    13:25 - Brett, you're not the only one who would see the "ChatGPT ladened dating simulations" as a bad thing. Isaac Asimov's book series that focused on characters Elijah Baley and R. Daneel Olivaw delt with this very topic. One of the early worlds settled in that series had a societal shift where everyone shunned interpersonal interaction for that of self-contained rooms. It became so bad that no one was forming real relationships with each other and thus not having any more children. Even with tech, like artificial insemination, they couldn't be bothered to have more children and eventually died out.
    Maybe Asimov saw our future when he wrote that.

    • @christianmino3753
      @christianmino3753 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@themomaw I mean, you can't blame all Nvidia users, I hate the fact that I have a 10GB VRAM, but as an exclusively AAA single player gamer, I value Ray tracing more than most people, and after my 6800XT died, and I was able to score a 3080 for $300, it was a fantastic option in terms of a replacement that gave me above 60 fps at 1440p with full RT in every game, which was NOT the case with the 6800XT. Though I will say, the 6800XT wasn't awful in terms of RT performance at 1080p. It was actually superb, and I only needed FSR if I wanted RT maxed out in cyberpunk, which I did, lol. So, while I understand the sentiment, Some of us need/want the best of the best, and at the end of the day, AMD has yet to outperform, or even match Nvidia at the high end. High-end NVIDIA cards like the 4080/4090 have more than enough VRAM, the full NVIDIA feature set (even though FSR is so close to DLSS) including frame gen without modding anything to get an inferior version of the technology and while they may be higher in price, they are quite simply the better product. Furthermore, the people to blame are out there, and they are the absolute morons who will NEVER go with AMD for no real reason whatsoever. The people who when you ask them why they won't consider AMD default to "Uhh AMD has been known to have driver issues" and don't have the amount of brain cells required to google "AMD VS NVIDIA price to performance" as people who just claim "AMD sucks" are the absolute scourge of the PC gaming community. Like, are you guys still living in the RX 470 days?

Whaddya gonna do switch to Linux? Yes! trust me you can do it. I made the switch years ago in my late teens. My technical proficiency skyrocketed. I wouldnt be able to get the jobs in tech, that I've gotten, without Linux proficiency. Its not that bad. Especially nowadays. Back in the Slackware days it was no joke.

Them making it so that even if you go to the Labs and have everything AI turned to off still results in you getting generative AI responses to your searches by default is why I've swapped my default search engine off of Google. I dont care if these features exist, but I don't want to use them. And if the only way to not use them is to avoid using the rest of the service as well, then that's what I wind up doing.

    I'm pretty happy with my Asus ROG RTX 3090 White Edition. Performs great, looks great, and its pretty quiet. I got it for a pretty good deal in the beginning of 2023. I paid $500 for it second hand from someone who was just looking to get rid of it asap. I wouldn't might getting a 7900 XTX since it is about 25% faster in non-RT stuff and most of the games I play don't really have RT enabled at all or its not even noticeable. But I'm not looking to spend $900+ for a 25% boost in performance yet. I may pick one up second hand in a year or two if I can get one for $600 or less. Though, the Hellhound Spectral version of the 7900 XTX from Powercolor looks mighty fine. White shroud, white pcb and white I/O cover. 👀💦

    I believe that next gen consumer graphics cards (nVidia Geforce RTX 5xxx, AMD Radeon RX 9xxx) is likely last generation we see performance improvement in game graphics hardware. After that grahpics cards that give more performance is likely way too expensive and are targetted to professional use.
    To get more performance, prices are going way to high for gaming, so in future we will see same performance but made cheaper. Like integrating whole GPU+CPU to motherboard using chiplets, with shared cooling and memory.
    I don't think there is enough customers to buy higher end graphics hardware, so game developers are not pushing requirements higher. Making highend game is expensive. Maybe we see some random simulation that is made for professional graphics hardware or something.

      @ironicdivinemandatestan4262 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think we'll see the end of graphics advancement necessarily, but we will see the end of increases in raster performance. Nvidia's stated goal for a hypothetical "DLSS 10" (i.e. coming in the mid-2030s) is to have as much done by the Tensor and RT cores as possible. So rather than the current architecture which is around 90% CUDA, 7% Tensor, 3% RT, we could see that bumped up to around 60% Tensor, 30% CUDA, 10% RT, with the raster capped at around maybe full AD102 size, but with the rest being a much bigger part.

      Yes, but market for those GPUs is likely professional use. While I beliecve that raytracing is coming more popular in future, it is still not mandatory in hardware.
      Gaming hardware is likely moving to APUs or everything is integrated to motherboard while giving similar performance as next gen GPUs. So buying Geforce 5xxx or RDNA 5 based card, it is not lack of performance that makes them obsolete in future.

    • @ironicdivinemandatestan4262
      @ironicdivinemandatestan4262 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@gruntaxeman3740 Sure, ray tracing isn't mandatory yet, but when consumer GPUs become increasingly capable of RT, developers will move to it because of the increased graphical fidelity and decreased effort of development compared to traditional rasterization. It'll be the same kind of paradigm shift as the one that happened in 2005 when unified shaders were introduced.
