    Thanks for the review! It's definitely a fair review and we somehow slept on catching this one and making a comment. We appreciate all the comments and feedback. We definitely have some room to improve and are slowly building the product line to be more well-rounded in terms of our offering, quality, and features.

    A buddy bought this from Ross and was able to fit his 10.5” in it broken down plus a med kit and 4 mags and an extra side arm for another person with room to spare for other items. Assuming you’re also carrying a plate carrier it would seem like a very useful set up if you’re strapped for cash or are waiting to buy that better bag. This will definitely suffice until you get the better one for 35$!

    I see these at TJ Maxx for $25-30-. They usually have a couple different styles. Great value at that price !

    I just picked up this bag at TJ Maxx for $30.00, I also picked up the shoulder bag for $25.00 and the fanny pack for $13.00. You can't do better at those prices. Very happy with all 3 products.

    Got mine in Camo for about $20 at TK Maxx. I have used it since almost daily, and it’s a versatile bag, great value for the buck. If you have the change, pick one up, you can’t go wrong!

    Love all your videos. As someone currently in academy I appreciate the detail and explanation you give to things in all of your videos. Hell you teach better lessons than my academy instructors 😂

    Looks like a lot of pack for the money. Can't think of any other packs that come with all those features at that price point. Nice!

    The main compartment now has a zippered pouch. Hoping the zippers are better too, there were complaints about those. Light duty for me, beats any other pack out there for the price!

    Ironically I purchased this same backpack from TJ Maxx I was actually shocked at the value in which this bag is definitely compared to some of the other backpacks that are designed more for hiking and whatever on the higher scale..... so I'm not really sure what you're picking at too much I didn't have any of the issues I've had it for over a year now and I literally use this everyday carry it has my firearms it has several knives in it and I'm not just talking small ones I'm talking about two Cold steel knives one is the srk the other one is the Tonto I even have a BK which we all know neither of them knives are light so that's three heavy knives a Ruger 9 mm ammunition along with food and some other storage but you didn't mention the side pouch where you grab the handle on the one side there's actually a hidden compartment maybe you don't know about it kind of sad if you don't and you're reviewing it..... Maybe I should do a review for it but you should definitely check out that side panel check out the side handle that's not on both sides it's on one side and it's about large enough to hold well a bottle or some sort or whatever but it's pretty well kind of hidden most people that grab my backpack don't even realize that zip or even exist which is great because people don't realize it

    Hey Tommy, great video as always! Just getting into ems. I started school a few weeks ago. How necessary would you say body armor is? Hopefully will begin volunteering in NYC until I am out of high school and can get a full-time position.

    • @wantabEMT
      @wantabEMT 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm an EMT not far outside NYC and none of the EMTs/Medics in my area have body armor. I feel like good situational awareness and keeping yourself out of the hot zone is worth way more than a vest. If you're in a particularly rough area, I'd give it some more thought though.

      @@wantabEMT Thanks for the input. I'm asking because one of the paramedics who's teaching me showed me a picture of his ambulance after he got shot at and someone hit his back window out with a baseball bat.

    Great review. It looks like your pack may have had the same issue as mine. All the weight of the pack was on just the very innermost edges of the shoulder straps. Did you experience the same thing? At the beginning of the video, in the brief segment where you turn sideways while wearing the pack, I see a gap. And your shoulders are squarer than mine - mine angle downwards a bit more. But even on your shoulders, the straps appear to be angling away from your shoulders a bit, like wings, not making contact at the outer edges. I was able to get the straps to sit better on the shoulders if I manually pulled them together near the bottom ends - about 6 inches below the chest connector strap, Unfortunately, the chest connector strap can't be relocated easily. I might try to get a separate, short cinch/compression strap or I might just return the pack. Highland does seem to be a company to keep an eye on. They seem to be a relatively new company, and I think they will get the issues fixed, with newer models, or new batches of the existing models.

    It's crazy my Highland tactical I just realized when watching your video actually has a zipper that is a mesh zipper pouch like mine actually has I think more pouches it also has a hidden thing where they grab handle is I don't know if yours does or not on the sides

    How was it during your time using it as a duty bag when at work?

    • @freefieldtraining
      @freefieldtraining  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is a backpack, which is never my preference. There is plenty of space int he main compartment for a metal storage clip board, ticket holder, and my car charger. Most of my other stuff fit in the outside pockets. If I had to walk a long way it would be sufficient for the purpose. But, since I walk about 100 feet with my bag total in a week...

      @@freefieldtraining That's what I was thinking I'm starting to get everything ready before I apply to the departments I want to go to and been thinking about a lot of things I'd need. When you said you used it as a duty bag I almost asked how but then remembered it is a kind of bookbag

    These packs look like a bargain until you really look at them in person. The stitching is not the best and zippers/buckles are questionable quality. The fact that these packs are exclusive to Tj-maxx / Marshalls is a good reason to stay away from them. Maybe for occasional use, it's okay or throwing it in the back of the truck. I wouldn't expect nor would I depend on this pack to get a lot of use out of it.

    DO NOT BUY!!!! I have the Rodger. Two of the zippers have already broke. The metal they are made of is very thin. Pack is useless to me now. I have better quality zippers on my hoodie.
