But guys, I loved the final final word of John the Baptizer: his head is on the block, he turns his face toward the window and beholds a lamb (!), the light is reflected on his face, and he says, "Thank You" to the Lord. A beautiful exit from this world to the next!
I thought it was funny when Matthew was telling Tamar about Jesus giving him a look when he needs to write something down and just then He turns around and looks at Matthew and Tamar says excitedly...."Was that the look? Is He telling you to record this conversation with me?" That made me laugh out loud!!
And loved how Peter hugs him in such a sincere way, and how Matthew returns the hug knowing he truly was forgiven (not to mention his sobbing). I found myself sobbing, too, understanding the power of forgiveness!
As you talk about forgiveness the scene that impacted me deeply was Matthew talking to Jesus about how Peter has treated him, completely oblivious to his role in Peter's behavior. How Jesus with just a few questions gets Matthew to understand how he impacted Peter's life and livelihood and why in fact, he should apologize to Peter. I felt the sting...things I held against others while ignoring my actions that may have created the problem.
Yes! I can't wait to see where Schmuel's character goes. It's funny that Schmuel is headed to Capernaum from Jerusalem, while Yusef is headed to Jerusalem from Capernaum.
Yeah and I kept wondering who Shimon was at the Sanhedrin who was angry at their decision regarding Jesus and watching previous seasons I found out it was Shimon, son of Hallel. I initially thought it was Simon, the pharisee who had leprosy whom Jesus healed, who gave a dinner in honor of Jesus where Mary anoints Jesus' feet.
I wonder if Shmuel is going to be the one who pays Judas the 30 pieces of silver to help him bring in Jesus to the Sanhedrin because Shmuel now wants to help Jesus exonerate himself-only to realize too late that the Caiaphas and Sanhedrin have no intention of letting him go.
Always love your reactions, even when you don't love everything! To be clear...our healing of the blind man was, as we often do, a combination of more than one blind man healing, and we de-emphasized the specific location in favor of the larger meaning and power of the healing and how it can naturally connect to what else happens.
Hey Dallas! Always nice to see creators interacting with fans! Question for you if you don't mind my asking. Why did Thomas run TOWARDS Quintus when he's the source of the danger? Was he just turned around in the crowd and was panicking as he tried to get Ramah to safety? Thomas walks right in front of him, which confused my whole group! Maybe we missed something? Edit: sorry if that came off the wrong way, I think I was still reeling from everything. The episodes were excellent, just still a little brainbroken from the ending. I think I understand better now, brother. Thanks for doing such a good job. BTW, what does Thomas' necklace say?
Dallas, we loved it! Yeshua did so many miracles, and I know you're wanting to include as many as possible which has to be really challenging. And the John, Zechariah, and Elizabeth portrayal was so good! Keep up the great work! - Dr. Tom
The Thomas/Ramah bit tied into the opening scene with David/Bathsheba and the loss of their son. That you can pray to God for healing, and sometimes He doesn't heal, and we don't know why. I'm just envisioning a tension from Thomas when Jesus raises Lazarus in a few episodes.
I'm thinking the same thing. He's going to be wondering why in the world is Lazarus going to be raised, but not Ramah? It will be incredibly interesting to see how they portray Thomas' arc moving forward.
I think that this is where the "doubting" starts manifesting. Ramah isn't healed. Lazarus will be healed. Then, the Messiah doesn't even try to save Himself? I think Thomas will definitely question the Messiah's TRUTH and ABILITY. A test of faith, for sure.
In my emotional response I forgot about the scenes with David and Bathsheba. 🙏🏻 Was so caught up in why Jesus said it wasn't her time when God knows our time. His knowing was the one thing that gave me comfort and peace in the grieving process when my dad died. I was so confused and I let my grief plow through. Now I see it as perhaps she was not going to be resurrected until later (Revelation). My husband saw other theories like Jesus wasn't going to perform another miracle of that caliber in front of a crowd including Quintus and other Romans.
I prayed for healing for over 9 years! Prior to that I asked God to use me. The night of my first knee replacement, God gave me the opportunity to pray the salvation prayer with a 90yr old lady in my room and another lady who was terrified of the dark. If you pray to be used, do it sincerely and wait for God to use you His way. I love the scene of Little James when Jesus explains why he wasn’t healed yet. Spoke volumes to me! Helped me understand that God’s ways are not my ways. Season 4 is off to a great start.
