I’m not into cute/girly concepts which was why I kinda paid Twice no mind for a good long while. But when I Can’t Stop Me came out, I gave them a second look. And even though I still wouldn’t consider cute/girly concept my thing, now that I know better, I really appreciate TWICE for what they are. Well produced pop music, excellent choreo and synchronization, ability to really embody and execute on concepts, very capable and energetic live performers, and funny members with seemingly great relationships with each other.

In the category of girl groups, they are indeed perfect. Whether online or offline, they have done what all girl groups should do. Online, they're never lacked of comebacks and they've released successful multiple hit songs. They have made comeback 8 times in 2018, but we have never seen their negative emotions on stage. Offline, they often interact with fans on social media and feel very approachable compared to other idols. They are one of the girl groups that I have a lot of respect for.
Your face when you played the song and Momo just attacks the screen 😭 Literally laughed out loud 😭 Also when Jihyo has her solo moment 😭 (Fun fact: Momo and Jihyo were being filmed while on a date together for TWICE's variety show, and Momo confessed to Jihyo that she was mesmerized by her during Alcohol-Free...literally said "she was even prettier than before, if that was possible" lmfao) Anyway, while you do talk a lot about MoHyo (which I appreciate since I love them lmfao) I think you've always done pretty well giving the other girls their flowers in the other vids! Props tho for putting in more effort here 😂 Love that you're doing the MV + dance performance format btw! The MVs are cool and visually stunning and all, but there's a lot of incredible choreo missing that you can only appreciate when watching the DPs. 1. 1:50 Mina's vocal tone is such a delight! It's always so pleasing to hear and so light and elegant and adds a lot of variety 2. 9:00 Dahyun really be killing it in this MV! Their early stuff is cute. Because they were young when they started out, a lot of their early music reflects that. I think they've done a really great job and progressing in an age appropriate way and growing up and maturing with their audience. However, they've always had a little edge to them underlining it all. I think you'll enjoy their early tracks too.

JYP really pushes for perfect synchronization in dances - Itzy is another excellent example of girls smashing choreo. They're not really my vibe, but I do appreciate a few of their songs and I really like how they execute their dances. You can tell they're a JYP group. Twice is just on another level though, probably due to their seniority in the industry by now, and how long they've all worked and danced together.
For discography, it's best to listen to it in release order so you can see there growth thru the years. The Korean releases first, then you can listen to their Japanese tracks next. Then their B-sides to complete the journey.

I know you're still getting through the main title tracks, but I would highly recommend you check out "Formula of Love" album, it's heavily 70's disco/80's sound that you liked from their previous songs. It also has 3 member unit songs (Push & Pull - Hello - 1,3,2) and Cactus (written by Jihyo) which is a big vocal ballad. I think you'll really like Moonlight, full English, really has 80's Whitney Houston type sound. If you think Momo, Nayeon and Chaeyoung are a problems, you should check out their 4th World Tour performance of Hello.

Notice the low budget feel of he set and janky fits (sorry, i love the group but gotta call 'em how i see 'em). But what drew me in initially was one member's voice, pretty rare in kpop and the biggest plot twist when you compare her voice to how she looks. LION - epic shit. Probably the first time they got a decent budget. Uh Oh - excuse me??!? Hwaa - WHAT. Is this kpop? Oh My God - wait...WHAT??? Dumdi Dumdi - so after all that, they also had THIS in 'em the whole time??? These are all songs from when they were 6 members. Long, sad, shitty story...look it up if you wanna. But actually their 2 biggest hits came after they became a 5 member group. That would be Tomboy and Nxde...but I would start with the 5 songs i listed above, first. GIDLE is my favorite because they are self-produced, self-written, come up with their own concepts, and come from kind of a shitty, incompetent company. They aren't the "prettiest," the "best dancers," or the best vocalists. Other than the leader/rapper, none of them are an obvious, stereotypical standout talents when compared to individuals of other groups. I have a hard time imagining any of the members debuting with another group under another company. They don't seem like much on paper, but somehow, when you put them together, they create some of the most incredible, interesting, kickass music. They're just incredibly unique when it comes to kpop girl groups. They're a scrappy band of misfits that clawed their way toward every bit of success that they've had up til now. Somehow, they put it together and made it work and now they're one of the, i'd argue, leaders of the 4th gen. They're hella funny and also unique in the sense that they seem to be much freer to be themselves than other groups. Might be because they're so independent and they've earned that status from a company that didn't really have any good ideas or any direction for them. Anyway, sorry for the essay. Enjoy!

LATATA - got to, it's their debut. Notice the low budget feel of he set and janky fits (sorry, i love the group but gotta call 'em how i see 'em). But what drew me in initially was one member's voice, pretty rare in kpop and the biggest plot twist when you compare her voice to how she looks.

These are all songs from when they were 6 members. Long, sad, shitty story...look it up if you wanna. But actually their 2 biggest hits came after they became a 5 member group. That would be Tomboy and Nxde...but I would start with the 5 songs i listed above, first.
GIDLE is my favorite because they are self-produced, self-written, come up with their own concepts, and come from kind of a shitty, incompetent company. They aren't the "prettiest," the "best dancers," or the best vocalists. Other than the leader/rapper, none of them are an obvious, stereotypical standout talents when compared to individuals of other groups. I have a hard time imagining any of the members debuting with another group under another company.
They don't seem like much on paper, but somehow, when you put them together, they create some of the most incredible, interesting, kickass music. They're just incredibly unique when it comes to kpop girl groups. They're a scrappy band of misfits that clawed their way toward every bit of success that they've had up til now. Somehow, they put it together and made it work and now they're one of the, i'd argue, leaders of the 4th gen. They're hella funny and also unique in the sense that they seem to be much freer to be themselves than other groups. Might be because they're so independent and they've earned that status from a company that didn't really have any good ideas or any direction for them. Anyway, sorry for the essay. Enjoy!
You should react to Fromis_9 they probably the most VISUAL group in kpop! My fav groups are (G)I-dle, Pixy, Fifty Fifty, Alice, Twice.....but i must admit that Fromis_9 visuals are insane! And No...they have cute bubbly songs too...but since debut they were add little spicy and girl crush...just a little...."Set me free" "i cant stop me" are full mature songs from them(main tracks). Btw some random kpop fans just generalizing kpop groups:

6. Cute bubbly pop - gone with most groups of 3rd gen....only few groups use elements: ILY:1, CSR
7. Cute Dreamy - Twice(in past) Gfriend, April, A-pink(in past), DIA(in past), WJSN(in past), Loona, IVE
8. Cute sexy - Most groups of 4th gen using it just a little....
9. MIX(messy) - Itzy, Nmixx, aespa
10. Teen crush - the most popular with new 4th gen group.
Generally most groups now don't stick too hard with one concept...
