I haven’t been back to Haiti since 2008 😢 unfortunately, all I see in the news is devastation and destruction which is why I love watching vlogs of ppl living their best lives in Haiti 🇭🇹 ❤️
I love Cap-Haitian. I did my internship at Justinien University Hospital. I was a happy primary care physician in Petionville before the great exodus as I call it. Now I am a stay at home mom in Miami :).
Haiti 🤝🏾 Jamaica because why is the card machine at an establishment not working 😩. We living the same lives in two different countries! Office/beauty room looks great, Rutty! ❤
I'm about to leave the Dominican Republic. I think cap haitien is a good option but I'm from ouanaminthe. Hope i meet you one day. ❤❤ nice decoration 🎀 🎉 i like your work space ❤❤
Thanks! Cap-Haitien is a little rough cause the city isn’t managed well. It’s okay when visiting but living here gets really annoying😩 I’ll talk about it more in future vlogs.
I always enjoy your videos because I feel like I'm riding in the car with you or I'm walking with you. I've never been to Haiti, (really want to visit) but I feel like I know so much from your videos. My favorite part of traveling is going to the non tourist parts of town where I can get an authentic feel and vibe for the city I'm in. That's what I get when I watch your videos. The vibe of where you live now seems more peaceful.
Hi Rutty, great to see you, looking healthy and beautiful as always. Congrats on your first 10K subscribers. It should have been 100K with all these superb contents that you have created.
OMG.....the overall look of your home office turned out sooo well! I'm in loooooooveeee with colors, patterns, textures, and set up of your day bed. 😍🔥 I also love the artwork and your beauty section. 💕
Seriously rutty your video are amazing, I've been following you for a while, you show us you really really love our & your beautiful country Haïti , seriously keep doing the good work you're doing, ours ancestors proud of you beautiful queen, we diaspora love love Haïti, im Canada for over 27 year I'm citizen & all but I'm not feel in my country. My real real country were my bellybutton was cut is Haïti...HAÏTI WILL RISE AGAIN TRUST ME
Hey Rutty! Nice to see you happy new year!🎉 Could you please do a video on shipping to Haiti? Like buying from Amazon, targert etc and have them shipped. Please and thank you.
Not creepy at all! I kept thinking about my supporters & how I need to edit all the content I filmed😅 but I got so busy with work & then went to Ghana & Zanzibar. I had a lot going on lol. But I’m glad to be back! 💗
Welcome back! Missed you and your informative videos. I do have some questions: In Cap Haitian as a woman are you able to either walk or drive without fear? Is there a functioning hospital? Are there honest real estate agents to help find homes to buy or rent? Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thank you ❤
Okap is safe for everyone, men and women. I don't really like to drive here cause of the roads and traffic, but I go out on my own when I need to. There are many real estate agents here, but inventory is very low. They'll help you search but most of the places they show are subpar. There are hospitals here, but with anywhere in Haiti you're not guaranteed service.
$170 usd is amazing even if it wouldn’t feel good. I live in Canada, got a cheaper quality mattress $600 and after less than 2 years, I have no choice but change it for a better quality one $900+ because my back is done
I just stumble to your vlog which i enjoy watching. What's pushed you making this decision moving there? And was it an easy decision? I grew up in nyc now living in SC and i'm giving it a great consideration of moving somewhere in the northern part of Haiti more specifically Fort liberte, Môle saint Nicolas or maybe Jacmel.
No, I use a shipping company. When ordering, I put the company’s Miami address. Once it’s delivered, they send it to Okap & I pick it up from their office.
@@ruttyb Great! Thanks so much for a quick reply. 🙏🏾 Another question please, would you say it’s currently safe for someone from the States to visit Okap? Peyi’m manke’m anpil…😔😔
Hello dear, I watched your videos and really enjoyed them. Can you please provide some information about how to rent a place in Cap Haitian? I’ll greatly appreciate your help.
It’s very hard finding a place in Okap. We searched for months. There aren’t many realtors that post properties on instagram or have websites, like the ones in Port-au-Prince. We searched on Facebook marketplace to find realtors based in Okap & asked friends for references. We looked on Google, but found very few properties. There were 4 or 5 different realtors helping us.
Renting…but it’s really hard to find a decent place in Okap. There aren’t too many options here. There were 4 or 5 realtors helping us. It took 3 months & 3 trips to Okap to find something.
I wouldn't recommend buying a house in any area you aren't familiar with. If you have to ask what areas are safe then I don't think you're ready to buy a house here.

