      Wow streamers act to get an audience? HOLY what a revelation
      Lol in all seriousness, yea some streamers are annoying af and turn it on a bit too much, but ALL streamers are being a character. Even the ones who’s character is being “real.” It’s a psychological quirk of putting a human in front of a camera and giving them an audience. Just funny to me when people act surprised that streamers are acting over the top. There’s a market for that

    I liked that this video wasn't just you being angry or dismissing (?) every single point he made. However you "missed" two things that he didn't outright say because, obviously, his chat on Twitch already knows. He said this in his response video to Joseph Anderson's critique:
    (I'm not trying to offend you or anything, just stating two "true" things that he said)
    - (11:18): yes, the bosses in this game have a "flowchart" that depends on your positioning. Basically every combo has different outcomes based on where you stand respectively (?) to the boss. Basic example, Maliketh's multiple "destined death airborne waves". He has 2 possible outcomes: either he does 3 of them and the triple slash at the end, or does only 2 of them and then does the "double shockwaves" after landing. This is caused on how much you're near to the boss. In most cases is "how near you're to the boss" but some attacks might have various (up to 3 as far as I know) "possibilities". Exemplī gratiā, Godfrey's double quick slashes,(1) if you roll diagonally and end up behind him he'll stop the combo, (2) if you roll into the double slashes and end up in front of him, he'll do a "chest high slash" (I wonder if anyone is stupid enough to get the reference), (3) but if you roll backwards he'll do another attack, but I'm not really sure of what it is (I haven't played the game in one month and a half and I've not experimented much on Godfrey). If I remember correctly it's like that "hitting the earth" attack (sorry for my horrible descriptions for them). By the way, this "flowchart" thing was also done by Bloodborne bosses (mostly the ones in the DLC, like Maria and orphan of Kos) and by the DS3 DLC bosses like Gael, but in a minor amount.
    Therefore, his point is that you can guess based on your positioning what attacks the boss is going to do thanks to the whole flowchart thing. I [opinion] don't think it's a bad design choice because it makes you experiment with bosses a lot of more than simply "learn how to dodge combos", and makes for it makes me want to refight bosses to experiment even more (let's hope for a DLC that let's you refight bosses like in sekiro). But obviously, it's just an opinion....
    - (13:18) he said in his "response to Joseph Anderson's critique" video that a "scrub" is a person who might be good at the game or not, but doesn't understand the mechanics of the game and blames the game/other random things when they lose (or something like that) instead of acknowledging their mistakes. LupineOs thinks that Joseph is a scrub because he doesn't understand the flowchart thing I've just said and blames the supposed "RNG" for the "different attacks" happening. I think he's right on that part.
    Either way, I agreed with some of your takes and with some of his. I don't agree with your takes in your other elden ring videos, but I think this one has reasonable ones. I hope this helped you in a way....
    [Holy sᚺit I need to stop using "" , seriously this useless block of test has more of them than actual punctuation lmao]

      @@weirdo3116 I'm not the one who made the claim, but I agree with lupine, Anderson is a scrub, he has been for many other games too (look at his pontiff footage from his ds3 critique). I don't think it's really gatekeepy too, I mean, whose opinion is more reliable, of one who does understand something or of someone who doesn't understand said thing?

    • @weirdo3116
      @weirdo3116 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lorenzo8208 what other games besides the souls games is he a scrub in? asking cause I saw plenty of people saying similar things in the comments to that video but I didn't see any examples besides the souls series.
      idk what reliable opinions have to do with it not being gatekeepy. if we say that someone understanding a thing is more reliable than someone not understanding a thing then that is gatekeeping, to me.
      let me clarify that I don't see gatekeeping as inherently bad.

    • @lorenzo8208
      @lorenzo8208 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@weirdo3116 if I have to give an example for a souls game, in his ds3 video (at around 30 minutes) he complains about Pontiff having 2 "unreactable" attacks, that however are so predictable you don't need them to be reactable to be dodgeable.
      If I have to give an example for not a souls game, in his god of war 2018 video (2hours and 30minutes in) he complains that the Valkyries have "inconsistent hyper armor", then he gives other "examples" and blames it off a "random chance of it happening(which is higher with the Valkyries)". If you analyze the Valkyrie footage, you can clearly see, in the clip where he didn't get hit by anything, the Valkyrie (Göndul to be exact) trying to dodge away but failing, and in the clip where he got hit, the Valkyrie not even attempting to dodge and going straight in a hyperarmor attack. Plus, in 3 playthroughts of higher difficulties each one, he couldn't understand that there are 2 different kinds of staggers (it's very long to explain, but it's basically that you can't always stagger bosses/enemies with runics or other attacks if you've already staggered them before with an opening of their own. It's more than that though), and yet I could with one on normal mode. He doesn't understand this mechanic and blames it off randomness (but atleast he acknowledges this way of thinking might be flawed)
      [Sorry if you didn't play the game and couldn't understand the example]
      About the last bit, I'd say that not really any opinion is valid on everything. You can't really ask anyone their opinion on a book if they've only read it partially or only know its story thanks to outside sources. If someone doesn't understand something, their opinion is valid but it has to be taken with a grain of salt. If I ask someone who doesn't understand how Maliketh works (like Joseph), how to beat him, they'll probably say "oh yeah, he purely relies on RNG and the only openings you're gonna get is with the claw, unless you switch your build to a spellcasting one while using also the mimic tear". But if you ask someone who does understand how the fight works, you'll get tips on how to defeat him, probably. Sorry for the very stupid example, but it's kinda my point. Joseph's opinions (on many things) still stands but are factually (and therefore, objectively) wrong and should be taken with a grain of salt.

