    So true about the labor market. My son had a high paying job for two years with a local company. They had enrolled him in a leadership school for promotion. The day after he graduated he returned to work and was told they were reorganizing and they had to let him go. After four months he found another job that pays about $20k less than he was earning. He applied to dozens and dozens of companies, most never contacted him one way or the other. I’m retired from a career I had for 35 years at the same company. My heart truly goes out to the younger generation.

    The line to get a job is 6 months.
    Asked my other friend from another old job.
    They are not hiring and cutting jobs.

    I work at a distribution facility in the Midwest and they let a bunch of people go in the office recently…..one of which was the head of all of sales at my facility. They also implemented a hiring freeze in the warehouse even though we have last two people recently that left for other jobs. They are not replacing them.

    Alot of people from Louisiana will go months without a job and never file for unemployment . The unemployment here is less than $300 . I used to never do it but i would definitely do it today . $300 is better than nothing. Even if its just for a few weeks.

    As an American who's trying to raise 5 kids on three incomes while being locked into a high interest rate mortgage and barely able to afford to live paycheck to paycheck, I need more than an interest rate cut!
    What ever happened to the child tax credit and why does the government keep giving money to the rest of the world while ignoring the problems that are destroying American families?!

    I'm so glad you showed the detailed information about jobs, ghost jobs, unemployment Brian. I've been going through it for years on and off. Theres a lot of people thats being mislead to believe finding a job is way. People don't believe me, even some of my own family members. It's really sad. All this situation is causing all kind of problems for people and families.

    we had low interest for 10 years with little inflation. Inflation came mostly from the other QE they did. If they dropped rates to 0 tomorrow I dont think it would do much at this point.

    Thank you very much for breaking this down here! I've been out of work for 9 months, the longest time I've been out of work in my adult life. I am older, and I am sure some of it is ageism, but what's happening right now is ridiculous. We've had massive tech job layoffs since January of this year but the mainstream media is quiet about it.

    Why should people get jobs if they can't afford the rent. I think people are just giving up. My son has worked at the same place for 21 years and he was going under with his wife and 3 kids. I moved into a smaller Apartment and just gave him my house witch I paid off years ago. Thank God I had one to give him. His kids are teens and he and I know they are going to have it worse. something has to give now. Small town mom...God bless America.

    Last job I secured was in October... didn't start until February this year. They want your life's blood with little benefit in the form of pay and it's a unionized job with little benefits. But I am holding onto it... especially after I had to release my part time due to fatigue. I just can't do all these hours anymore. So I am Tighten my budget. I need me time

    It seems that The more people loose their jobs who's going to pay their bills. Interest rates make no difference how low they drop the rates. Logical, no money, no payments, who cares about interest. The credit company's and everything else, loose money. The economy tanks. Who knows where those government people get their information. Or if they care about everyone else in this economy.

    The jobs that are being added are not "quality" jobs. The majority of the growth are in lower paying service and healthcare sectors. This spells big troubles not only for the economy, but also on state governments like California where they need the high dollar wages earners to generate the tax revenue to support their bloated social programs.

    I have been doing interviews for more than a year now and most companies just flat out ghost in the middle of the process without any clear reason or indication. I believe that they let the internal over-worked staff know that they are trying to find a 'suitable' candidate but then find an excuse to don't hire anyone.

      Same. I started off better than they did and not not so much after divorce and tough breaks we all had with crashes and low interest for so long. They had the benefit of everything being balanced better and easier to live on one income.
