Both Pandas also are the only mammals that evolved false thumbs (elbow bone mutation that functions as a primitive thumb for holding food, mainly bamboo, and to assist in climbing). Them having a similar markings isn''t a coincidence either and it helps both of them with vision by reflecting some of the sun light. I really don't get people that are saying that red panda looks noting like giant pandas and is more similar to fox or cats when they aren't at all. They clearly have a lot of similarities to Giant Pandas but yeah I agree that racoons look the most similar since it's very likely that they are red pandas closest living relatives (not confirmed though, it's hard to track their roots which is why they are classified in their own unique group).

Red pandas make some of the highest squeals, and some of the lowest sounds in their "huff-quack" noises.

These look like red raccoons not red pandas
that is because despite their name, Red Pandas or Ailurus fulgens belong to the same genus as raccoons, weasels, and skunks.
