Does anyone know of a good cpu cooler? I bought one but the pins didn’t match. It has 4 when the motherboard has 3
Is the space for this series similar to the optiplex 7070 MT?
Wayyyyy late but the case is basically 1:1 identical so yeah
THANK YOUUUUUU
Did you have to make any changes to your bios for secure boot for the gpu or psu to work?
I had my secure boot off to begin with so I'm not sure for other that may use secure boot
Bro a question, the 7050 models have compatibility with the 8th generation of intel?
I want to know if I can update my i5 7500 to an i5 8500 but I don't know if the motherboard is compatible
Cheers
the 7060 supports the 8th gen, not the 7050. It only supports 6th and 7th gen.
Why chipset PCH don't have heat sink
Where is the link to purchase the 24 Pins to 8 Pins adapter?
MERCADO LIBRE
I wish i could do this but i need a 24pin to 4 pin because i have a newer hp :(
Where are the links to the parts you used?
I would imagine in the description but I haven't looked in there yet myself
im about to do this too
How did it go
@@umbrellasolutionstech Worked out perfectly. I ended up buying a 180 degree pci-e connector to redirect the cables. I wasn't comfortable with the cables being squished for too long. I posted my build on reddit.

Where are the links?
Is 8 pin to 24 pin connector safe?
Im looking for more answers cuz someone said its safe
Still running in the same PC today. PC is on 24x7
Do you think a rtx 2060 or 1070 ti will work? Planning to have a fsp dagger pro sfx 450w psu .. how do you think the thermals would do without modifying anything .. or is it that 1660 ti would be the best possible gpu for this optiplex .. i have a 3050 MT which is I think have the same dimensions as your 7040 .. TIA .. much love to ur channel
Hello can i put a gtx 1650 or 1050 ti with that stock PSU ?
Need atleast a 300w psu for 1050ti
Yes you can without any problems. I have 1650 on my dell 3040 with stock psu running great.
@@ahmadjmms Hi are u using Low profile 1650 ?
@@rokinos No the standard height 1650. I even overclocked it with the 240watt psu no problems.
@@ahmadjmms Ok thank u , because i heard that if u have 300 watt or less u gonna need low profile GPU
dude is it ok if i use like a non modular?
does anyone have links for the adapters
Is there any cheaper psu
What Adapter did you use?
$13 cable on amazon
Asicminer 24 Pin to 8-Pin Power Supply ATX PSU Adapter Cable
Search for it on amazon ASIN. B07CJ49NK8
Just got to amazon.com and paste in that ASIN
good info
Why don't just put all sistem in new corpus, then you won't need to think how to put the psu in place!
So weird my motherboard looks totally different yet we have the same model....
Is it safe? Will it short circuit?
its safe. the pc is still running to this day. its on most of the time, i use it for working at home........gaming on the weekends when my tv and ps5 are in use
@@umbrellasolutionstech Mine motherboard and psu died :(
@@DeathEzer it died after this upgrade?
@@romansalcedo2718 no
👍
Will not this create a negative pressure when the psu takes inn fresh air and gpu takes inn air so close to each other?
I did this but other way for my dell optiplex 7050m, but when i try to boot with it the gpu goes full speed, i read somewhere that the 7050m does a psu check everytime it boots, at first i had to unplugg the gpu power cable then start the psu so that the pc could do a psu check or something, then i could plug the gpu cable in and start the pc, i fixes this problem by going into bios and cliked always powermode always on, but the problem i have now is that if i want to shut down the pc i need to shut down the psu if not the pc will try to shut down and after 20 sec after i try to shut down the pc the gpu and cpu fann goes full speed, there is no light in the pc but gpu and cpu fan going crazy almost like the psu wont shut down.
You need a tripod!!!
Can a system like this run an i9 9900k?
I understand the whole "More power" thing for the video card but removing the in place power connections from the motherboard to the reader and drives is somewhat silly. You just increased the points of failure in your system by plugging into the modular power supply. You also increased the clutter inside your system unnecessarily. Yes you removed two cables running from the MB but you added two cables running from your PS. Kind of a DUH moment if you ask me.

@@NkosanaMakhubele And your reason for making a snide comment? Anger? Jellocy? Ignorance? All three?

@@aimz0fficial315 Silly comment. I have a 7050 which has the same frame and PS configuration. You can buy a PS that is a dell replacement that slots in perfectly. No excess jumpers and no case mods. 500 watts will run the box and a card up to a 3070 with no sweat. Thats what I did 3 years ago.
