Never saw the film and never liked Billy Idol much, BUT having read the synopsis of the movie and the explanation of the song, I have greater respect for Idol and after viewing this video understand a lot. Billy could actually sing when he wanted to.
If you haven't seen the film and you feel you want to, hold off on watching this video; watch the movie first. Also, this movie seems to not have the attention and reputation it deserves. Among movies of that era, the 1960's, we hear so much love for Night of the Living Dead, Diabolique, Psycho, Repulsion, even Carnival of Souls ... but I rarely hear mention of EWAF/LYSV when quality horror flicks are discussed or listed. Not only is it a well made thriller but it contains a harrowing sequence that I won't even go into here, LOL.

Not sure how many noticed but there has always been a creepy suggesting of a somewhat incestuous desire for his daughter in this film, the way he obsess over her looks and touches her throughout the film. As if she is nothing without her beauty! Billy idol's song looks further into that darkness and proves the same thing. I guess this was done to cleverly bypass 60s censorship, I don't know, sometimes it scarier to leave clues ambiguously within the film and come to that conclusion yourself. Monsters come in all shapes and sizes.