I can appreciate anyone going hard for their country, just be careful out there sis!🇭🇹🙏

explain the exodus to me please
I guess she meant after the earthquake in 2010?
The insecurity, the gangs etc...
Watching your videos give me hope on coming back to Haiti may God continue to bless and keep you safe
Me too

You're doing a great service for Haiti the news would like people too think it's just like the Garza strip, except with Black people

I was born and raised in fort-liberte and honestly perfect area to move to
Oh breadfruit is my favorite
How do you receive deliveries in Okap?
Hi, what made you decide to move?
I always appreciate your uploads! We may be neighbors in the near now!! ❤
More please 😍🥰🤩
The juices look delieh
Your office is very very nice one side business the other side upscale beauty shop
Thank you!! 😅
Hello I want to you make a video how you buy on Amazon from Haiti thanks
I’m filming that one soon!
Happy New Year! Great vlog, as always! When you order from Amazon, does it get delivered directly to your address in Haiti?
No, I use a shipping company. When ordering, I put the company’s Miami address. Once it’s delivered, they send it to Okap & I pick it up from their office.
@@ruttyb Great! Thanks so much for a quick reply. 🙏🏾 Another question please, would you say it’s currently safe for someone from the States to visit Okap? Peyi’m manke’m anpil…😔😔
Definitely!! People visit all of the time with no issues.
@@ruttyb Good to know. Thank you so much.
Oooo me zanmi it’s been a while !
Long timeeee😅
That was the best decision you had made, moving to the country side.
Unfortunately I don’t live in the countryside. Okap is managed very poorly so it’s really annoying living in a city like this.
Hang in there, things will change.

Can you help with a trip to okap?
Sure!
How do we get in contact with you?

Hey Rutty, hope all is well with you. What company did you use to send your belongings over?
Shippex!
@@ruttyb thank you 🫶🏾
That's nice
Enjoy 😂
Hey are you renting there or did you buy? My husband and I are looking to relocate. He’s Haitian and I’m American.
Renting…but it’s really hard to find a decent place in Okap. There aren’t too many options here. There were 4 or 5 realtors helping us. It took 3 months & 3 trips to Okap to find something.
@@ruttyb thank you for your reply! What would you say is the average price for like a 2 or 3 bedroom?
A regular house might be between $4000 to $6000 USD per year. But a “modern” house (Okap standards) can range from $1,000 to $2,500 USD per month 😅
Song plz in the beginning?
Beat by @samybeatz
I want to take my sons for the summer, the news says it's too dangerous, where would you suggest we stay?
If you want to take you sons to Port-au-Prince or anywhere else in the West department, then the news is correct.
❤❤
Pa gen danje o'kap?
Pou kounya, non.
I want to buy a house in Haiti. Which areas are safe?
I wouldn't recommend buying a house in any area you aren't familiar with. If you have to ask what areas are safe then I don't think you're ready to buy a house here.
@@ruttyb I left Haiti when I was 8 and I want to retire there but idk how to do that.

Hey! Please email me ruttyb@gmail.com
Are you living in Cap haitian?
Yes!
Mattress price is average.
How do u order from Amazon in cap Haitian?
Use a shipping company like Shippex. You send it to their address & then they send it to Okap.
$170 for a twin mattress is too much
Yeah I looked online and was shocked😳. That’s why I rarely buy anything here. Everything is expensive.
A twin at IKEA is $400
