I am sorry this happened to you. I totally agree that it is a scam. My biggest issue with it overall is that we even have to TAKE a clinical board. Nurses and doctors do not have to do a clinical exam so it makes no sense to me that the dental field is somehow different. The one good thing to come out of the pandemic is the manikin exam (this is the one I took) but we shouldn’t have to take a clinical exam at all. If you passed school and the national board, I think we should be allowed to start practicing.
I am beside myself watching this. I’m so sorry that you went through that. What a trooper of a patient your friend was! Good for you to sticking to your gut and believing in yourself! 💕💕
Unbelievable. So sorry you and many others had to go through that! I honestly wanted to cry watching the video just feeling the stress and anxiety you must’ve felt. Thank you sharing!
I am so sorry this happened, this clinical board exam is such a scam. It’s so hard to find a clinical patient but even with my clinical exam was the manikin and I had classmates fail and it was calculus removal. I 100% agree with you that the board exam wants our money knowing they see how many students are trying to pass. It’s hard when not ever examiner are the same.
Girl , I feel you, you could be very right, some of these companies are just trying to make money ..Glad you finally pass. I just pray I take the boards exam in an understanding center, and I pray everything goes well with me..
Hello! I don’t know if you are still engaged with your TH-cam content but would love to see more from you. I’m currently in the prerequisites “so close I can almost taste it” stage of getting to apply to dental school and I stumbled across your channel. Would love to see more.
Girl that’s is TERRIBLE! I am so sorry they did you like that, and I totally believe your theory about why they disqualified so many students... The entire clinical test is unethical and such a poor judgment of our skills. Such a scam!! I wish dentistry would evolve. 😔
I'm a nurse, and have been through an actually unbelievable amount of dental care the last 4 years (like 15 oral surgeries) and so much pain. I honestly have avoided going to a general dentist because I've been treated horribly. I won't get a cleaning without being numbed with an adequate amount of marcaine. I would fully trust you as my hygienist and wish you were in my area. As a patient with a ton of pain in the mouth, I find it crazy that they actually marked you down for not removing a piece of calculus due to your patient being in pain. That should have been full credit in my opinion, because any dentist or hygienist that forces past a patient's pain and doesn't listen when they're uncomfortable, is far, far worse than leaving a piece of calculus. That destroys the patient's trust in that dentist/hygienist, and likely makes them avoid care in the future because of that negative experience. A patient's comfort should always be prioritized.
This makes me really upset. I’m so sorry you had to go through that 😔 and thank you so much for sharing your story! xo Hope you’re faring well with school, pregnancy, and new job!
Hello! Recent new sub. Been enjoying your videos and learning a lot as my daughter will start the program in the fall. Are you going to make any new videos?
I had a question about teaching if you have a moment? My daughter has her bachelors in business but will be getting her rdh associates. Do you know if you can teach with a business bachelors as long as you have your rdh license ? Thanks for your time!🌸
Ohhhh! I’d be pissed and I’d ask they to show me how they don’t see it! Can you post a pic of the X-rays for us? Obviously without the patients personal information. You are absolutely correct with this! It’s all about money! It’s sad! There’s gotta be something you all can do about this. It’s not ethical at all. Also, a friend of mine uses topical on the area when she hand scales.
Oh my gosh I hope this is not going to happen to me! Taking the clinical examination on patient in Florida in April..2022.. I can't afford to fail it 😅..
I’m sorry this happened to you! Everything with it is a scam. Even the manikin. Which my state accepts as of right now because of covid. I failed it the first time. Why? They said our manikins wouldn’t have more than 4 mm pockets. Wrong! I was getting 6 and 7 mm and was freaking out and took 20 min reprobing thinking I was going something wrong. Plus, I was 32 weeks pregnant so I was uncomfortable lol
What happened? I was told it wouldnt be deeper than 5mm. I got some 6s. Still waiting for my results. But that's bothering me. The calculus detection was devastating. Really worried.
@@NaturallyKaitAre you a lawyer? I am so run it by one in your jurisdiction you owe it to yourself. We have ways of proving stuff you'd never think of....

I have been waiting for this video since last year 😂
Thank you so much for sharing and allowing us to learn from your experience!!
It's been so long! Lol
Thanks for sharing! Maddening that this happened to you, thanks for bringing it to light, so unfair for new hygienists starting out.
Thank you for watching 🫶🏼

Would you be willing to share tips and tricks with us about your hand instrumentation, since you're confident in doing so? Thanks 😊
This is crazy but I think you're right, and I'm happy you were able to validate yourself on your second exam.
Thank you!
This makes me really upset.

Thank you so much!
Ooh, I would be SO angry! I'm a first year hygiene student. Glad you passed the second time!
We have to bring instruments or not?
if we have to from where we can buy good instrument box?
I had to bring my own, I used a large Tupperware container.
Thank you for sharing your experience sounds so crazy and frustrating. I’m taking mine soon so hoping this won’t happen to me 🙏🏼😞
I'm sure it won't! Good luck!!
Hello! Recent new sub. Been enjoying your videos and learning a lot as my daughter will start the program in the fall. Are you going to make any new videos?
I’m planning on it for the future but had a baby not too long ago so I’ve been taking a break

I’m honestly not sure, it probably depends on the state you’re in!

I don't have the x-rays anymore unfortunately, I wish I did.
Girl pls tell me where you took this bc I live in ga and I take crdts next week
💀💀💀
It was in Ga but at a temporary testing site because of COVID, a lot of schools were closed so we took it at a large dental office
You motivated me to take pre reqs of dntl hygiene... I started good now it is all going down.esp chem
Wow. That is insane! I’m happy for you tho
Thank you!

I’d be PISSED!!!! I had no idea it was $1500!!!!🤯🤬there should absolutely be some sort of appeal system that was ridiculous!
There's an appeal system but it's so hard to prove anything so I just decided to retake it
Radiographs don’t lie 🤷♀️ My school did the manikin last year and apparently that’s a scam too.
It's all crazy!

I'm taking mine tomorrow.. I'm scared
I hope it went amazing!
Get a lawyer to look at this and sue them!!! I'm a lawyer so find one in your jurisdiction...
I don’t think there’s any way to prove it. I’m just glad to be done with all of it!
@@NaturallyKaitAre you a lawyer? I am so run it by one in your jurisdiction you owe it to yourself. We have ways of proving stuff you'd never think of....
This sounds like a scam! I hope you reported this to the state! CROOKS!!!
That’s terrible!
That’s infuriating.
I'm just so glad it's all over now