Its ultimately the same lesson that simon and eden ad to learn. Im wondering though, why does he do it instantly for a pharisee to bring his kid back to life, but now he tells Thomas "im so sorry" or "it doesnt work like that"
My husband and I laughed more than we cried! Especially the whole scene with Peter taking Thomas aside to explain how forgoing the engagement gift was a bad idea. So funny.
It also reminded me of what his life was like. He didn’t have an ordinary life, going to wedding banquets and so forth. He gave all that up to fulfill his role.
I loved john's last words to joanna as he was being led away. A reminder of what he said to Andrew On the previous visit. The blind see. Is the lame walk. This captives are set free. The path has been made straight. I love this. His job was done. He had done it well. But it was one last reminder to those he would leave behind.
My 15 year old son and I saw episodes 1-3 last night. He was crushed when Ramah was killed. He said, "Mom, why Ramah? She was so pure of heart." Yes, she was. We both shed a tear over her death.
Laughed, clapped, cheered and almost cried! Love these shows. Well done. Many people learning the gospel through the Chosen. Praying that this is a vehicle for people coming to salvation. Maranatha.
Totally agree, they did him justice, so beautiful how they presented Zechariah's prophecy along with John's execution. The only reason John was born supernaturally like Isaac was to prepare the way for Jesus. Our times are in His hands, regardless of the ending we have something far better waiting ford us because of Jesus
The controversial death of Ramah will signify who Thomas is, leading to one of his only recorded sayings, specifically from John 11:16, "So Thomas, called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with Him.”" This occurs before the resurrection of Lazarus, hence, this event explains why Thomas said that statement to the rest of the group later on that we will probably see in Episode 6/7 of Season Four. It will also illustrate why Thomas is a "doubting Thomas".
yes I thinking about this passage and then of course can't ignore when he sees Jesus after the resurrection and declares "my Lord and my God". This is the beauty of scripture, there is so little written about individual characters which is, I think, for us to meditate upon and put ourselves in their place, or in the situation and think about how we would react or what it was like for the characters involved.
My theater couldnt move at the end. It was like we were all gut punched. No one moved, hoping for a J/K from Dallas and team! Grown men sobbing. We all just sat there during the credits, and then all walked out silently and tear stained. It was beautiful, funny, and heart wrenching. I cant wait to watch it again.
I watched the three episodes last night. I have never gone to a movie where it shocked me so big and so hard, that I literally couldn't move until after all of the end credits had played through! I heard everyone else around me getting up and going out of the theater, but I had to just sit there! This is so strange, but even today, (the next day) I have had moments where I found myself just sitting and being just kind of aimless, as if someone that I loved had really passed away. There in the theater, the first thing I was able to say was: But He was right there!! Like He was physically right there and I said to my mom, that I am afraid I would have ended up being so angry at Him and possibly even hating Him. She said, that's the thing, He's always... Right There. I said, but no, like He was standing right there at which time my dad spoke up and said, He's always Standing Right There. I'm sitting here right now, writing this and tears are now pouring down my face and it feels like The Holy Spirit has put a little tornado in my chest. He is here. He's right HERE with me. Right here and right now. He is here. He Loves us and He wants us to know that The Father Loves us. Blessed Be The Name of The Lord. Job 1:21
I am with you here. I feel emotional even reading the end of your comment. We do not understand it all, But He is LORD OF ALL. OUR CREATOR. HE KNOWS OUR EVERY THOUGHT AND WHATS IN OUR HEARTS. ALL I KNOW IS THAT HE LOVES US ALL SO MUCH REGARDLESS. PEACE
I also thought the scene with Ramah at the end, when Jesus said He loved Thomas and [God] loved him, but it wasn't her time and he was so sorry. To me, it gives some comfort that bad things happen to believers and it causes Jesus sorrow as well. It also showed Peter immediately comforting Thomas and he also experienced unanswered prayers
My favorite part was Andrew talking about his grief over John. My mom passed and the anticipation killed me I grieved so hard in her final months and after she passed at the end of December I felt covered in peace that passes understanding.
