Ooooh for your nails, my friend has a lovely look which is a TINY thin line of a different colour on each nail right along the tip and the rest just pale nude colour! Totally, totally adore this look! I still can't bring myself to get TikTok, sorry but what I have seen of it repulses me .........
Here's the thing, if you don't have money for 2 appointments or you're not planning to redo your nails before they start lifting (so, monthly) they will damage your nails. Usually by the time they start lifting it's also starting to peel off the top layers of your nail. And even then, in my experience, nail techs tend to file down too much and remove some of my real nail on removal. I have thin nails to begin with so when they do this my natural nails can't take it and they break very easily. The only way I can maintain long nails is if I leave my natural nails alone or get them done with gel or acrylic every month.

Ok so here we go….so as a nail tech acrylic nails do not damage your nails. It drives me bonkers when people say it does. However bad products and bad techs damage your nails and also 9 out of 10 times the people that say their nails are damaged after acrylics are the ones that just pull their nails off and don’t remove them properly which in turn causes them to rip several layers of nail off. If I was you I would maybe go for a builder gel overlay on your natural nails or you could even just try a normal gel Polish and see how you go with that xx
Hi ! I am also a nail tech using gelX method, and it’s the same as acrylic nails! If you remove properly with a professionnal, you can make your nails grow a lot and they won’t be damaged at all 💕 same for semi-permanent nail polish :) if nail tech use good quality products and are professionnal, knowing the technics etc your nails will be safe !
Exactly! I've been doing nails for decades, and I've seen and heard so many awful things. My go to products are hard gel and gel tips, and the only damage my clients have is what they inflict upon themselves by ripping off the product.

I didn’t get my nails done for my wedding either and I started having them done for the first time just before Christmas last year (and I am 50). I started with acrylic tips, as i had no nails and as they grew out I have my own nails now and just gel polish.
Hi Missa, yes u r right acrylic gels would weaken your nails as they have to buff the surface of your own nails down for the acrylic to adhere......A lovely French tips would look perfect as your natural nails r always what I have wished for, look strong and a lovely shape....I don't mean the shape u have filed them but the curvature of your nail...how u have filled them is dandy too as this helps to keep nails stronger with a squared off look and my preferred shape when buying my stick on nails. hope I've helped and this is just my own experience and opinion. love Alli and Bella X

@@AlliListArt Done right it doesn't damage. There is very little "roughing up" that actually needs to be done. Only in "chop shops" (or with people who practice poor techniques) does much of that happen. I've had mine done for 24 years and get a brand new set every for months. After being soaked off (the one proper way to remove them) the nail is VERY GENTLY filed and primer (two types) are applied.

Don’t wreck your nails with gels or acrylics if you can grow your own as it wrecks your nail beds and lots of upkeep. I loved visiting Stirling when i went to Scotland years ago. Non-customer service reception would be less stressful for than a hotel i would expect.
YES... acrylic nails will damage your nails. I had never had my nails done professionally either so I broke down and did it. It weakened my natural nails because they were so thin that they started splitting. Once I had the acrylic off it took MONTHS to get my nails back to a semi decent condition. So no acrylics!! Just getting a manicure and polish looks fab. No hate to anyone who gets their nails done..they always look great but it's so hard afterwards to get your natural nails back
No, they won't. It's the technique that does the damage. I've had them for 24 years and my nails are actually in better shape than before I got them done. You had someone do them that did it improperly or used bad product.

There is no such thing as acrylic gels. It's either acrylic or gels. There is gel polish that I get over my acrylics.
