Nice. I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram, LSD. No CEL, no oil leaks (really!). Multi-show full-concours winner. I do my own maintenance. I'm never selling it. BTW, when I bought it from my doc, back in 2006, I put Bilstein M030 HD struts, progressive springs, thicker anti-sway bars, and lowered to ROW. The thing drives like it's on railway tracks, and no bump steer.
I was fortunate to have a chat with the owner of the Blood Orange at FlatSix 2022. Great story. Tremendous car. Great video as always. What lovely privilege to drive these master pieces of mod !
Great work. I love the 993. At the same time, I recently sat in one and the interior does look ancient. I wouldn't change a thing, it's part of its charm.
The 993 is such a beautiful car and Porsche has the best paint colors in the industry! That Blood Orange is stunning and Speed Yellow is always my favorite. The RS replica is right up my alley, I'd drive that every day, whether I had anywhere to go or not!
I truly enjoyed this video. wonderful presentation, i am doing similar things to my couple of 996es one will be like the yellow rs other i will leave with tiptronic more like the riviera blue one, these videos really give inspiration! :)
I would love a 993 to build and modify to make my own. Hell, any 911 but a 996 really, unless I was swapping the front headlights. Not so crazy about the front splitter on the red one, but the spoiler, stance, wheels, stripes and everything is absolutely perfect.
@9WERKS TV I don't know if you've seen Rench or something like that where he's building a 911 with a TT Subaru 6 cylinder, and Crucible Coachworks or something where they took a 996 and made an all metal slant nose for it. Now they're working on a wide body 928
@@leeevernden yes M033 is perfect for our roads, shame Porsche didn’t provide it for 996 too. But Center Gravity so resolving this with their new 996 products.
@@rroosenFB it was actually retune by Wayne aka Chipwizards. Very popular with 993 enthusiasts in UK to smooth out power delivery & make sure everything is working optimally.
Nicely modified by staying in the Porsche catalogue of parts, so everything is reversible. In the long term these cars will be worth so much more than any RWB "modified" 993
What a great opportunely to drive them all back to back. Not sure which I'd choose other than saying I'm not personally a fan of black wheels or roll cages. Andy's sounded lovely and I could live with LH drive I think.
Nice cars, nice detailed descriptions, nicely edited together...... Lee, please learn to change gear without ramming the lever around with such force! The synchro rings must be crying. Blipping the throttle does nothing to assist mechanical sympathy unless you're going to actually double de-clutch or use sustained revs to smooth the gear change and keep the car balanced.....
There was NOTHING WRONG with the standard 993....never was....but here we have some 'chads' who think if you throw 2023-levels of Porsche 911 money at a 993, you can get it to perform at 2023-levels of 911 performance. Here's a thought - don't like to old cars? Don't buy one and then 'modify' it to perform like a new car - just buy the new car. Leave the old cars alone - you're not 'that guy'.
If I wanted the performance, sound and size of a new 911…I would buy one. As I would indeed be somewhat disappointed in the outcome if that’s how I wanted a 993 to end up. Funnily enough, I didn’t because what I have is what I wanted, a 993 that I treasure and am passionate about because I love 993s. But thank you for your assumptions 🙏
Agree. The 993 and 964 are the best sports cars of an era. Appreciate them for what they are. Not sure what the point is to these cars, other than to push up prices on surviving original cars.
Best Porsche Channel on TH-cam
You are most kind.
Agreed!
964 and 993 are the pinnacle of Porsche. No doubt about it. I'd love to own either one some day. Amazing video, amazing cars, thanks.

What a stunning bunch of 993s. Fabulous work chaps.
This channel deserves a million plus subs.
Thank you kindly.

Chet is a top guy! Glad you got to have a chat, and agreed, a huge privilege to drive all of these cars back to back.
Great group test Lee, a similar 964 test would be nice.
Thanks, and great shout! I'll try and make that happen.
This was a fantastic video
Great to see 4 ideas of 1 generation
Maybe 4 997's next time?
Just purchased a '96 993, slightly modified. Love it!
Thanks for the push.
...what about a comparison between 993 C2 and 996 C2? Would be very interesting...for sure 👌
Great work. I love the 993. At the same time, I recently sat in one and the interior does look ancient. I wouldn't change a thing, it's part of its charm.
Yes indeed. Analog, mechanical car with simple, raw interior. That's what makes the air cooled such masterpieces.
Cracking video and review of these beautiful 911s.

Like always, amazing content! Thanks Lee
My dream Porsche is the body shell of the 993 Turbo, the MA2.75 and AWD.
Brilliant video Lee and the gang. Beautifully shot and produced. Really appreciate the time and care you put into your videos.
Alex Brodie
Thanks Alex, I highly appreciate that.

Fantastic cars, brilliant colours, great content as always 👍👍
Thanks John, I'm pleased you enjoyed.
Lee, curious as to how you think a 993 compares to a 996 being a 996 owner? Bias aside, of possible, which do you prefer? I have a 993 c4 iris blue.
I would love a 993 to build and modify to make my own. Hell, any 911 but a 996 really, unless I was swapping the front headlights. Not so crazy about the front splitter on the red one, but the spoiler, stance, wheels, stripes and everything is absolutely perfect.
996 are a great car, headlights are fine IMO.
I think Andy the owner will take that! Thanks for taking the time to watch.
@@9WERKSTV Thank you for the Porsche content. I'm blown away how many 911 builds there are on TH-cam now.

Fantastic!!! You’ve had worse days at work 😉 beautiful cars, all of them. Thank you.
Agreed!
This has to be the best way to do an older 911.
For me, has to be the red one. Beautiful 👌🏻.
The Blue 993 looks sensational ❤❤
Nice video I love the 993's
Another great video, thank you 🙏
My pleasure!
Awesome analysis Lee 🙌 and a great review of 4 same but different cars. I know we all had an amazing day in the process of making this happen 🙏
It was a huge honour to be trusted with the cars for the drive and film. Thanks for the steer of your awesome RS rep!
What a great video Lee - riviera blue is best one, of course just a little biased 😀
Haha, glad you like, Toby! Thanks for letting me drive your stunning 993.
What chip did u install Toby?
Lovely car Toby, I didn’t know about m033 suspension so I’ve learnt something there too.

What a joy, thank
Well delivered as always Lee- be great to see such a compare and contrast on the other 911 generations as a type of mini series if you will 👍
This is a great idea - let's see what we can do!
I’d offer mine up as and when you get to the 997 generation if that’s of interest. 👍
Worth waiting for 👌

Thanks! 👍
Great TH-cam for Porshe Mania.
Great cars, great video 🙂
Cheers Lee!

OMG... I want that blue MO33!
I love the 993. It's my favorite of the air cooled, however I also do love the 964.
Did the owner do the gundo hack and interior switch himself? If not where? I want to do it on mine.
He did indeed do it all himself, it's all documented here: 9werks.co.uk/articles/my-porsche-story-andy-brookes-gustavo
@@9WERKSTV thank you.
Love it

993 rs... what else!?
I'll take one of each, please
Painting over aventurine green?! Sacrilege.
I actually think Aventurine green is a super boring colour! I'd have done what Chet has done, any day of the week.
why the heck you drive any Porsche 911 under 4k rpm? If you are doing that you should have bought a Camry.
Ha! I call the 3 to 6 tho' band my loitering range. I haven't turned on the radio in years. I do get the stink-eye from Tesla and Prius owners.
right hand drive 🤣🤣🤣

Because it’s my channel, you absolute walloper. If you don’t like it, take your small dick energy some place else.