@@tf4youI'm heartbroken but also grateful that God used it to draw me back to him. I started watching the chosen at the beginning of December and I was back in a church pew a week later. His timing is perfect.
Dallas, if you are reading this.. i so agree with you .. This season needs to be seen on the big screen and my friends and i LOVED IT!! The emotional roller coaster was wild.. and i have not been able to stop thinking about what i saw and experienced.. Thank you and your entire Chosen family... Amazing work that will open eyes, melt hardened hearts, and change lives. I will keep you all in my prayers!! Your ministry is bringing clarity and truth to the world.. Thank you!! Thank you, Thank you!!
What blew me away about the ending was the way Jesus respectfully said "It wasn't her time". I saw merciful healing for those who have dealt with the sudden loss of loved ones to accidents or murders, and then hear that those who have been healed or survive are called blessed. Of course those events are worth celebrating, but we prayed and believed for their protection. It can be confusing, painful, and isolating. Surprised about the Thomas/Ramah comments... for one it gives a bit of insight to 1st century "dating" that our youth could use lol but the writers were spot on creating this story line that ultimately will speak volumes about what it means to follow Jesus through very difficult times. Well done!!
The dance scene was totally well done! the daughter dances a spell called the dance of the seven veils... those people worshipped Inanna, who also did this dance.
I applaud the Chosen's decision to highlight a spectacular athleticism of Salome's dance. Brienne from "Let's be honest" recognized the dancer as someone who is actually a famous dancer. This may be a historical source for the Chosen: The illuminations in "Holkham's Bible Picture Book": "She is depicted balancing on her hands, arching her back, and throwing her feet backwards into mid-air as if to perform a somersault. Such acrobatic entertainment would have been familiar to a medieval audience from the performances of jugglers, acrobats, and dancers at real-life festivities." This description looks a lot like what we saw in episode 1
Like I told a friend, I begged God to heal my son, but in His wisdom, sovereignty, and perfect love, He essentially said no. It is a life struggle that we wrestled with about why God Heals some and others He takes home. Yes, it is extra biblical. But it is relatable. I wish they would have tied it to the same vane as the blind man's healing. His ways are higher than ours! His thoughts are unfathomable. But...God is good, and everything He does is good.
Half way through episode 3, I started having a queasy feeling about the “shocking” thing Dallas said was coming. So much attention being given to the Thomas-Ramah relationship, made me think it would be Ramah. But good heavens, I didn’t expect what happened! I wonder if The Chosen will show Kafni coming to confront Thomas and Jesus, and I sort of hope that somehow it might be used to cause Kafni to come to faith in Jesus. I loved it when Ramah told Thomas “Stay with him.”
You never cease to accomplish much. Your knowlede of Scripture, Jewish history, deep emotional compasson, and yet, I always laugh at some point. BLESS YOU BOTH
Umm Sorry but valentines was straight up pagan from Rome…Valentine’s Day came to be is the ancient festival of Lupercalia, a raucous, wine-fueled fertility rite in which Roman men and women paired off. So since you are in Messiah already please don’t mixed the true love of Messiah with some paganism…😢
@@doll6141 if you haven’t watched the video, you may have missed Tom and Sam’s inside joke about Simon Peter giving some pre-marital advice to Thomas concerning Ramah. But hey, good to know, no flowers for you.
I have to say I wasn't surprised the the end of episode 3. But yes, it was heartbreaking. However I also know there is more to come so let's see how that all unfolds. Another interesting plot line is how Shmuel (spelling?) appears to be truly regretting his past actions. I'm anxious to see how that plays out. Love watching you two, and the great insight you bring to the scriptures. Yes, this is a "TV show", and they take some liberties to tell the story and flesh out the characters that we know so little about. To me that makes it enjoyable. I will go straight to my Bible to get the accurate story. Which is what their purpose is. Read your Bible!!
In S3, Simon and Eden had to deal with God saying “no” as well. Sometimes God says “no”. But when Jesus is talking to Peter around the fire they talk about Matthew’s bad actions and how God turned that into the course of events that allowed Simon to follow and then become Peter. There is darkness in this world, but the light will always overcome the darkness.
