Less awkward, actually. You are more likely to get some tears, or just see two people tlk like old friends. When you've been with someone long enough, it doesn't matter if you are a couple or not, you'll always be a big part of each other's lives and a cuddle would be easier because you know each other so well you'd know what to expect and how to respond. It would be an insightful, probably moving video, but not awkward.
In my case, more weird to hug an ex than a stranger. Its just me probably.
