not sure I understand the first part. If we put wheels on the containers, it's really only for moving them around during placement, I don't think they are road worthy. But it would be nice to have matching containers to my dumpsters!
But the pants are called Outdoor Wet-Tex. Some people may give you some grief for how the look. But I freaking love these, and I know Keegan agrees. Perfect for the Midwest because I swear they are comfortable in 70 degrees and -10. They are durable enough as well. Especially for the price. www.amazon.com/BenBoy-Outdoor-Lightweight-Waterproof-Climbing/dp/B0834YHYKH/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=29J18AM5QJABF&keywords=wettex%2Bpants&qid=1703770014&sprefix=wet%2Btex%2Caps%2C788&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1
@@rollingops no I don't mean transport wheels, basically cut the bottom off your dumpster and attach to bottom of shipping container lol not actually but to explain it differently. So you could drop off a dumpster and pick up shipping container with same trailer. Maybe in just over thinking it
So I’m a mobile repair welder. I always just have the customer put a could have lights on in the storage container and check the outside out when it’s dark out, kinda the reverse on how your doing it. Also you could just stretch the frame on your dump truck, I’d be watching rear end placement on that dump truck
I'm not sure you can tell as well in this video, but there are 2 twists in each strap. It prevents them from smacking in the wind on these containers. But I'll be honest, it's nice to know what the red stitching is for, because I never did.
In the Dumpster Business? Give Docket a Try Today! www.yourdocket.com/rollingops/
I would paint the roof with cool seal white. It would help you on some of the heat too.
Nice suggestion, I'll look into that!
Just had my Docket meeting last week. I agree, so far it looks like an awesome system.
Nice!

Glad I'm on the right track then!
The rails on a roll off truck over hang 4’ but you have to have a icc bumper at 2’ in case you ever get rear ended
Thanks man!
Gaco roofing products are the real deal. I coating some storage buildings with it this summer. Powerful stuff!!
I'm pretty sure you may have introduced me to it. In the same week, my roofer said he was going to use it on my the shop.

I'll look into that! But I had the same idea for the bumper if I went that route. Happy new year man!
You need to put bollards, around the gas meters, be sure to locate, utilities, first
That's solid advice, I've always hated how they hung out
It’s really fun watching the younger generation figuring out the angle of the dangle like it is new technology.
Well now, it's really fun watching old people try to rotate a PDF file.
I’m pretty fluent with a computer. So that’s a no go.
Sweet building! Replace your lights with the new LED's as they go bad. You won't regret it.
Thanks! It's on our list for sure!
Use a j-hook chain like they use for towing vehicle. They fit in the container pocket holes perfecty.

Yea, that tarp is toast. Plan to replace it at end of year. And you're spot on, a very odd year indeed

Oh, good point. The dump truck?
The bumber on the back of semi trailers, is called, "Mansfield bar". That's what needs to be on the back of your truck
Yes the dump truck

I will! Thank ya!
Always look forward to your videos.

if put in the sult in plastic container should be fine
Yep!
Great video as always!
Glad you enjoyed! Appreciate ya
When are we going to see a video of you ramping something off that big flat bed trailer? It’s got to happen.
Or the ramp in front of the shop. I'll come up with something
could you just turn your truck wheels to the left and inch forward until the container is straight again?

I've seen guys do this. But then they try to resell the boxes for about $6k!!
Wouldn’t be as secure, durable or cost effective 🤷🏻♂️
The decks actually typically cost more than the containers.
Get those moisture absorbing buckets and sell to customers
Whats the weight limit on these trailers? what do the containers weight?
They vary depending on brand. Dumpsters that size are 2-3k lbs. Trailer axles anywhere from 14k-26k
Why would u get rid of a dump truck /mini excavator setup ? 😮❤
If I added rails to the dump truck, I'd roll off flatbeds, containers, and large dumpsters! So I technically would still have a dump truck! Best of both worlds?

Glad others agree!
You could make some guides that go into the steak pockets
I thought that, too! Because I love the idea of removing them. The welded ones get in the way and bend when we chain bind things!
Paint the same dark blue as the other container
Mate you need some bigger trucks seems your trailers are not cutting it anymore
It's an external battle I face everyday

Ah, I might try that trick as well. It's hard to find a really dark place around here though
With risk there's rewards.

Also your straps are backwards, the red stitching should be on the outside, so the dot officer can tell if they are still good or not.