It seems that Jesus is not willing to revive or heal his own people ( apostles) but everybody else!! Eden lost her baby- - Did Jesus intervene because the baby would be too much destruction for Simon? Little James asking for healing- Jesus declared Was Ramah killed before the wedding?- Did Jesus remove destruction for Thomas? Wife could be too much, possibly baby?? So, everyone is healed or brought back to life but Jesus owns people…. WHY?
I figured Thomas would encounter disappointment in some way. Now it makes sense for Thomas’s statement before returning to Martha and Mary. And then his doubt of the resurrection as well. However… the acting of the characters had me rooting for a happily ever after. Also Quintus is now more sinister beyond his typical snark.
I admit, finding this out was traumatizing somewhat. It reminded me how I am brought to tears with songs like "Dick and Jane" and the OST of "A Walk to Remember" ... now multiplied by a hundred. 😶 ... 🥺... oh, Thomas...
I am mad at the show,, the ending for episode three needs to be rewritten,, this character could have been written off in a more beautiful way as only The Chosen knows how,, they are great at bringing beauty to this story of the life of Jesus like no other show or movie out there. To me all of the death and sadness in the Bible have a redemptive end,, the ending of this character and in the way it was done was Not like The Chosen,, it looked forced, for shock and not thought through,, we all know that Thomas has a doubting tendency,, probably that is what The Chosen it’s trying to drive into our minds,, but the Bible doesn’t need our help on any of that. In my opinion they could have wrote the character off in a more beautiful way. I also think The Chosen needed to spend a little more time at Caesarea Philippi and truly show to this generation how dark and horrible was the culture surrounding Jesus and his followers
What I love about your commentary… I can’t watch these episodes yet because of my location, and suddenly the internet explodes with a ‘controversy’ that we can’t watch or judge. I have disagreed with some marketing choices that have been made with @The Chosen however because you guys are so grounded in the bible it helps to watch your ‘spoilers’ because you are a discerning source and that means that I can watch future episodes with a ‘grounded’ perspective 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I agreed with almost everything in this reaction- cast on the episodes, but I loved the last scene with John’s execution- when he saw the lamb and says ‘Thank you to the Father. It was like a sign for John. Well done. You have run the race set before you and the Lamb will take it from here. Thanks for all you both do!
That part about gifts and wives got the biggest laughs; especially from one particular lady in the theater. This may sound weird, but my favorite scene was the Sanhedrin especially when Caiaphas entered. From the moment he spoke it was obvious this guy was the biggest villain in the whole thing. That whole scene was beautifully done!
Hi guys! I am italian and live in Italy... I am a huge fan of The Chosen and I will have to wait another month before I discover and enjoy the Italian word on the show... we don't get the episodes shown in theaters here and it is a pity! I have to guess: "Comprendi" is another way of saying "capisci" (which means "do you understand")... ok. I will wait until spring to find out! 🤔🙄🥺😇And by the way, you are hilarious and insightful. thanks!!!"
The death of Ramah brings forth an age old question - why is this one healed, why did this one die and not another?. Really hit my heart on so many levels.
Ramah’s death was extra-Biblical… because her presence is extra-Biblical… and historically, Thomas is going to die a terrible martyr’s death… Also the only apostle we know had a wife IS Peter… and he died a horrible martyr’s death too… imagine “Eden” witnessing that…
30:54 I think the Thomas Ramah thing is defintely setting us up for future seasons somehow. Dallas has intent in everything he does. I sort of thought all along that Ramah would not be here through the whole series. I just did not know how they would remove her. That removal was definitely shocking. 😮
Also, another funny part was Jesus saying the food was dry like Elijah's bones. I feel like that laughter was genuine and they had a hard time getting through that take.
Thomas & Ramah was heart wrenching…mainly because Jesus is standing there knowing what has to happen and He’s enduring the tragedy with His disciples just like He does with us today when tragedies happen in our own lives. That love that comes across the screen is a wonderful picture of the love of God towards us. Yes, Thomas maybe doubting going forward but I’m calling it here first…Ramah is resurrected after Jesus is resurrected as a fantastic character arch! Matthew 27! Here we go!
Ramah is a fictional character. We are expecting a retelling of historic Biblical events, not fanfiction. Honestly, if I wanted to watch a Hollywood rewrite ( fantastic license in fictional characters)I most definitely would not sit in a theater for over three hours having my emotions played with over an emotional, unnecessary death.
