The Akan history is very interesting but the Asa-anti subgroup is claiming to be the oldest, but rather they are the youngest amongst the Akan tribe. Adansi was never considered to be Asante till the Denkyra war. Facts twisted to suit only one subgroup For instance there was nothing called Asante/Akyem in the Akanland till the war between the Akyem”s and the Asante’s when the Akyem”s lost it to Asante”s , Agogo, Asankare, Dampong, konongo, Bompata were all under one name Akyem Abuakwa ( susubribi) Please let’s be honest with our history. We came from afar till we got to where we are at present. The whole west Africa was called The Land Of Negros , why was that? Asante’s are trying hard to distort Akan history.

How sure are you about your source of historical information? There are so many consistencies that indicate the trueness of what is out there. For instance, dormaa people as part of ashantes used to swear allegiance to menhyia in the ’50s not too long ago. But osagefo Agyeman Badu is claiming otherwise. Ashantes has never declared themselves as the oldest group. Because ashantes was formed by a group of people, they can't claim to be the oldest. Sorry but prove me wrong with scholarly facts. Thanks

As for me am confuse and dont know if they no longer teach this history in schools. The little twi i did taught me that the Akans comes from Techieman in the Brong Ahafo region until we were sepsrated by war. The real history needs to be told instead of one subgroup claiming supremacy over others.
