The final was crazy man, very close until Vitality basically broke in the third. I mean first game 2 OT, second game OT, then third game advantage to G2.

zywoo's miss on hunter which was a pretty easy shot on the first round led to an improbable 2k on heaven after. then he also missed a free kill on m0nesy when he had a molly out which, this is something you could bet your house on if you freezed the frame before.
when zywoo goes quiet its usually because of the nature of his personality, lacks initiative to demand things from his teammates as zonic highlighted in an interview with thorin but this map was pretty much a mechanical choke. something quite rare from the woo

Luck also wasn’t much on Stew’s side this tournament. The amount of times the guy died without the enemy even seeing him was significant (of course, it can he a timing thing or really good reads but still worth pointing out). And everytime he got a favorable duel, you couldn’t help but think he would get insta HS.

I lost all respect for RL after the tweet.
Firstly, he tweeted it like 30 minutes after the win. Why? Let it be. Tweet it the next day, you don't need to go and fight people instantly. No tact, and probably lack of socialization skills from RL.
Secondly, he didn't even preface the tweet with "congrats on the win" in an unironic way. Everything he says has to be ironic, which triggers people who just want communication to be straightforward.
Thirdly, he doesn't understand a shred about the game, and it shows more and more. He doesn't play the game, never played the game. The average level 10 face it player understands more. Especially after all the videos he made claiming cheaters don't exist and so on, which I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I know he doesn't play.
Fourthly, he was trying to be controversial and provocative for the sake of it. He didn't offer any new insight or analysis, he didn't watch a demo, etc. When it suits Richard he is all about stats stats stats, and the moment it doesn't suit him, he excuses stats as irrelevant. Its very hypocritical and at this point I can't take the guy seriously.
His tweet was the definition of "I don't owe anybody anything and I can say what ever I want free speech yeah!" and then turn right around and call people petty, angry, mad, etc. You deliberately stir the hornets nest saying "its my property" and then complain that they attack you or dislike you.

to me maybe the timing could've been different but RL was saying what everyone was thinking -- that this event is a bad look for hooxi. Of course there's more to it, it's not like stewie is just hooxi without being an IGL, but either..
      A) stew is defending hooxi, in which case if he cited something specific imo that would've been a slam dunk
      or
      B) stew is basically saying "how dare you site stats, i bring more than stats to the team" (what I read it as personally) which imo is a bit weird, because that kinda reads like "how dare you compare me to hooxi, i'm actually good" since hooxi, even outside of calling, should also be bringing more to the table than just his stats
there's definitely more to CS than just fragging but idk stew's response just rubbed me the wrong way. And if I'm being honest, it almost feels like retaliation for the videos RL made on stewie when he went to valorant. Even just a short 1-2 points about anything other than "you just don't understand CS" would've, to me, made the tweet from stewie 99% more reasonable.
stewie just won the event. why say anything at all? RL is doing what pundits do which is creating a narrative around the event, and one that has some basis in reality. You can argue the timing, but CS is pretty big time at this point, players know this type of stuff comes with the territory. Maybe he doesn't see everything going on in the game but I don't think that makes the essence of his point wrong -- this event can absolutely be suggested to be a mark against hooxi. I don't think it means niko should igl and they cut hooxi, but it's not good for his standing imo.

    • @zettour.
      @zettour. 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@itsvoo I'll preface by saying I didn't read the tweets until just now, but I don't get how you read it that way.
First off, I think it's quite clear Stew is talking about himself. He says that "[He]'ll agree that the performance wasn't on par, even to [his] own expectations", which is clearly in response to RL saying "a stand-in who played worse than [HooXi] in all but one series". While Stew was a bit aggressive with his wording in how "you (RL) actually don't know jack all about CS inside the server", you clearly mischaracterized Stew's tweet.
Take your paraphrase of how Stew's initial tweet reads as "how dare you (RL) compare me to hooxi, i'm actually good". This is in direct contradiction with Stew's tweet which he prefaces with "You're entitled to your own opinion and I respect it". He also acknowledges that he wasn't good in that tweet. That's separate from how Stew thinks that RL isn't knowledgeable on CS, hence why Stew agrees with RL on his performance and his right to an opinion but not on his qualifications.
I get that Stew's response rubbed you in the wrong way, but I think it's because many of us are sort of biased against Stew for his EG days, me included. If anything though, I read those tweets back and it seems more like RL retaliating against Stew after Stew posts a reply to RL's original tweet which rubbed RL the wrong way. As for "just a short 1-2 points about anything other than 'you just don't understand CS'", Stew clearly didn't want to engage with RL. His subsequent reply made that abundantly clear, hence why RL looks like a pot stirrer here which he arguably is.
As for timing, it's true that RL is doing what pundits do. But it is also true that pundits, like RL, lack tack. I personally don't have an issue with that since he isn't a PR guy nor is he covering me as his story, but others like OP are entitled to dislike him for it.
As a sidenote, I think the HooXi era is over and has long been over. NiKo as an IGL is only bad because of the pressure of being an IGL. If you go back to 2019 FaZe, NiKo wasn't that bad at the start. He just got absolutely ran over by the community and couldn't handle the pressure, something he's said multiple times in interviews. Considering dev1ce's success, I think it's worth a try having NiKo IGL. You don't exactly have many other options on the market at the moment anyway and the pressure on G2 right now is pretty low. Adding jks back to the lineup though probably takes priority of anything else. nexa needs to move on from G2 just as much as G2 needs to move on from him.

@@zettour. the "you're entitled to your opinion and i respect it" to me is basically a non-comment when followed by (essentially) "but you're clueless." it's like saying "i'm not racist but [insert insanely racist thing]." idk, maybe this is just the influencer in me but if i'm stewie and i'm writing a tweet to say "people that cite stats are idiots, and i don't like RL" but in a way that the community will not just shit on, that's pretty much exactly what i'd say.
i really dislike stewie's tweet if it's a defense of himself because it pretty directly shits on hooxi, as if stewie even after taking several years off is so insanely good with intangibles that him slotting into a team to replace their IGL while not knowing all their strats and not knowing the current meta is still somehow an upgrade. idk, can you tell me a positive interpretation of the tweet?
if stew isn't defending hooxi then bringing up points is kinda not necessary since it's more abstract than that, i was just thinking specifically in regards to if it was a tweet meant to defend hooxi, since everybody is/will be speculating about hooxi and a tweet to defend hooxi from RL could be multi-purpose in the case he also says something specific
I'd just as soon argue RL's tweet as at a good time btw. Posting right after an event looks bad, but could also be the best time to post it since it'll (generally) get lost in a sea of praise and you expect the player to be probably not worrying about social media at that time. a couple days later i'd much more expect them to see it/respond than immediately, tbh.
yeah i think hooxi's time on g2 is close to an end i just don't see niko as a good replacement IGL when changes are necessary. I think niko can 2ndary call and he can probably call pretty well within a system, but I don't think he's good at the other aspects of IGLing like slotting players in and adjusting strats around them etc

Look back at all the great players cs has had, how many times have they won? And how often teams with no great star have? If your logic made any sense S1mple would have his room full of major trophies. At this level there's much more going on. But again, I feel like you really are 12yo so it's not really worth arguing.
