Gusto kong pinapanood si Kuya Jobert since his funny videos sa YT around 10 yrs ago gaya ng Boy Buwitre. Doon ko rin pinapakinggan yung episodes nya sa radio kasi 'di abot ng radyo namin sa province yung signal ng radio station. Yung mga kalokohan nya yung pinagkakatuwaan namin sa school noon, yung mga hirit nya yung sinisigaw namin sa computer shop. Gumagastos pa ko talaga ng pang rent ng PC para panuorin sya.
So I could not describe how sad I was when I saw the news na nagwala sya sa SOGO. Noong una pa, may mga nabasa na ako (blog posts pa yata yun?) na may drama rin yung buhay nya, na he even had 2 birth days pa daw for some reason and whatnot... I just did not realize he was suffering that much. He was one of the people I look up to and I knew I would not see him for a long time dahil sa issue, if ever na babalik pa sya. 😢
For years, life happened to me, and I started to explore Christianity. Though I am still a work in progress, naiba na rin ang outlook ko sa buhay kahit papano. I found out then na bumalik si Kuya Jobert, and naging Christian din sya! Medyo tamed na ang humor nya pero nakakatawa pa rin. Yung pagkatalo nya sa bisyo at ibang pinagdaanan nya, at yung pagbangon nya with Christ and his loved ones, sobrang inspiring para sa akin. God is good.
BTW, pinapakinggan ko rin dati ng paulit ulit yung Langit Na Rin, and it is one of the most beautiful songs I listened to to this day! I remember wondering kung paano nasulat ni Kuya Jobert yun kasi yung melody and chord progression are not so simple, and the way he was singing it, halatang galing sa puso and napaka seryosong bagay ng mga yon for me. Recording pa yun nung tinugtog nya sa radio program niya, may static noise pa ng kaunti. 😅
May cover si JC Rivera nung kanta, Skusta Clee covered it too (though I think walang permission from Kuya J), pero iba talaga yung kay Kuya Jobert. Yung version ng pag kanta nya dati, iba pa sa pag kanta nya years after sa ibang videos nya, and iba pa ulit dito sa interview. Kaya naiisip ko, it sounds as if his song is truly alive - he never really stopped singing it. ❤😊
May iba pa syang seryosong kanta na complex din compared sa mga pop songs ngayon.