    • @weirdo3116
      @weirdo3116 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lorenzo8208 for that valkyrie He mentions how it could be hyper armor that either triggers on certain attacks or it's gained after recieving a certain ammount of damage but that it doesn't make sense. He then mentions the random chance but says how he doesn't think that's the case since it works more often than not giving an estimate of 90% for attacks with staggers (except for the vals which have a lower chance). He does say it could still be random chance but that it doesn't make sense and instead gives another reason. That sometimes enemy attacks are qued up back to back and sets them in stone as unchangeable unless they die. and he suspects that when actions are qued up they can't be staggered.
      Now he can still be wrong but he absolutly doesn't blame it on randomness
      that last part sounds like gatekeeping to me. nothing about an opinion's validity or if it stands or not has to do with gate keeping. if you are saying that his opinions on many things are factually wrong and should be taken with a grain of salt that is gatekeeping. it's saying his opinion doesn't met the standard of a reviewer and because of that it shouldn't be taken as seriously as say someone like Lupine.
      I'd say someone saying to switch your build and/or use mimic tear are tips to defeat Maliketh. It may not be the tips they are looking for but they are useful tips.

    I've tried to have discussions about ER and even if I disagreed with someone else, and vice versa, that was the end of it. We agreed to disagree about certain aspects and left it at that. But I never tried to gatekeep anyone. But to some people, any form of criticism = we just don't like ER or Souls games in general. I've been playing since the first DS and even though that game is my favorite in the franchise, I can still acknowledge its flaws. It's funny how he calls you the gatekeeper... but what does that make him?

No magic, no summons, no shield, I don’t even where a chest piece anymore(for fashion tho) but I can still hit for over 1k on a jump attack. Lupine had a valid point there, all in all it was a good response vid tho.

    Haven't watched the video all the way through and I haven't played the game in a while so my feelings on it aren't fresh as seen with some of my past comments I had some disagreements but you had some points there's always give and take with reviewing like you can dislike a game and I do like how you admit one of your weaker points was the fire Giant in that video,
    the way this guy was handling you was like how Hassan handles topics on twitch where he just pauses the video and chooses something to attack without further context I think one of the points that I had a problem with back in the day (I'm too lazy to go through my comments) was the fact you did have low vigor I think for Radahn I think that's a fair assertion (he definitely did not word it properly) from the vigor you have it was either in the teens with talismans to boost your vigor or it was like 20 to 25 somewhere around there and I don't know if past me brought it up but it was definitely a thought of how did you get through the area before fighting him because say the T-Rex dogs they could hurt really bad if they hit you and had really good closing speed if you weren't on torrent but honestly that was an ancient video by this point in time and many different opinions have been made,
    What the hell happened to the video? It went down for a while and now it's back up what happened?
    Yeah PVP not very fun with more time under my belt I have invaded and I can count on one hand the amount of times I've invaded people and they've been alone I'm just not the greatest time I don't know if they've changed that recently because I haven't played in like a month but damn it was just painful sometimes even though it's easier to get into invading now because of their changes running into three v ones all the time is just annoying now doing the standard 1v1 dueling PvP that's actually pretty nice,

    Imma really comment on a six month video lmao but
    I think invading and getting ganked isn’t really a bad thing. Being outnumbered/ganked is, (IMO! MY OPINION?!??!)
    kind of the point.
    You’re invading a players world. You’re taking out a group of people or a player with the sole intention of killing them. You’re not exploring the world, you’re not even interacting with enemies in most cases. You’re there to make them die, and part of the risk, part of the fun part of “invading a player” has always been the risk of a group taking you out or directly hunting you down.
    Why wouldn’t it be?
    You’re the invader in their world. Why would you NOT get ganked? When a group sees someone invaded their world, that’s EXCITING. You’re the interloper the outsider. Where are they? When are they gonna attack?
    If you have the chance to kill someone ruin their potential run up to the boss or they have potentially a lot of runes to lose, then there should be more of a challenge to the invader. You’re coming into their world fully prepared. They might be 1 health point before death and desperately trying to get their friends to help them survive.

The way he reacts to your points is so over-the-top, he's acting like you murdered his pet, when all you did was criticise the game. The amount of times he takes your points out of context is also incredibly asinine too.

Not trynna hate, just speak truth here, there seems like a big hug box here in the comments and i felt compelled to say something + being buzzed made this funny. ☮

    ER is more engaging than DS3 in pretty much every way, including pvp. Just admit you want ER to be a reskin of DS3. It's fine if you do but I don't think it would be nearly as good. Also, lupine pretty much took down all of your points.

      @@thatguybis1997 Dark Souls 3 PVP is all about abusing a lot of glitches that the games has. But if you take those out of the equation, DS3 pvp is not as engaging as ER, most of the things that you can do in DS3 can be done in ER and it's way better.
      Straight Swords don't feel as bullshit now because the range is good and it doesn't blow half HP bar of your opponent away, backstabs feel so much better to execute, Ultras don't get shit on, magic/miracles are actually fun to use, powerstancing is back, and jumping attacks/dodges, variety of AoW to use with different build and weapons, etc. Makes me like ER more now (patch 1.07)

    The problem with disliking his approach to your videos can be applied to how you approached the response you got from others about your radahn boss review,
    You chose to make another video about a patch that then later got reverted after the video was made, in an attempt to clown on the people for finding your video incredibly flawed

    • @thatguybis1997

      Sure, but there’s a difference between making a joke, and being an asshole just because you disagree with someone.
      I still find that video funny to this day, even though the patch got reverted, and even though I admit that the Radahn video wasn’t one of my greatest moments.
