Awesome video, you did a really good job at representing this webcam. I actually bought this webcam a few weeks ago and have been testing it here and there and let me tell you, it looks WAYYY better than any webcam I have seen in the price range. It definitely has a few issues, like I found that this webcam has a pretty rough time with any of the automatic settings, usually the auto whitebalance is off and the auto focus is practically hunting for you and can lose focus pretty easily, but honestly you can tune the settings yourself and get a crazy good image especially for the price.
My setup as far as lighting, I had a cheap Neewer $70 Softbox (24x24 inch) 3 feet above my head and to my left at 45 degrees. I had the power down to its minimum, and used two Raleno LED panels about a foot above my head at just 15% on my left and right to fill in so my Softbox didn’t wash my forehead out. Best advice to avoid the washing out, try to spread your light out to 2-3 sources and then you don’t have to crank up your Softbox so high. Forcing one spot to pump in 100% of your light can cause washing out with budget entry webcams for sure. 👍🏻
Excellent video. Very good analysis. Thank you !
Thank you!!! 🙏🏻
Good review. Thanks. I have bought this. 🎉
Such a bargain!!!!
I've had the Anker C200 since December 2022 - and I love it, from the privacy shutter; noise cancelling is also great; and Mike has reminded me to to adjust settings - something i havent done since i got this!
That’s what these videos are for! All of sharing what we know about certain gear (the good the bad and the ugly) so we all can get the most out of it - if we have it!! I still use mine for all types of stuff, video conf calls, especially if I want to keep my room dark to help maintain a relaxing atmosphere will gaming, zoom etc!
That’s Incredibly Awesome! Cheers!🥂❤️✨
Thank you!!! 🙌🏻
Nice review, Mike. I got this cam a few weeks ago because I switched my main rig to a Mac Mini, which obviously doesn't come with any peripherals. I was looking for something reasonably good for a small investment, but didn't expect much. With some tweaking, as you show here, I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality.
I really like being able to switch the crop factor with the software. Also love that I can close the lens up when not in use.
It definitely is a big surprise when you see they quality you can get for that price tag. It performs even better under normal home lighting than a studio setup too! Another way you save - not having to buy studio lighting to get your video images to its best quality.
Congrats on 1k subs
Thanks!!!! The grind is no joke, but well worth it!
This is a great cam. Got mine for 50 bucks. Been using it for my Twitch stream. I love it.
It 30 fps or 60fps in twich if use this webcam...
Ooo, £45 instead of £60. In the UK. Though we've also got good prices on the Kyro Pro £85 and the Logitech Steamcam £65 white. I'm getting a twitchy buying finger.
Is It good for reels creations?
What stand did you use ?
Thanks Bark! I was about to send you an email with this you, since you live webcams. It performs even better in normal/white walled rooms. I really wanted to see how it handled the darker rooms with studio lighting. $47 blows my mind.
It did feel in your review like it was tuned for poorly lit normal rooms. So your main light was still a lot of light for it to cope with. I've seen other good reviews on the anker webcams. Zoom cameras but punching above their price.
Exactly. It does even better in a normal room with more natural light. 👍🏻 I provided a link to a video review in the description to a review where it looks even better in a typical room with white walls
I just got myself a standing desk from costco and while its a tempered glass one and not wood I really love it more than the desk I had since I was 8
Oh man I want a standing desk so bad. Lol. Gotta save up some more funds for that one or start embezzling from my wife and I’s account 😂
If you can tell me how to get more than 360p out of this thing with teams... would really appreciate it.
Nice. Might grab this for my own channel. What headphones are you using? I love the look of them.
I’m using the Rode NTH-100 headphones. $150 but they outperform headphones that are $300 and up. Super comfortable, neutral sound for accuracy of what people will hear on TH-cam. 👍🏻
I clicked that link and bought it. Hell yeah, good review!
I just got one for my son, for his live stream for him to start his gaming channel. Great webcam to get started with, the image you can pull out of this for just $60 is unreal.
