A very popular system in 1960's Ireland when the "Showbands" rooled the roost!

Thanks! It’s nice to see and hear the ‘real’ thing. What an amazing design!
I’m happy with my Strymon Volante, since I’ll never have one of these bad boys!

One of the MANY Old School/& Vintage Effects that Pink Floyd is pretty much single handedly responsible for putting on the map for later people/bands/& musicians to come. I love the Binson Echorec II, Pink Floyd's Opening Track (The Song One Of These Days) on their Album Meddle is the ultimate showcase/& example of what this pedal sounds like/& also what it is capable of doing sonically (& using two Electric Basses as well).

Zach allen-zimny The Binson Echorec Baby was a huge part of Syd Barrett’s guitar sound during Floyd’s early live shows, first singles, and debut album Piper at the Gates of Dawn. When Gilmour took his place in 1968, his main goal was to sound as similar to Barrett as possible. Hence, you have Gilmour beginning with a Telecaster & Echorec. Always great to remember where they began!

The Syd Barrett machine . Lucifer Sam , Astronimy Dominy etc. Great effect with the magnetised wheel which is like a cd. Very advanced for the mid `60`s

Very nice! I love that self-oscillation feedback it gets!

That thing is the Lunar Module of rock history.
Gotta love how the brand name is lit from within. :-)
And - did they include a little oil can there on the top??? WTF?

      It’s a spinning magnetic disk.

@@CharlieMoney777 I know, Charlie. What I meant was that little thing on top of the housing on the left. That’s little oil bottle with a blue cap, right?

Now that is a big guitar pedal. Note to self, do not kick that echo thing, looks heavy and solid!

The setting at 3:30 sounds a lot like Pete Townsend's sound on "My Generation", on the Live at Leeds album.

Doug Llewellyn John Entwistle had an Echorec and Pete acknowledged that he added echo to Live at Leeds.

Hmm, did Hendrix use one of these on "May This Be Love" from the Are You Experienced record? "Waterfall/nothing can change me at all....." And did I remember the song title correctly?
Anyway, this is some lovely playing, and very cool effects!

    correct me if im wrong
    from what i can understand
first head records sound on that spinning wheel and that wheel takes sound and passes it through other heads and that makes the delay sound right?