@@warrgailnone of the saints raised at Jesus's death are named, so if they want to include that part of the Easter story, they have to use fictional characters to accomplish that. Much like Gaius is a "fictional character" but oh actually he is an unnamed historical character in the Bible and we didn't find that out until much later. If saints were raised at Jesus's death, that means that believers would have had to die before his death to be on stand by ready to go. I can't wait!
@@warrgailI appreciate your honesty and opinion…what I try to do while watching The Chosen is try and relate to what the characters are going through and where Jesus is. Also, I try to bring these scenarios that are happening into my personal life and allow Him to speak to me through them. God can use anything in this world to reach us so for that I am grateful!
The only complaint I had…I wish the intermission was 10 mins not 5. My theater was a bit of a walk to restroom 😅 so I missed a few minutes of the second half.
I went tonight. No one in the theater moved or spoke until the credits were almost over. This season so far is mind blowing. My favorite part was Simon becoming Peter and his scene with Matthew. And, his biceps. 😂😂😂. The show levels up every season. Three episodes in and I’m an emotional mess. And I agree… Thomas and Ramah have never been my favorite story line and this latest twist is not my favorite either. Surprising, shocking, but ehhhh.
We only got episodes 1-2 in Aus, but I was struck at how deeply S3 E8 with Simon & Eden paralleled S4 E2 to the point before anything happened I was CRYING. It’s like Simon/Peter’s hyperfocused reconciliation arc. Like everything else is quiet & only one thing matters. Also lowkey loved how he broke the stick while walking away from Jesus after their campfire chat 😅 Genuinely made me wonder if they’ve written him as an INFJ, which would make sense if people saw him as a leader even if he didn’t see himself as one. And then working to become that and let Holy Spirit speak through your weaknesses… so beautiful!
I was wondering where their collective prayer came from when they were going to bed. This past year when I read through the Bible, I found a lot of their prayers & conversations scatterered throughout the OT. Thanks for the breakdown, and I Loved the drone scene before it started!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I was hoping to hear what you thought of the arc and internal conflict we are seeing with Shmuel, and your thoughts on the comments made by the high priest at that meeting of Sanhedrin. It gave plausibility to what has always seemed odd, and even unlikely, for the Jewish leadership to handoff the Jesus “problem” to Rome rather than dealing with a Jewish “radical” within the faith.
I wonder how Thomas is going to feel when Jesus raises Lazarus from death, but He didn't raise Ramah. I can wait to see it tonight. I love spoilers. Thanks guys. Love from, Gina Mac of Queensland, Australia. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺
My favorite on John the Baptist is when he walks up to Jesus in the field and breaks his chains and then turns his arm/hand showing Jesus the way he prepared. With Ramah, I feel like your insight about Thomas is possible but also I see it as another example that those that follow Christ still face hardships and death. We are not exempt from pain, suffering, or death.
Final thought - the Ramah situation is also a setup for a dichotomy with Lazarus which we know this coming this season. Will be interesting to see Thomas’s reaction there.
Cried at the end of every episode and I never cry. Devotion to God. Repentance and forgiveness. And faithfulness (of Thomas) despite not understanding and great sorrow.
That is funny because I did notice a lot Simon's guns! I never noticed it before so it's funny you mentioned it. But the Peter and Matthew forgiveness scene is so powerful. Also I had just talked about forgiveness verse just a week ago. Amazing!!
You should watch all of them. They're so funny but soooo knowledge on all things Jewish. Their commentaries actually helped me to understand the little Jewish stuff here and there, like what was a 'bris' so much!
Pretty sure Always Eating Atticus was speaking Latin phrases. Kind of weird since I assumed the Romans spoke Latin to each other when they were alone and the show just uses the translation convention so we don't have to read subtitles too much.
