For those who didn't know, standard a4 paper is pulp with calcium carbonate fillings. Pulp on its own is quite flexible, but the fillings cause it to become more brittle, and hence shatter under immense pressure

Yes but it's a useless camera angle. Why do that when you could find another angle that you can actually see? It's not just about camera damage.
Seeing the GoPro fall off the table is half the fun. It's neat to see its journey from the GoPro itself (actually this episode had the best falling shot yet), and it makes for an amusing high-speed shot too. It's also pretty interesting to see what makes it fall off and what doesn't--the power bank, which was a HUGE fiery explosion, didn't make it fall, but the paper did.
