Got her in the mail on Christmas Eve along with Taki. I'm not the biggest KOF fan, but I did play some of the games growing up. I'm more of a Yuri fan. I'm not opposed to Mai though. My biggest problem is she struggled to balance. Since feet not smooth on the bottom it will take some skill to stand her and not fall in her signature poses. As far as her faces go. I think they are beautiful. Best head sculpt on a female figure all year and I love my ladies. I also have a problem with posing her legs. You have to make sure her thigh joint is dropped down. If it is above the hip. You run the risk of paint damage on the soft plastic on her hips. Other than that she might be in my top 10 figures of this year.
I have this pre-ordered from BBTS and it's on its way. Storm Collectibles makes great figures. It does seem like they design the character to look good/seamless from specific angles. When you get too creative the outline or realism (if you can call it that) gets messed up. My only complaint, just by looking at it, is the design of the face. They chose not to capture the actual SNK artist's rendition, which would have been nice. They didn't really capture the game either, because the game makes her look more 'anime' big-eyes style of cartoon. That said, it's a nit-picky complaint. She'll go nicely next to my Tyris Flare from Storm Collectibles...and soon next to Taki.

I think her faces were done that way to emulate old artwork from the game. I'm sure if this was based on one of the newer versions of the game it would look more attractive.
her left arm is frustrating me to no end, it keeps popping out and I've even tried doing what I've never ever done before which is dip the joint in warm water and same story. Who's having the same?
I ♥ me some Mai, one of my favorite kunoichi ever, but storm really did her dirty, they held back sooo much potential. Her semi small bust and very odd plain face. Hoping we get a 1/12th scale. But that's my opinion, great review!

It’s funny because, the 2002 KYO had a face lift so I think they’re acknowledging the faces could be more attractive