So happy to see y'all doing somewhat a review. My best friend that I've known forever.. we went to see it first day first showtime! I also loved the John story line but I'm telling you, the dream Jesus had seeing John in the field and seeing him break those earthly chains! I cried so much.. and Matthew with Simon Peter.. that one really really made me cry. I just always want to hug Matthew and tell him he is loved, give him a big hug😉 Rayma, I've been wondering what they were gonna do since we are pretty sure Thomas wasn't married.. didn't know how they were gonna do that. I think Jesus didn't raise the dead because it was out in the open in front of everyone. Might be wrong, but that's the way i took it. Then Peter coming up and hugging Thomas afterward. That made me really cry. I was so happy the show are finally getting out. Totally appreciate the way they use so much biblically but then bringing out how life most likely was. Thanks guys, hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow and may God continue to Bless y'all❤🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
I think the death of Rameh sets up another reason for Thomas doubting. Like many people, it hurts so much to hope in something and it not happen. He wanted Jesus to heal Rameh but he did not. Then his rabbi, Lord,Jesus, died and he could not risk hurting again in hope unrealized. Just a thought. Also the Roman trio- Atticus, Quintus and Gaius. Who, why...I have theories!
Very well done . So much to take in and apply to ourselves.. I agree with Sam about the last thing John the Baptist said to Joanna...Some tears , some smiles . 1 of my favorite parts was when Quntis ordered Gauis would not arrest Jesus!! Also, the thread of forgiveness. Great to see it played out between Peter and Matthew.
But guys, I loved the final final word of John the Baptizer: his head is on the block, he turns his face toward the window and beholds a lamb (!), the light is reflected on his face, and he says, "Thank You" to the Lord. A beautiful exit from this world to the next!
Amen!!
I loved that they did that. It fits with his personality
Amen, that was a very touching and moving scene!
And how come you see 4 :1 and 4:2 and 4:3. we in Australia get 2 .
And I loved Jesus seeing John the Baptist in his dreams...
I thought it was funny when Matthew was telling Tamar about Jesus giving him a look when he needs to write something down and just then He turns around and looks at Matthew and Tamar says excitedly...."Was that the look? Peter's Big Hug to Matthew...

My favorite funny part was Jairus’ response to hearing that Jesus had healed the blind man. The air punch.
Same! I thought they were going to mention that 😆
When Jesus said… he’s blind not deaf 😂
It was almost as good as John’s (Baptist) in season 2.
The baton from John the Baptizer’s excitement was officially handed off!
I liked how Z used his strength to do laundry.
John's last word was when he saw the lamb and said thank you.
Loved that part! Wonderful.
❤️
It was Gold!!!
That was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
His last words, when he saw the Lamb, was " THANK YOU." THOSE WERE HIS LAST WORDS. That was his sure confirmation that he had completed his task.

Huge spoiler here!
The dream that Jesus had about John was done so well without any words said. Gave me chills.
Cried when he saw the sunlight and the lamb at his end....
I put this on my watchlist and watched it later 🙌🏻
My favorite part was when Gaius (not sure spelling) stood his ground and refused to arrest Jesus
Laughed, clapped, cheered and almost cried! Love these shows. Well done. Many people learning the gospel through the Chosen. Praying that this is a vehicle for people coming to salvation. Maranatha.
The storyline of John the Baptist as presented in the episode was beautiful, touching, and well developed, totally agree.
I was thinking about this on the ride home.
I just found that scripture in John when I was looking for the “blind man “ passage a couple chapters before.
And I agree
yes I thinking about this passage and then of course can't ignore when he sees Jesus after the resurrection and declares "my Lord and my God".
It was the same at the theater I went to. We all just sat there.
Unfortunately, I had seen a spoiler on Facebook so I knew the ending. My heart was racing knowing something bad was coming.
Oh my goodness, it was the same for me!!! I couldn't move, I was just so stunned!!!
Job 1:21
Yes, He is always with us ❤
I am with you here. PEACE
@@segiaalapati1378Amen🙌🙏
I also thought the scene with Ramah at the end, when Jesus said He loved Thomas and [God] loved him, but it wasn't her time and he was so sorry. To me, it gives some comfort that bad things happen to believers and it causes Jesus sorrow as well. It also showed Peter immediately comforting Thomas and he also experienced unanswered prayers
The Chosen does SUCH a brilliant job of telling the back stories!❤❤❤❤
I needed this video after watching in theaters. This series calls for community like this. Can’t process it in a silo. Thank you both!
My favorite part was Andrew talking about his grief over John. My mom passed and the anticipation killed me I grieved so hard in her final months and after she passed at the end of December I felt covered in peace that passes understanding.
❤so sorry for your loss.
