The corset looks fantastic! Fascinating process and your take on presentation of fashion. Thanks for sharing!

This is so brilliant! Your mind and skills astound me. "Being creative with your limitations" YES. I feel like I always consider my limitations as automatic negatives when they are not universally negative.

It's a tricky balance to strike for sure! But I guess that's why the process feels so magickal to me... everytime I make progress with it, frankly, feels miraculous and so full of agency!

I'm so in love with these clothing videos you share. 👗
I don't make my own clothes but do have certain sleeves (lantern, kimono, bell) that I love and can't always find. I often contemplate sewing my own onto my existing shirts...
My favorite clothing aesthetic is probably witchy pirate/poet... 😅
    Questions:
*Do certain corsets of yours have sleeves/shoulder straps?
*I noticed your corsets go down your backside. Is that normal for corsets? Or do you modify that as well? (Most I've seen/tried on stop at or right below hip line) [and hurt! 😓]
*What closures do you use in front? Or is it just lacing in back? (Like clasps?)
    ❤❤❤😘

Firstly, I always immediately love what you wear in your videos! You have a great sense of style and it always seems unwaveringly Lennan to me 🥰 To answer your questions (and more info will follow soon on the blog) ~ I don't put any sleeves or straps on my corsets but this function is somewhat fulfilled by my corset covers which smooth any harsh lines out between the bust and shoulder, help keep **ahem... things** down and **in** and also help me with a few other things to do with silhouette that I will mention on the blog. Yes, these corsets are inspired by Edwardian longline corsets... rather light weight (a little less about sculpting and filling out where needed) - the boning ends higher up and the length then provides a smooth line as skirts from this era would often have very hip hip hugging fits. Really, though, any corset should allow you to sit and move your legs and not feel pain from where the boning ends. This is part of why a more 3D understanding of your body shape helps, you may be a little shorter in the waist than others and that would be accounted for in a well-fitted corset. The distance from my underarm to my natural waist is 9 inches 😱 and it's another whopping 9" down from there to the widest part of my hips!!! I'm like a giant dachshund or something 🤣🤣🤣 Lastly, the corset clips open and closed in the front with a two part busk, in this case a spoon busk though this era would really only have used straight busks... a well-fitted corset should lace down to a 2 jnch gap at the back that runs perfectly parallel so (most) shaping or cinching is pre-planned into the pattern. I usually loosen the laces a little to clip myself in, and then just tighten until the back is ca 2 inches and parallel. The aim is for proportion rather than specific measurements.

To which I'll just add ~ that I filmed this video directly after eating a bunch of eggs, sausage, toast and greens!!! (A late brunch. And I dont normally eat sausage 😅) But I can also easily down half a pizza and a bunch of wine at the pub etc. while corsetted. There is a surprising amount of space in there.

Loved this. I am small and can't wear a corset. I do like boots for this reason. I LOVE THE MODERN ONES FOR AESTHETIC, to bring that rulership in to my daily life. 😂

Oh I LOVE boots! You are so right that they're great for channeling a sense of rulership! 💜💜💜
