    Stan...great looking low-cost shelter! Thanks for sharing your creativity and implementation with all of us. As you said, I like the 'rustic' look of the tin roof but wonder if a coat of paint of some sort would help protect longer from rusting out?? Also, thanks for your example of prioritizing family/work and then YT. As always, prayers for safety!

      Thanks buddy. I do like the rustic look. Maybe I can find a clear protector 🤷🏻‍♂️. We’ll see what we come up with when I get the pickets. TH-cam is fun and I’m appreciative of all the support y’all give, but it’s definitely can’t be my main energy focus. As always appreciate the understanding.

    I always enjoy your videos and look forward to them. You answer all the questions my wife and I have concerning getting chickens and pigs. We are on our way to saving to get some land to start homesteading. May the Lord continue to bless you all

      Thanks buddy, I am glad the videos have been helpful. I always tell people if I have been able to stumble through this, there’s no reason others can’t. I still have lots to learn. That’s great y’all are starting to save. I hope it all goes well and you’re able to do it soon. If I can be of any help, don’t hesitate to reach out.

      They sure are. The one boy is a tank and pushes the others around so much. He’ll be a good boar one day.

    Good use of pallets. I have pallets I need to build a compost bin out of it. As soon as it cools down some here in Texas.

      Thanks, it came out well. They would make a good practical compost bin.

    This is great, I might try this for chickens. Thanks for the idea!

      Thanks, I could see it working well for that. In my opinion the key is trying to find pallets that’s are the same size or very close to same size. Once they’re interlocked with 2x4s they’re very solid.

    I love the way you were able to repurpose those materials to make a good shelter for your pigs. The only question I have is about the orientation of the metal roofing panels. With the ridges running horizontally instead of vertically, how well will it shed water?

      @RockyCreekHomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a good point and question. The panels on one of maters pen are oriented the same way and water still runs off the back and it has less of a pitch that this new one does. I think it should work just fine, but I’ll be certain to update once we get a good rain and I see

    Pig shelter turned out good. Good size, and sturdy.

      Thanks. I could see it working well for several other animals, maybe even a quick and easy play house for the kids
