  • They do resemble each other, and yet in character, nature and their individual features they are very unique in their identity, and thus every German Shepherd Dog is very special to his or her owner.
The verification of the individual dog’s identity is an essential part in terms of studbook keeping. For that reason dogs that were bred according to the SV breeding rules are provided with a microchip while they are still puppies and the samples of their DNA taken are stored with our subcontractor. Our ID representatives are especially trained by veterinary doctors for this purpose.
In case that a dog gets lost the transponder chip provides the data needed to return the animal to his or her owner. The DNA sample can be used to identify the animal in case that the microchip went missing respectively came off.
    Important Note:
This video documentation only serves the purpose to inform the especially trained group of persons about the procedure of the implantation of the transponder chips in accordance with the respective EU regulation in terms of the identification of animals. The setting of the transponder through a cannula is inevitable, and may be carried out without anaesthesia respectively sedation of the animal and in accordance with the respective animal protection law. All steps taken are carried out in a fashion that the stress the dog might suffer from during the treatment is limited to an absolute minimum.
The registration of the puppies by means of blood samples stored on so-called GOcards is an additional step towards the verification of the identity and the origin of the dogs. Only capillary blood taking ensures reliable results with respect to the samples for storage at the record office.
This method is widespread practice, and may be applied as described above and in full compliance with the animal protection law.
