Many thanks for the mention ! The 1035 and 1042 modules are selling well and more stock arrives this week. Nice to see the MS-5, I worked on the project until lockdown. I hope it sounds good, alot of care was taken to use the right components. I will release a patch library for the MS-5/SH-5, with over 200 patches created in 1979, as soon as the MS-5 starts shipping in June. Nice vid, you have packed lots in!
Dark Star - brilliant film that I also saw on TV late one night as a kid! Also, the guy that fights with the inflatable tomato is Dan O'Bannon, who wrote the original screenplay for Alien!
I've been using the Cycle Tetrachords for about a month, and it's an amazing and transformative machine. I hope you are as thrilled by it as I have been. It is something special. Also, it pairs nicely with MIDI-capable poly-synths like your new Disting EX rig. 33:30
Hi Robin. I prefer to leave it a week or two before looking at product release videos. The later ones seem to be more "genuine". Whether that's psychosomatic or not I don't know, but there's certainly a lot less gushing.
Haven’t all the Bjooks first been offered via Kickstarter? I think that’s how I bought almost all of mine with the exception of one bought from Kim last year at Knobcon. All terrific books.
They're nice and all that, but they're not for me. I do have one, but it was bundled with the korg nts-2, so I had no option as the nts-2 wasn't available on its own at the time.
i see a lot of talk about the astrolab as a synth. but in my brief and shallow entry into midi/synth stuff, I've have kinda settled on using my Juno DS as both a synth and midi controller. if I were to purchase a astrolab, I'd have a better synth AND midi controller - this has aftertouch
I'm not sure it's particularly great at being a MIDI controller because it doesn't have much in terms of MIDI control. There are better, more dedicated controllers out there with lots of knobs and sliders etc, but it depends on what you want.
Livestream with Beer and those crazy synths, sounds grrrr8... Do It! Lots of lovely gear ...I got serious GAS, particularly for those Blue modules patchmatrix..don't know why cos I got no money. no space...and no real need but hey...
Weird … only the first half dozen or so were working for me before, and now there are no chapters when I reload the video … I’m watching through the TH-cam App … 🤷🏻♂️
Did Arturia make a mistake when they named it Astrolab? It can't be used for experimenting with and modifying sounds so it can scarcely be called a laboratory. AstrolLav would be a better name, the place where you dump all your shit.
The Astrolab seems to be aimed at the performing musician. If it came with full licenses for all on Arturias VSTs so you could edit sounds at home or in studio, transfer them to the Astrolab for performance, it would be a great system to perform with Arturia VSTs without needing a computer. Apparently it does NOT include licenses for the Arturia VSTs which turns it into an expensive piece of garbage. Sorry, but NO..
Bleah…U-Toob didn’t notify me that you had upped this new vid…how I hate them so. I kinda miss the witty introduction, maybe just do two or three highlight witticisms?

LOVE the idea of adding ARTS to STEM for STEAM!

Yes, could be interesting :D
Finally, I've found someone who shares my love of Dark Star!
Marvellous stuff once again, thank you!
Another great show! Lots of interesting things.
Sergeant Pinback, time to feed the alien.
hey thanks for sharing!

This industry runs on hype, tho’ … 🙃

I think the first one was, certainly...

Quantiser as arpeggiator? Hmmm ...now you've got my cogs whirring.

Truly sad we'll never get a Robin mad at the digitakt 2 video
I'm always open to being sent a thing :D
your thoughts on the digitakt and elektron generally mirror mine they have zero love.. souless if you will..
Something wrong with your video chapters, Robin … ?
Wrong in what way? Seem to be working for me.

Ah, got it - you need to put in 0:00 for the splits to come up
@@MoltenMusicTech Yeah, I just tried reloading it again, and it’s all good now … 👍🏼. Cheers!

Why spend £1400 on an Astrolab when you can get a proper synth?
Good question. I think it’s for people who work in the box.

It'll be back - i was pressed for time and energy.
Astrolab..... glorified vst... that still needs to be connected to a computer to edit the sounds.
Hi Robin. About Dni-pro.... it's Dnipro, a river.
