Luke, I really like this format of a roundup of first impression reviews. Do more of these and maybe your stress level for all the content you need to do will go down.
You are getting so good at this :) I love this format (and c’mon, don’t stress for us) and I fully agree with your thoughts (I don’t own yet any of those but watched a handful reviews on them). I would just be little less generous with my rankings (about .5 lessish). I had only Dice Hospital and Western Legends on my radar - I am taking out Dice Hospital as I am not very fond of multiplayer solitaire.
I really enjoyed this compilation format! Keep up the good work, it's worth it, it makes sense, it's very useful for us, who are not able to play all those games. Thanks for that! :)
Love your show man! Hope you can keep it up and also despite any stress keep youre enthousiasm alive for this wonderfull hobby!! Greetings from Holland 😊
I love a good "Campilation" video ;) Looking forward to getting the new Camel up. I like Dice Hospital at two, never really wanted to play it with more.. phew! The turkeys in The River are "wild turkeys"... geddit? I liked that little touch. Looking forward to Reykholt, Western Legends Petra. Thanks for all the thoughts.
Really enjoyed that Luke...thought it worked well.... I've got deluxe dice hospital...and totally agree with everything you said about it.... Western legends is a game that I looked long and hard at on Kickstarter... I've got Azul...nuff said.... The river looks nice... Don't really like uwe Rosenberg games... Excellent vid Luke...cheers mate..
I hope I get to try the new Azul, and as I don't own the original I might buy this one instead. But yeah, it's almost the same game. Could have been an expansion instead...
I like to use Stone Age to introduce Worker Placement, think The River is better? Nvm, kept watching and you mentioned it with Waterdeep ... also another I like to show people (followed by say Viticulture :)
add my name to the list that approves of the format. look, luke - we LIKE you. that's why we are here. my constructive criticism is that you do sometimes to tend repeat yourself or really hammer one point a bit. this format did not have this 'feature'. niiice.
That has been said and certainly I agree, I'm trying to keep the main reviews shorter to avoid this, but it's not easy. Being restricted during this format however I feel helped to focus on major issues or at least move on quickly! :P
Regarding Azul, I'm one of those people that have not been able to pick up the original, due to it always being sold out. I just picked up the Stained Glass of Sintra version and I couldn't be happier. Not only do I have all the components for the Stained Glass version, but if I'm inclined, which I am, I can reproduce the original Azul player boards with the colours from Stained Glass and essentially have 2 games. If you don't have the original, Stained Glass of Sintra is worth it
Western Legends has some dodgey game mechanics. Random event at the start effectively stopped me from winning the game. I had an Ace which could have been used to fulfull winning conditions. I was forced to throw it away before I even had a turn. Next go forced to throw away only money I had. The quests from the cards involved attacking other players biut my cards were so shit I couldn't do that. Terrible game mechanics, poorly thought out, nice look to the game. Overall 5/10
so if you went first and were able to do what you wanted, then you would've rated it higher, i presume? 'winning' is apparently high on your list of goals. you are right, then. this game is not for you. if you can't play a game and have fun just for the sake of having a fun time, then that's cool, i guess. very glad you are not part of MY gaming group, though.
@@jwolfe9589 No it's a bad game which looks nice. I am happy to play games winning or not. However this game set a condition for most of the points I could gain and then stopped me from doing that which is insane. Happy enough for other players actions, i.e. competitive play to stop me from winning. I have played hundreds of games and this is poor.

All encouraging words! Thanks! That's the hope at the end of the day.

I recommend Ennio Morricone for Western Legends sound!

I said GOODDAY SIR!!

What was the rule in Petra that was so confusing? Curious before I get my copy what to look out for!
The rule about how your marker flips on the influence tracks with each nation as it moves and placing of cubes. Read it very carefully!

Have you tried Vault of Dragons or Dinogenics?
Afraid not.
@@TheBrokenMeeple I see, been keeping my eye on those two. Also my wife and I are excited about Dice Hospital.
This works great!
