I just started in on KOF XV, and this video is a great summation of both the tips I’ve been trying to absorb, internalize, and put into practice and all the reasons I’ve been having such a great time right off the bat.
I usually just do single player stuff in fighting games. This is my first KoF as well so it had me feeling defeated a couple of times. I got past that and now, Been thinking about online a lot with this. This video was informative, it also got me convinced to just play online and learn from mistakes. The input tricks still have me confused. I know a few concepts but can't get them to work. The qcf (236), hcb (563214) is more reliable still lol. Need to figure out what I'm not understanding. The hold trick is the other, I heard it holds 10 frames but have yet to notice it working.
Yeah some of the input shortcuts are a bit weird until you learn them in a combo. The hold trick is also a bit odd because it's hold but...the window is still a bit small. It just makes sure it comes out on the first frame. Anyway, glad you're giving it more time! It honestly just gets more and more fun the more you put into it imo. 😊
It is what I totally now dislike in KoF : by allowing "comboting" in excess, spending more than 5 seconds to not be able to play is soooo boring. What you show in 4:05 just illustrate it perfectly : 14 seconds waiting the end.. much too long ! By the way, all you said is really pertinent for beginners. GG ;)