James and Johns mom would have been a sports mom. "Im talking to the coach. You need equal playtime"🤣
After she heard about Simon becoming Peter, she asked James and John, "So what are your new names?"
Atticus was speaking Latin. "Tu" is You and "comprendere" is the latin word which is the origin of the english word for comprehend.
Yes
Glad you told them. Like when Jesus said "Mater mea" to Gaius, when Gaius didn't understand "eema"
Did you notice that Matthew was the only one who did not struggle with the name of Peter?
Matthew is a very exact person. Once Jesus called him Peter, Matthew was set!
Yeah… despite he hates change… adapting to change badly… hmmmmm
Well Matthew was called Levy, but was called Matthew by Jesus when He called him. So a new name isn’t really new
@@JerodM yes! and Matthew means gift from God!! Really him and his gospel are gift, brilliant gospel, I mean they all are.
@@JerodMThere’s no place where The Bible says Jesus changed Matthew’s name when He called him.
Matthew 9:9-13
Mark 2:13-17
Luke 5:27-32
When Matthew And Simon worked out their issues!!!
You’ve gotta watch it sister!
BLESS YOU BOTH
I was amazed by the athleticism of the dancer.
Just got back a few hours ago. The hug got me. The last scene, interesting...
And a Grafted reminder: Valentine’s Day coming up; no flowers or gifts needed-just love! Trust me! 😬
Just saw the first 3 episodes. Episode 3 was unexpected and a tear jerker.
No worries! I cry during every episode in last 3,seasons. Then I rewatch them
I have to say I wasn't surprised the the end of episode 3.
Little James asking for healing- Jesus declared
Was Ramah killed before the wedding?- Did Jesus remove destruction for Thomas? Wife could be too much, possibly baby??
So, everyone is healed or brought back to life but Jesus owns people…. WHY?
Sorry, but the Bible said he healed all that came to him.
My heart just broke into a million pieces for Thomas 😢
Hahaha, I love how Matt is laughing from the background - all three of you having you wonderful wives' voices in your head 😀
Oh no! Ramah?! 😮
Poor Thomas! Explains the doubt coming later, I agree. 😢
I second an 😮 ... 😢...
I can imagine Kafni, Ramah’s Dad, now being one of the ones saying ‘crucify Him’. 😢
When I was at the theater I kept thinking “can’t wait to hear what Grafted has to say!”
What I love about your commentary…
I can’t watch these episodes yet because of my location, and suddenly the internet explodes with a ‘controversy’ that we can’t watch or judge.
The dancing was E-V-I-L!!! (of course the dancer did an awesome job)
"Well done, good and faithful servant'" John will surely hear this. His last line was actually, "Thank you".
🤔🙄🥺😇And by the way, you are hilarious and insightful. thanks!!!"
The Lord sees us for who we’re really created to be-an incredibly deep and challenging thought. Jesus calls us into it…thanks for these points.
Also, just got home from the theatre...Wow! The progression is definitely picking up. Though I left sad...I need more "The Chosen"!
Just got out of the theater! So much to think about and talk about!
The death of Ramah brings forth an age old question - why is this one healed, why did this one die and not another?. Really hit my heart on so many levels.
Too much creative license there. Didn't like it
When we get to Heaven, everything will make sense.
Fate, perhaps? There's something going on the spiritual level, that us on the mortal plane, can't understand.
@@wzoqtvagreed. Unnecessary drama in an already dramatic story
@@EqualsharesWe have 3 1/2 seasons left, the necessity will be made known.
Ramah’s death was extra-Biblical… because her presence is extra-Biblical… and historically, Thomas is going to die a terrible martyr’s death… Also the only apostle we know had a wife IS Peter… and he died a horrible martyr’s death too… imagine “Eden” witnessing that…
This
I saw it today too!!!
Loved it so much that I’m going again and taking a friend with me - February 8.
I recommend it!
30:54 I think the Thomas Ramah thing is defintely setting us up for future seasons somehow. Dallas has intent in everything he does. I sort of thought all along that Ramah would not be here through the whole series. I just did not know how they would remove her. That removal was definitely shocking. 😮
I really like the scene of John looking out the window right before he is beheaded seeing the lamb grazing in the meadow.
The time passed so quickly it didn’t even feel like 3.5 hours. If you haven’t seen it you should it was amazing.
