You could use a different one but I don’t think it would control the ring light which is the best part
Love your videos! I have to share my experience. I purchased four back in 2019. I was afraid of using it. So, I decided build a Ring-light with the iPad and rock out. Why? I will tell you all later. As for now, save your money. Black Friday is coming and the PBX Photo Booth Conference. Don't buy anything yet!!! WAIT!!!
Which one do you recommend buying I’m hesitant about buying the salsa at almost 3500

Thanks for the video & info! I'm trying to figure out what Ipad to get for the salsa booth I ordered.. I'm thinking of going with the cellular option since I use my phone for my laptop hotspot in case I need to DL songs on the fly and also I might sent to booth out on its own. I've handled the 12.9 pro and thought it was huge & heavy. I'm considering the new Pad Air (5th gen) with the 12mp front camera vs the 7mp in older generations.. any thoughts or recommendations?
So the 12mp camera is only 12mp in the ultra wide view. The normal camera view is still 7mp unfortunately. But with good like 7mp is just fine. I would shop around for a used 12.9. And instead of cellular I run a hot spot mifi box from Verizon for the events that don’t have WiFi.

@@DJLoStax Thanks for the note back. I have a salsa on the way. Do you ever leave your Salsa without an attendant? The thought of doing that makes me nervous. Or is it good enough to have it in your sight while you DJ?
We drop them off often. Last night we had 1 at my event and another all on its own at a different wedding we weren’t the Dj for.
For the booth, do you charge for a certain amount of hours or do you leave it up for the whole gig? I would be afraid to leave it out late in the gig when everyone is a bit tipsy and could damage the booth.
I leave it up the whole gig. It’s the last thing I take down.

We drop them off and come back for them often. Actually tonight I dropped one at an open House. I’ll go back and grab it in a few hours.

Awesome that you bought another salsa booth i have two with 4th gen ipad pro with wifi n cellular service i plan on buying two more next yr ive been banking big time you should go with a 4th gen ipad pro it has a better camera pic on it. I referred you to a gig next yr in Detroit bc im already booked on that date hope they call you peace!!
Good info! I would wait until the PBX Photo Booth Conference. The salsa booth is proprietary item. IF anything goes wrong, you would need two. Why? Because you have to send back to California for repairs. I was always scared to use their app along with the booth. Love the aesthetic but I prefer a booth where I can fix it by replacing items from Amazon.

The cable that comes out the bottom of the base and feeds up the leg of the booth - is there a groove that it goes in so it’s not wobbly on the ground? If that makes sense?
Good question. Yes the base has little rubber feet on it to keep it from sliding on the floor. It also keep it up off the ground enough for the power cable to run.

What size / gen iPad do you use for the photo booth ??
I use the second gen 12.9 IPads.
With the second gen do you have to buy another face for the salsa .
what's a good price to pay an attendant to set it up and take it down for you?
I pay $100-$200 depends on the event. If it’s near by and they can just drop it off and go home for a few hours it’s $100. If they have to drive more than 30 minutes and it doesn’t make sense to drive back home I pay $200. I like them to be at least some what close to the event in case of any issues.

my thing is you have to buy the booth for 3000 then buy a ipad then lighting then the app why knot just buy a satnd for the ipad and get the lighting you will come out 3000 dollers cheaper

Why did u choose the Salsa vs another photo booth?
I’ve been to a lot of conferences and see tons of booths in person. For me it was the build quality, unique look, and the proprietary software. All of those things make them different than any of the other booths I’ve seen.

I actually don't like the look of it lol I understand, it's a way to be set apart.
