- #Builtbythehimalayas | What Is the Tripper Dash | Royal Enfield Ride Pure Podcast
“Riders wanted their smartphone on the Himalayan, so we started looking and found a unique Royal Enfield way” - Matt Cardenas
In this episode of the Royal Enfield Ride Pure podcast, we are talking with Pawan and Matt about the Tripper Dash a full TFT 4-inch circle screen that can display a full-map view sourced by Google Maps. A perfect addition to the all-new Himalayan, that has everything you need and nothing you don't. Your next adventure to the Himalayas will surely beat the navigation blues.

Brilliant .... so much consideration and thought process has gone behind something which I thought was just a google maps screen on the dash.
this bike is going to break records.
The fact they are discussing such details. Emphasising on showing the hardwork and detailed work they have done to fix previous issues. Making us all believe that this would not be like the first batch of first gen Himalayan 411. The way they have tested the motorcycle. The way they gave the testing bike to reviewers to ride in such tough terrains. Also itchy boots riding the test bike around India without any issues. RE has been Bang on with everything. Product! Marketing! Accessories! Testing! Winning trust!
I like the fact there were quite a few references to listening to our riders. I often use ‘ things’ and wonder if the designers ever actually used the device they were making. It feels like the bike has been developed from the ‘test bed’ of the 411 and the new innovations are informed by actual rider feedback. Just get the price right guys and girls and this bike will set new records for RE.
@yellownev - You have nailed it! 👍
It looks good, they have done a good job. The only issue is that your phone screen stays on while its connected for Google maps. That will eat up phone's Battery. If they are able to just sort this out in some way.. I think it will hit the perfect spot. ❤
Congratulations guys! 👍With the new Tripper Dash you've nailed it. Actually, the new Triumpf Scrambler 400x was high on my wish list. Now I'm waiting for the Himalayan 450 or the Sram 450! Personally, I don't think telephone or music controls are very important, but the navigation is great - never have to attach your cell phone to the handlebars again.💪
Let's not forget your screen needs to be on the whole time you use the motorcycle display for navigation
@@InvictusCoaching it is the same when you are navigating with your smartphone! Additional you can load your phone at the
usb.
These podcasts are a brilliant concept. Hope they can bring in cruse control in a future update.
The tripper dash is super cool but one thing i didn’t like is you have to keep the phone screen on to use navigation on the tripper.
Yeah, definitely not thought out completely as much as they are saying and there is no offline map integration for their app either.
@@yuganter09 I Think this is great for now.
People wish can never be satasfied .
if you heard in the podcast they said that there will be future updates for the app and dashboard
if many people will insist after buying re might think about it and give us some updates
but i still feels this thing is great even if we have to turn the screen on.
no other manufucturer provide this facility.
@@yuganter09 didn’t know about that, Hope they will fix these issues with future updates.
This is a nice feature, the only drawback I see is the Google Maps part. My experience with using Google Maps in Mexico is that it gets confused often in some areas, like inside of towns and cities. When I first crossed the border I was looking for the place where I could get my temporary import permit, it sent me in circles. Other times it sent me down dead end streets. Of course, this is no fault of RE, just Google. Perhaps there might be a way to add Garmin navs, or another nav in the future? Other than that, the dash looks great. 👍
Ability to turn off your phone screen while the navigation is on and offline google map integration would've been a no brainer. But who knows they might figure it out for the next update if possible.
If only the smartphone display didn't have to be ON all the time would have saved lot of phone battery and heat
Absolutely bang on with the end product of so much thought.
I am glad there is a round unit and not a square one cos' I know, while most people would want a conventional cube rectangle display, the round one is just more apt to clusters on a motorcycle from history.
Besides, its know a round cluster is harder to break on crashing than the rectangular ones.
Kudos for this! Love the tripper dash, its features and clean design. I hope future updates can make it so that the phone screen can be switched off while navigating with the map view 🤞
Wondering whether the speedometer can display miles as well. RE had left no stones unturned for this mobike. Now that enough coverage have been made in Himalayan terrains, would love to see how it performs in city traffics ,highways as well to assess its suitability for every use besides its turning radius in view of longer wheel base , pillion seating comfort including saree clad ladies , adequacy of illuminations for night riding.
Royal Enfield please let us know why WIFI 5 or WIFI 6e not connecting to the tripper dash after keeping the same app security..
Kindly make the navigation work when the phone screen is OFF. It could be game changing.
All set ....for lunch
Kindly advise about comparators
One of the first likes eagerly waiting for bike
The navigation and the App update are amazing
La Himalayan 450 è senza dubbio la miglior novità del 2024🎉👍
What a bike! Will be my first RE if it fits me (6"6') aand if the price in Germany will be reasonable,
Please add cruise control and traction control.
Go Matt!!!
dam that ui and features, thats what happened when it is genuine and purpose built but not to show off, wow no reviewers covered lot of these, lot of times reviewers unnecessarily talk about tech though there is nothing much to just sound fancy but this time tech is beyond them i guess,
for how many days this podcast thing will go on😂😂😂
please make super moto version of this
Bengaluru dealerships will deliver in 3 months even for pre - bookers. So unfair. please look into this
This bike needs cruise
Control
Tu lega to agar cruise control add ho jayega pehle confirm kaar
I just watched a 16 Minute Ad.