I felt the same! Time flew by!
Also, another funny part was Jesus saying the food was dry like Elijah's bones. I feel like that laughter was genuine and they had a hard time getting through that take.
Simon, I mean Peter, walking towards Matthew. I cried before he reached him.
That’s a wonderful theory of where Dallas might be taking this.
Intere
@@warrgailI appreciate your honesty and opinion…what I try to do while watching The Chosen is try and relate to what the characters are going through and where Jesus is. Also, I try to bring these scenarios that are happening into my personal life and allow Him to speak to me through them. God can use anything in this world to reach us so for that I am grateful!
I love how Dr. Tom always wears his love for Jesus on his sleeve.
Love Grafted 🥰 Thank you.
The chaperones were funny!! Shula, Andrew, Barnaby
The only complaint I had…I wish the intermission was 10 mins not 5. My theater was a bit of a walk to restroom 😅 so I missed a few minutes of the second half.
You guy's are making me cry already.
Thank you.
Okay, I have to wait till later. I don't want to spoil it for us. Love you guys. Thanks for all the information you share.
I know! I was in shock at the end...I didn't move for a good 5 minutes...no one did.
I was low key living vicariously through their relationship. I love romantic plots, so I bawled
SO GOOD TO SEE YOU GUYS AGAIN!
Also lowkey loved how he broke the stick while walking away from Jesus after their campfire chat 😅
Genuinely made me wonder if they’ve written him as an INFJ, which would make sense if people saw him as a leader even if he didn’t see himself as one. And then working to become that and let Holy Spirit speak through your weaknesses… so beautiful!
DUDES! I had notifications turned on for this live but got none! Ugh! Love yall, looking forward to The Chosen-Season 4. God bless! ❤
I loved it! I sat alone in the Theater crying . JTB story was so well
Oh ya, "always eating Atticus" this is the only way I remember this guys name... Love it♥️🙏
I was wondering where their collective prayer came from when they were going to bed.
I understood this scene as the Jewish leaders not wanting Jesus' blood on their hands, yet wanting him to be eliminated.
I wonder how Thomas is going to feel when Jesus raises Lazarus from death, but He didn't raise Ramah. I can wait to see it tonight. I love spoilers. Thanks guys. Love from, Gina Mac of Queensland, Australia. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺
Good point - same struggle as Simon (Peter) went through with the loss of baby.
setting up doubting "cynical ' Thomas.
Love hearing the Messianic reaction!! Our group is going to watch the Chosen tonight!!!
Final thought - the Ramah situation is also a setup for a dichotomy with Lazarus which we know this coming this season. Will be interesting to see Thomas’s reaction there.
Same reaction like little James- he will heal others in Jesus name but Jesus refused to heal him
Love SOOOO MUCH! Many lessons & excellent back stories!!! Can’t pic a fav! 🙌✝️🕊
Saw the three episodes today…fantastic must see! Can’t wait for the next three in two weeks.
Just got home from the theater. When John looked out the window….. ❤
Amazing!!
I just found you guys and love your sense of humor and options ❤
You should watch all of them. They're so funny but soooo knowledge on all things Jewish. Their commentaries actually helped me to understand the little Jewish stuff here and there, like what was a 'bris' so much!
John being comforted and given strength by Jesus's message to him was beautiful.
Pretty sure Always Eating Atticus was speaking Latin phrases. Kind of weird since I assumed the Romans spoke Latin to each other when they were alone and the show just uses the translation convention so we don't have to read subtitles too much.
I thought it was Latin as well.
Well the show is in English language which wasnt spoken either..🤷♀️
Yeah, there's enough to unpack here (every episode) without having to read subtitles 😂
The actress who played Elizabeth was fabulous!
Raman may have been killed off because they actress is now a regular cast member of NCIS Hawaii and needed to exit the Chosen
Dallas explained in the livestream and the aftershow that the writers had already decided on this end (more or less) before the start of Season 2!
We just saw it and I am still trying to process it!
I just got home from the theater. I was the only person in the theater but that was fine. I loved it, cried a lot for sure❤️
I just always want to hug Matthew and tell him he is loved, give him a big hug😉
Rayma, I've been wondering what they were gonna do since we are pretty sure Thomas wasn't married.. didn't know how they were gonna do that.
