thank you SO much for this playlist.. this is my last semester of nursing school and the most difficult, you have made this subject a walk in the park. you are greatly appreciated for taking the time out to make these!
As a nursing student, almost every patient I have been assigned during clinicals has Diabetes Mellitus PLUS other co-morbidities. This is why this topic is so important not just for exam purposes. DM predisposes one to a lot of other diseases and we need to know how to care for them and also provide patient teaching on how to prevent further complications. Thanks Cathy and Level Up RN team.
Early signs of a low blood sugar include:👍 feeling hungry. sweating. tingling lips. feeling shaky or trembling. dizziness. feeling tired. a fast or pounding heartbeat (palpitations) becoming easily irritated, tearful, stroppy or moody
Hi! Can you send me your source? I am interested to learn more, as ADA and other sources indicate milk is option in the treatment of hypoglycemia. diabetesjournals.org/clinical/article/30/1/38/35419/Hypoglycemia-Low-Blood-Glucose-Low-Blood-Sugar
Interesting you mentioned the high potassium with DKA patients, I was one of them while in ICU, and for me they said my potassium was too low, so they gave potassium by mouth.
Thank you so much for doing this playlist....especially separately. Endocrine is my hardest to comprehend section so this is a PLUS. Will love to see more system playlists...the total med-Surg playlist easily overwhelms me!

Interesting you mentioned the high potassium with DKA patients, I was one of them while in ICU, and for me they said my potassium was too low, so they gave potassium by mouth.
The potassium is high, however it’s not in the right places so you’re not getting the potassium.
