13:38 funny story my son wanted to play SMM last weekend so I actually turned on my Wii U and I was suprised how many stars my levels got.
SMM 1 is still very much active, though not very present on media any more.
Therefore thank you Ryu for still showing some SMM 1 love!
@LeoGBA I heard that, but I cannot find an official statement about that, so I think that is just a rumor.
There is no reason for Nintendo to shut the servers down right now.
They are hosted inhouse not like the Wii online servers which changed owner a few years ago

Also that doesn't make any sense since SMM and the 35th anniversary stuff are not related at all, neither on a technical level nor on a financial level...
@LeoGBA you said they would be "shutting down the game" , which is obviously not the case.
Because the game will still be playable and according to that post also you can use the servers.
You cannot upload courses, but there is no information that you cannot go online any more.
And on the JPN site they confirmed that servers for SMM are not planned to go offline.
Just losing the ability to upload courses definetly downgrades the WiiU version to the same as the 3DS version.
But it is not "shutting down the game" nor is it "shutting down the servers"

But if that was true you wouldn't even have bothered replying once here.
Just make sure you don't add to ofuccial statements what was not said there!
PR is very heavy on precise wording, so if you talk about official statement, I recommend not rephrasing them!

Problem is I used to play mario maker 1 before I got a switch and people still make loads of levels. Not as much but still loads.

@@camy3947 Saw your deleted comment, so just FYI: MM1 will still be playable! You just won't be able to upload _new_ levels. There's plenty of hot garbage already there to keep Ryu busy for a long time. I don't know how long it will last after that, but I'm glad it will still be around for a while!

I'm pretty sure they removed the costumes because of multiplayer. You can't recolor every costume to make sense for Toadette, for example and it'd be confusing in multiplayer.

My guess is the level with the donuts above spiny's in the low ceilinged room surrounded by spikes where you await the arrival of the star on a track while 3 Bowser's to your left shoot fire randomly at you. That level was not fun!

On the exceptionally close timer levels I really wish I could see the final time end screen to see how many factions of a second there was to spare.
You can see that at 1:17, his time was 9.983 seconds.
costumes are so cool cause you have power up without getting big. and the problem with mario maker when you turn big, your character are twice bigger, and it change all the following events in the level.
The canon cloud level gave me horrible flashbacks to the spiny cloud spin jump level from way back when
