Damn, i'm actually jealous of those who actually manage to build the custom cardboard setups like this. Not only it's very cheap, but it also allows you to set any steering angle you want. Because i have a cheap steering wheel, which can only rotate 90 degrees right and 90 degrees left, so there's barely any realism. I feel like i need to assemble one as well, just gotta buy some cardboard and another mouse
the steering is fine, but I have to spin the wheel at least 3 rotations either right or left for it to actually spin. edit: I don't have thick string like what you used, I tried using paper and thin thread but it is the same result.
