Time running fast.. I was 19 years old in that time where I was a volunteer soldier with the Kuwaiti 6th brigade. I have no doubt that I was the happiest person during the liberation mission 24 - 28 Feb 1991 . I am still remember an A10 flying over us as an angel protecting our convoy heading towards Kuwait City . I am now a grand father living in peace .
Thank you all men and women of the United State
Thank you Mr. Jamison for this footage.

This is a most beautiful comment. It sounds like you went from a hell to some happiness, but I bet it wasn’t easy. But I’m glad it happened for you. Back then, I was just a toddler watching the news with my dad, seeing military graphics and footage of nighttime firefights only evident by tracer rounds. I hope you can keep living in peace, and that your family thrives.

Hard to believe it's been so many years since Desert Shield/Storm. I was part of 4th MEB aboard the USS Nassau with the rest of Marine Amphibious forces. A couple of years ago, I visited MCB Quantico to see a friend of mine who still works there as a government employee after retiring from the Corps. As I checked in through the gates, the female MP looked at the "Desert Storm Veteran" hat I was wearing and gave me a quizzical look. Then her eyes widened and said "Hey cool, I think my Dad was in Desert Storm *BEFORE* he met my Mom.". Man, did I feel old.

I had been a Combat Medic in the US Army for 2 years when this started. Me and other Soldiers were itching to get over there but it never happened for most of us. I wouldn’t get another chance to get into a combat zone until 2004 in Iraq. A lot of vehicles from the “highway of death” were still there in 2004 and are probably still there.

Patriot didnt engage the scud not because it was breaking apart by itself. They didnt engage because the radar had been running to long and the internal clock was off enough tocause problems with the system. The incident is still discussed quite a but in air defense as an example of why its absolutly important to follow maintenance procedures

I saw one of my friends I hadn’t seen for a while at a checkpoint. An old man (national) drove up and got out of his car and walked up to my friend and said, “I’m going to go down to the street, turn left and get my family and I’ll be back this way in about 15 minutes.”
My friend said, “You can go anywhere you want to sir, this is your country!”

I watched this, and I both learned broadly speaking what was happening from a combination of cited on-the-scene sources, and also info released via presser etc but that was also indicated and sourced as such, and then occasionally the commentary opinion of a non journalist important-to-the/events person
I felt nostalgia for this, and then irritation, given the shite around now. They want to be famous and important, most modern journalists, not correct and useful.

They knocked down quite a few SCUDs with Patriot. However, the number of hits I believe was exaggerated. Their use was still much better than doing nothing. It's been more than 30 years since Kuwait and a lot has been learned and the product vastly improved. I can't imagine what the Army has today, but I'm sure that modern defense systems like this are a LOT more effective now than what they were in 1991.
