Rachel plan was to see the sky. To do that, SOMEONE must climb to the top. That someone can be ANYONE. Once someone climb it, the route becomes easier, and she can take it.
Important note: SHE doesn't need to be part of that group. She doesn't even need to be the first ,second or third to see the sky.
Baam is the hero of her plan all along. She teach him the skill, give him the weapon , provide the companions , the guide AND is now gathering THE KEY (the hardest part).
