i love these two so much. Their chemistry is through the roof. I normally was never interested in younger male/noona relationship because it feels weird. BUT, this one steals the heart of many. Their characters development and relationship are multi layered and multi dimensional. None of them are goody two-shoes / typical heroes. Lee Jae Wook successfuly portray Jang Uk character with the right balance between pampered, rebellious, hot-headed young man and masculine tenacity and courage, which make him charismatic and charming as a male lead. Meanwhile, So Min is equally superb as Mu-Deok / Naksu. It's not easy to pull off the duality of this character. Imagine having a cute face and limited physical power, but with the heart of a dragon warrior, a cunning mind and thirst for revenge. She could be powerless and vulnerable, but she is never a maiden in distress. So Min did a great job balancing that physical vulnerability and strength of mind, and viewers can obviously see it consistently throughout the episode. Their relationships are born out of dependency and eventually respect for each other. None is dominating the other. While she has that tough noona and bootcamp mentor vibe, but her guidance are eventually supportive, doesn't eclipse Jang-Uk's coming of age process. I also love how Jang Uk look up to her but also very protective of her vulnerable state. Eventulaly she makes him SHINE while he makes her LOVEABLE to the viewers. It's what's very charming about this drama and its actors. They really have done a great job.
Yup,totally agree with you!Pupil/Master couple seems pretty weird but due to the plot/storyline,comedy,and suspense of this K-drama they seem to be the one for each other,since the only master for Jang-Uk is Mu-deok/Naksu,and of course the only aquintance/pupil/friend for Mu-deok is Jang-Uk,but the very first thing that caught my family's eye is the storyline and comedy of course!

I actually disagree. So Min seems very one dimensional to me. She is very cute and pretty but her acting is awful IMO. She is the same character she wss in Because This Is My First Life. I honestly didn't even pick up on any chemistry until like episode 12 when Mu Deok admitted to herself she liked him and when Jang Uk said he had missed her. I had interpreted their relationship as more like brother-sister until that point. But I do think that the other actors are great in the series. The drama is still a great show and I find the episode very good, I just dont think So Min has much variety when acting.
I’ve just finished S1 for the 3rd time. Came here for the content and comments. This k-drama has such a grip on my heart. I wish people wouldn’t be put off because of it’s a period drama. They are missing out on a masterpiece.

Definitely a masterpiece..❤ Every character has been well played and the story line editing and everything is 💯 perfect... After watching part 2, though I missed Jung So Min, I thought Go Yoon Jung played the role given to her, perfectly. I’m just glad that it was a happy ending.
Ho youn jung was the naksu from the beginning and it was her story from beginning..though i missed so min but young jung was perfect for naksu..and she nailed her role
I can't forget how Mudeok (somin) is gazing. Her aura is really on another level. I don't hate GYJ, bur naksu really fits on Somin. She can be an assassin yet act dumb in the same time.
Whenever this song pops up in the drama, I am completely mesmerized by the visuals and the context. This song adds such a strong vibe to the character and the plot. I am in love with this drama and this song.
What they should have done as well is sub the song whenever it comes on. The song have so much meaning and it goes perfectly well with the scene. Just makes my heart sighed.

I used to don't like historical drama. But this is the first ever the best. Congratulations jung somin. Lee jaewook. From memories of the Alhambra and extraordinary U and now this...he really suprised me. This jang uk character really suits his face. The story has logical plot twist. Amazing fantasy...no boring at all. Im really into the fantasy story deep driving into hidden theory. Director what did you did to me?. Editing is really top notch. Naksu character ethernal beauty...
You know what I used to be like you too. Tbh I started to like historical drama after watching too much modern dramas. The storylines and scenes almost the same and cliché in each of the dramas making me sick of it. Then I started/tried to watch the historical drama (I don't remember which the first). That's when I started falling in love with historical drama. Storylines asides the outfit is what making me love it more. This is the first drama i watched it straight away I heard that narration and naksu character . I didn't watch many modern and traditional dramas. I'm just picky. Watching this and hearing this remind me of how I used to watch this and how addicted I was to AOS. That feeling never expire i don't have words to explain how amazing it was. Alchemy of Souls S1 will be the best Kdrama i have ever watched. The emotion they give is literally masterpiece. 💙✨

환혼2 다 본 시점에서..정소민이 그리워집니다..환혼1 재탕까지가고..무덕이..잊은거냐 제자야..아니 제작진들아 너희 즌2 나온거 그거 정소민 역할이 크다고 보지 않냐? 둘의 케미 대박이였다. 연기도 좋았고. 근데 즌2는 걍 주연배우나 제작진이나 정소민,무덕이는 없는 사람취급이나 하고 세상이 왕따시키는 기분이 이런 거구나 싶다. 환혼1을 너무너무 사랑했던 사람으로서 왜 이렇게된건지 아쉽고 안타깝다

Jung somin had done a really great job in playing as savage Naksu in Buyeon's body in season 1. I'll definitely miss seeing her but I'm also looking forward to see Go youn jung's acting to resume the dramatic love story between Jang uk n Naksu in season 2. AoS is the best!
I just finished the K-drama but i gotta say it's my favorite drama of this year ....everything was so captivating...the whole plot got me hooked ...it made my days...i will strongly miss this show
Lee Jaewook is such an amazing actor. Even though he has such little experience, he acts with every fibre of his face and body. I'm sure he works and practices hard but it is just pure talent, he owns EVERY scene he is in. I can't look at anyone but him.
Finally got an happy ending.. I can die peacefully now.. This song will always hold a different place in my heart.. The unsureness of what will happen ahead is the speciality of this song
In the end of season 2 when this song got played and buyeon/Naksu eyes became blue was freakin crazy. I screamed in my room and got shivers to spine. The best k drama
Definitely one of the BEST dramas I have the privilege to experience. It's works like these that remind me why I love kdramas. The breadth of storytelling, character arcs, visuals and emotion is A+. I love historical works but this just raised the bar for the genre. Big kudos to the team and I look forward to December very much.

환혼2 다 본 시점에서..정소민이 그리워집니다..환혼1 재탕까지가고..무덕이..잊은거냐 제자야..아니 제작진들아 너희 즌2 나온거 그거 정소민 역할이 크다고 보지 않냐? 둘의 케미 대박이였다. 연기도 좋았고. 근데 즌2는 걍 주연배우나 제작진이나 정소민,무덕이는 없는 사람취급이나 하고 세상이 왕따시키는 기분이 이런 거구나 싶다. 환혼1을 너무너무 사랑했던 사람으로서 왜 이렇게된건지 아쉽고 안타깝다

Jung somin had done a really great job in playing as savage Naksu in Buyeon's body in season 1. I'll definitely miss seeing her but I'm also looking forward to see Go youn jung's acting to resume the dramatic love story between Jang uk n Naksu in season 2. AoS is the best!

I just finished the K-drama but i gotta say it's my favorite drama of this year ....everything was so captivating...the whole plot got me hooked ...it made my days...i will strongly miss this show

Lee Jaewook is such an amazing actor. Even though he has such little experience, he acts with every fibre of his face and body. I'm sure he works and practices hard but it is just pure talent, he owns EVERY scene he is in. I can't look at anyone but him.
Lee Jae wook.. dialogue delivery was unique.. there is humour mixed.. I saw this drama twice back to back just to see his acting

Definitely one of the BEST dramas I have the privilege to experience. It's works like these that remind me why I love kdramas. The breadth of storytelling, character arcs, visuals and emotion is A+. I love historical works but this just raised the bar for the genre. Big kudos to the team and I look forward to December very much.