@@levelupwithmikenewman awesome, wish him the best! And yeah, it's mad! I hope it performs somewhat well when there's a lot of changing light colours, but there's only one way to find out :)
@@levelupwithmikenewman I got it in and had my first stream with it tonight. Disable auto focus and auto white balance and let OBS handle the rest: it was REALLY FREAKIN perfect. The colours, the clarity! It's amazing. Again thanks for making this video!
@@jasperdiscovers nice!!! Feels great to get video that you like and not have to pay an arm and a leg for it don’t it!!! 🙌🏻😄
can it be tilted up or down on your monitor ?
Hi
You’ve convinced me. What’s that “stick” stand you’re using for it ? As that may be good to put in front of monitor to get eye to eye contact?
Cheers
That is the tripod for the insta360 Link Webcam. You can buy it separately. I use it for webcams, and for when I use my Rode shotgun mic for any video voice-overs. here is the link to get one! amzn.to/46UL5NJ
Cheers 👍
I have been looking for a webcam I want one for the ps5 and the computer
Just got it and for the money this thing is bad ass.. well worth it
Best bargain out there !!!❤
@@levelupwithmikenewman I bought it due to the low light streaming performance, and it completely destroys my $400 GoPro, focus is amazing as well.
You should make a review about the C310
@@anissdjadouri it’s on my wishlist for upcoming videos 👍🏻
Many of these seem to have trouble with the auto white balance. If love to see how these with with changing light conditions. Like with a window in the background or a lamp.
Absolutely. I never trust the white balance. My issues were always TVs in the background or windows, anytime a bright light source in the room changes, it changes the cam. I always do my own white balance. Generally 5200k is generally nice to me. lol
i just got 2 of these cameras c200 (2k) for my kids, plus i deside to get 2 ryzer kiyo pro ( 1080p) to compare, and the true is shoking, this camera it not bad but the kiyo just at 108p is wayy beter imagen quality, the price was almost the same, $68 for the kiyo and $55 for hte c200
how about the anker c310? it's an upgrade to 4k from c200's 2k
haven't reviewed that one yet, but heard good things about it.
what would you prefer? the Anker cam or The Logitech c920's?
The Anker cam absolutely. I personally use it for Facebook livestreams since they limit the resolution you can use anyway, and I leave the C920 on the shelf...
I seek to know the camera you used to record THIS video? I want to know about THAT camera? 😊
I opened with the Sony ZV-e10 with a sigma 16mm lens will showing the webcam’s build and features. Then went to the webcam @2:41 after plugging it in, and used it for the rest of the video using the webcam itself. 👍🏻
@@levelupwithmikenewman I thought I sensed a Sony in there ha
@@KROMERES love that camera. I do all my professional videos for local companies and churches with that camera!!!
about the autofocus.. I'm not a fan and wondering if it can be turned off?
Yes. There is an option to turn the autofocus on or off in the app
As a Mac user (personal) + Windows user (work): Often the work-Windows PC is locked down with the typical corporate IT security and you can't change any settings (let alone download third-party software - However, as the video touched on, any changes from one PC will transfer to another - So not sure if this is common for other Webcam software settings? The other big PLUS is the FOV adjustment - critical if you don't want your workmates to see the junk in your office on Teams calls!!
Exactly!!!
I think that privacy mechanism is called an iris.
What was the microphone like ?
It was adequate for conference/zoom calls but I would go with a separate mic (xlr/usb) for streaming or content creation.
Thanks. Looking for a webcam that comes in handy for an occasional gaming session where the microphone is good rather than having an extra thing in my desk.
why no autofocus test ... ??? 😞
I didn’t have any complaints about the autofocus, but I will say it’s not amazing fast like 360 link or OBSBot Tiny 2, Meet 4K fast. Probably the same as the Elgato Facecam Pro which has a more modest autofocus. Definitely not dinosaur slow if your your worried about that.
@@levelupwithmikenewman I own the C200 for 8 months now and the overall experience is great, except for autofocus. My experience is that autofocus is really slow and it tends to kick-in on weird moments when nothing has changed to the enviroment. Overall I'm happy with the camera as it does offer a great price/performance ratio.
