- When it comes to facing the music, the Norfolk Police Department never backs down. After being challenged to a lip sync battle by the Corinth Police Department in Corinth, Texas, Norfolk's finest went all out in their own version of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' 2014 hit "Uptown Funk." via.wtkr.com/U9R0N

This group of officers and firefighters won the lip sync challenge. They were on GMA after they won and were talking about it. They filmed it on a lunch break. The lead “singer” is the head of the swat team....he was phenomenal and so was the whole group!

Getting the timing right for the song and entering the rooms was impressive enough.
And how they added the lights to the motorcycles and cruisers and put their sunglasses on at just the right time...

@@BERERANGEL Because of the 24/7 schedules of the various jobs in the Norfolk PD, They actually only had time for one rehearsal. And this whole video was shot in one take on their LUNCH HOUR! That's what makes it even more amazing.

No, this is Chris Travares or Taveras (they tell his name on the CBS coverage on here) - I can't remember exactly. I have to watch that video again to be sure of his name. BTW......from things I've read on here, they DID win the contest!! With a HOT video like this, how could they not! So uplifting and fun to watch. KUDOS to all of them in Norfolk for thinking this up and doing a fantastic job! No one will forget this for a long, long time!

Khaled ElTokhy You need to learn how those statistics work, and ALL statistics. Anyone who is a whiz with numbers can make anything appear anyway they want it to appear. Take a statistics class for free or very low cost at your local junior college and learn what I mean. DOJ’s official statistics actually show that white cops use deadly force on white men at a MUCH higher rate, statistically speaking. Now that does not mean that I just said what you probably think I said. Read it again, and you’ll see that I am comparing apples to apples. If you are intellectually honest with yourself, you will check out DOJ’s stats and understand what they are saying. I’m a retired cop in California, and I can’t express enough how proud I am of my department and my fellow police officers who put up with an enormous amount of crap EVERY DAY. Lies are told about us, but some of those lies are not on purpose. An example is what you said about the disproportionate rate of “murdering young black men”. That is simply not the case. Like I said, check the stats for yourself and if you don’t understand them, please educate yourself and take a class. I did after retiring, because I did not understand some of the stats either. People with agendas can turn numbers into anything they want to--remember that. (Just like Hillary constantly polled WAY ahead of Trump during the entire campaign. I told people, “Don’t believe the polls!” because I could see what was happening only because I took a stat class! Good luck, brother, and feel free to contact me privately any time.
My father would tell me, whenever I would go out in my youth.. "if you ever come across a situation for whatever reason, and an officer tells you to do something, you do it! The rest will clear up later. Regardless of the situation might be, do as your told" Greatest advise I have ever received. I'm from a hard working Hispanic part of San Antonio, TX. I was never a bad kid, but things would happen when at a party or something, even getting pulled over. I always did as I was told, and was even treated as a human being. Too bad the majority of African American kids don't have a father to talk to them, and most are out there running wild.

I love the whole performance and that its a single shot. The lead officer and the elder lady by his side are especially amazing. Been watching since 2018.

The lead officer was incredible !he even looks a little like Bruno Mars his moves lip sync, and guestures we're Fabolous so insync . The whole Norfolk Police department had some moves !!! It was so much fun too watch I love seeing cops let their hair done for once and just have a good time !!!! People need too see this side of cops more often because at the end of the day they are just regular people just like us who only want too do their jobs!!!! With all the negativity lately surrounding law enforcement, this was a great idea! Regular public has no concept of police having a regular life which includes eating, having family of their own, etc. People actually state when they see police in uniform eating in public. This was a great idea to show that police/fire fighters are actually regular people too, just trying to do an unforgiving job which most of the time goes unrecognized.
Say that when your 7 year get shot in the head by one!!!!

I started watching these lip sync battles a few months back. This one wins it hands down! So just give the award to the Norfolk Police Department. Excellent sync throughout, great lighting, and lots of laughs as the team moved through the station all the way to the end.
