I honestly dont think this will be Daniel's last F1 contract. It would make no sense at all, considering he can still go at very top form until at least 2025 and some drivers have managed to stay at very good form at older ages (like Fernando and Lewis). The only reason I could see him retire is if he doesnt find the motivation for it, as I feel like there's some toxicity around him for... reasons. If he does retire, I reckon he will still give it a proper go in the States, through Indy and/or Nascar that he is known to love.
Anyway, he would indeed be an awesome commentator.

Yup. Trouble is, like Mark Webber said, if you've made 50 million (or 150 in DRics case) it's not the immediate go to thought of travelling the globe, rushing here and there to talk about the sport you possibly wish you were still in.. for £70k a year. But I think like Jensen, he'll get bored and cone back for several weekends a year.

Max has had a huge fan base since he joined RB in 2016 because winning a race at 18 is crazy and over the years he’s shown he has a really exciting style to watch.
You acting like he got all his fans in 2021 since that’s the only time Merc has been challenged since 2014.

Honestly, Daniel is the best sportsman. The problem is that we are dealing with weird generations. There's a generation that sees Lewis as the best, a generation that sees Sebastian Vettel as the best, Fernando Alonso generation, Michael Schumacher generation, Aryton Senna generation etc etc... So, you'll always have people who only like someone just because of their accomplishments, but true race fans appreciates great drivers on and off the track.

Hats off for Danny Ric. Always loved him in F1. Stupidly fast, brakes later than almost everyone, just in a period of time where he could never win a title, even if he could have competed for one. I love every race he's in and will be sad when he hangs his helmet up.
Danny got robbed of a WDC between 2014 and 2016 by Mercedes dominance. In 2014, every race that wasn't won by Mercedes was won by Daniel.

He only brakes late when overtaking, if you look at his data you can see he’s average at braking in qualifying for example.

I think the unnoticed reason of the seemingly bubbly character of Danny Ricc is the apt of his speaking skills. He sounds very fluent and seldom uses fillers such as "like" or "um", anything of that sort. Its genuinely refreshing to hear him talk and very much engaging to see him construct sentences to express what he is feeling. Fluidity at its best.
i mean.. his native tongue is english so i would hope he’s fluent in it😂

Agree all around - save for "along with Max" given Max's personality is the polar opposite of Danny. Danny is humble, joyful and great - Max is a arrogant little prick - he can drive but other than that he's by far the worst personality on the grid by FAR.

After watching years of F1, you vome to know about the weight saving and the importance of it, but hearing him and other drivers talk about their body weight and how they have to think about its effect on lap times always makes me realize all over again, how insanely competitive F1 really is, and how high the stakes are to these teams.
Yes but he completely forgot mentioning there is a minimum weight. So it's definitely not extreme as he presented.
It's 80kg so his only goal is to stay under it (weights will be added)
for someone the hight of George it may be a bit harder for shorter drivers who are in shape anyway
not really too difficult.

@@barryallen821 I know his history. Just curious as to why when weight is such a big deal (teams literally removing paint to save weight this year) hes allowed to keep all that hair.
I do race a bit irl. I am 48kg and that definitely helps if I was to race cars. In karts, it is incredibly difficult to get to the weight limit for senior categories.
I am also short (5 foot 1) so that helps as well.

@@h2rv cause he peaked at the wrong time. He is now a one day wonder. There are multiple young talents on the grid who have or will have better or equal cars to him and they will outperform him. This includes his teammate as well.
He doesn’t need it to be remembered though. He’s had some great drives to victory already as well.

Daniel was the first f1 racer to really pull me into the scene and keep up with it. Really hoping for a podium finish this season, we know he's still got the capability too 😤
I met Daniel last year during Mexico GP. Before speaking with him I was afraid, but he was the most amazing guy ever. Being a huge fan, it was like a dream came true. I know he’s going to give us awesome moments on track.

I'm new to F1 but I understand now why people like it so much. It's cool learning about all these young drivers and their relationships, but Daniel definitely stands out. That personality is going to make him a lot of money after racing

The format of Drive to Survive is brilliant. Not a movie or series with actors, but do it real-time in a cinematic documentary/show kinda format. I’m a bit saddened when they try to create drama themselves for more attention, as there’s plenty of organic drama to go around as is. And it takes a lot of the authenticity out of the show.
I hate TV companies or streamers making stuff up, especially when there's inherent drama in something already.

Absolutely love Ricciardo, he is who got me into F1 as an American because the racing is great but if you don’t care about someone racing then it’s just racing. Now it’s an entire sport for me. I have shirts, my first f1 chrome cards I got, I got 2 Ricciardo cards and they are still my favorite. He’s just such a great dude.
Such a personable and humble bloke. I hope he gets back his magical driving touch and is able to contend for a championship before he retires.

I'll never forget him beating Lewis in the little Top Gear Suzuki. It was fair and square, neither of them had better weather etc.. and Danny was so jazzed that he actually did it. Lewis had been there twice, Danny only once. I think it's an event to be proud of. He thought so too.

Daniel is the reason I started watching F1. I don’t have loyalty to any team. I’ll cheer for whatever team Daniel is on. As much as I don’t want him to retire, I’m very curious as to what he’ll do after Formula 1. The world will be his oyster!

@@kangical7113 I follow the esports scene on twitter and the McLaren shadow project held a competition to have a few fans come and have a tour of the place then watch one of the online races live. We were lucky that Ricciardo was there so we manage to have a brief chat and take a group picture with him

I love Ricciardo. Incredible driver, but also very down to earth and humble. Seems pretty fun too, I've watched some of the banter and pranks in his other videos. He's one of the best sports personalities period, plus hes pretty respectful on track whilst still racing hard. I desperately hope he stays around if he does have to retire. I'm not ready to lose him, hopefully when it happens he goes back to youtube - the video he made with Button had everything I love about him. Or twitch. Just anything so I don't have to go cold turkey on Ricciardo!
