    This is amazing!!! I'm just curious though, where does the extra energy required to walk on a cushioned surface come from? (ie. you can't get something from nothing and energy out must equal energy in)
    I'm guessing this isn't about saving energy at all, but more about using a novel approach in brainwashing the public into accepting the baseless and factually incorrect idea that we are somehow critically "short" on energy works so well, without them even knowing it - making it easier to implement arbitrary controls on individual, energy use - without objection from the public.
    Clever indeed. Though lacking genuine intelligence...
